Chapter 2 - Ivy

Ivy continued running the rooftops of what was left of Tokyo, nobody expected The New Change would cause devastation to the poor lands. Ivy needed to hide for a while before exploring if there are any more survivors she can find and send to the safer parts of Tokyo. If only Ivy told that girl where to go.

In this world, there was a massive change in the world, causing an increase in natural resources and technology. However, the poor places became breeding grounds for monsters and gangs. In this world, there an artificial intelligence (AI) that follows everyone and grants details on monsters and people. The people call it sudden change the New World as they advance with technology far greater than they expected and resources were didn't seem finite. The effects of this change were massive to the point where government where no longer existed and territories grew, kingdoms like the Starlight Kingdom grew into power. Everyone can afford their luxury if they are rich or from an influential family. This is a world where the strong roam, the weak die and they smarts are everywhere.)

Ivy continued to run the rooftops of the decaying building and arrived at her place. A small forest that seemed to expand endlessly for some odd reason. Ivy landed down on the rough ground before entering the forest. Relaxing her tensed body, she stretched a bit before a small person that looked like a hologram appeared beside her left shoulder, its color was a dark gray that seems to resemble some sort of dark entity.

"Where do you think we're going?" the hologram asked.

Ivy didn't verbally speak but yet the hologram freaked out when it heard her.

"We're going to the kingdom?!" the hologram shouted.

Ivy covered her ears only to realized it was pointless as the AI was planted in her heads. They didn't enjoy having another voice in their head but at least they were 'given' a powerful AI. One of a few benefits she could enjoy,

"You do know we are being hunted down," the AI said, there was a simple void of emotion in the AI's voice. That was the good thing about having this AI, it didn't have the feeling that most AIs have. Even though it didn't really make sense for a programed algorism to 'feel' anything.

Ivy ignored her AI and continued to walk in the forest, where she could stay for the night before entering the kingdom if only it was that simple. Oh how she wished she wasn't being hunted but life is life. And it will never be fair.

"Contact...one person," the AI seemed to be surprised by that there was only one person. Ivy stopped in her tracks and sniffed the air. Her AI was indeed correct about a new person even a new scent too.

Ivy reached her hand out and a bright black light surrounded her hand. There, a sword was created, its blade was stained blood and the handle was made out of a tough material that could only be mined by only the riches. Luckily, she was able to simply take it.

"You're quick on your feet, my creation," a person appeared only a few meter away from Ivy. Their face was hidden by a tree's shadow. "How long are you gonna hide from me?"

There was no response from Ivy. The stranger walked out of the shadow, wearing a lab coat with a red shirt stain with a few accidents, squared glasses, and independent blue hair.

"I guess it's hard to speak from your last encounter since our forces did shoot you in the throat but I wasn't surprised by the report I got from those fools," the scientist mocked, "Come with me and I can fix a new pair of vocals, that dark demonic voice doesn't suit you."

"Like hell," Ivy finally spoke, her voice was harsh, to a growl and almost inaudible. But to the scientist, it didn't matter.

The shadow stabbed their sword in the scientist's stomach, the scientist's body flickered like statical.

It was a hologram. Typical.

"Is what you would do to me? Why Ivy?" those were the last words before the hologram disappeared. Leaving not even a trace but the smell of metal.

"Another contact, this is not an ID that we've met," the AI said inside of Ivy's head.

There was an annoyance deep inside of Ivy before she turned her attention to the new ID. She quickly changed her weapon into a small pistol that looked like a Desert Eagle from the 21st century that was able to shot a .357 revolver round with the modification of mana surging through, it was a one-shot kill in almost organ possible. Just have to brace for the recoil.

(Author's Note

Mana A.K.A MP is the amount of magical or spiritual energy one has. This will possibly be talked a lot however don't think this is a virtual game. There is a difference as Mana in-games, you can recharge it with potions but in here, Mana is a natural thing that can not be recharge with a few exceptions.)

As Ivy was walking away from the scene, she pointed her gun behind her. She didn't need to know where this new ID is hiding, she just needs to scare them. As she was listening quietly, she swiftly flicked her gun to the right side of her and fired. A clear miss however the sound echoed throughout the area, causing the nearby monsters to flee in fright. Bullet's path hit a tree in which fell behind the new person, very convenient for her to prevent the ID's escape.

"Plan?" the AI in a slightly mocking tone.

Although Ivy much rather kills the person, leaving nothing. She wanted to know who was stalking her. For all she knew, it could be a person trying to escape from a band of thugs. She lowered her arms but just a little bit.
