Chapter 7 - Cooking with the Girls

After the breach in the throne room, many guards were investigated. Along with Count William was locked up until he was given a fair trial. Saying that the king was furious was an understatement. Not only did one of his royals betray him, but many of the other royals were up for question.

Ruby was hanging around in her room, tending to Ivy's wounds before hearing a knock on her door. She hung the wet towel in the basin beside her before walking up to her door and opening it. Ruby was surprised to see one of her fellow colleagues from the academy she works at.

"Professor Scarlet, wh-what bring you here?" Ruby was surprised to see her old friend.

"Oh, please don't call me that when we're not on school grounds," Scarlet waved away Ruby's words. She had crimson hair and bright red eyes that matched. She also wore a white dress with sunglasses on the top of her head. "I heard that there was a breach in the throne room. Is everyone okay?"

Ruby pulled Scarlet in before pointing her towards the bed with a pouting expression. Scarlet had a bell-like laughter before taking a seat on the edge of the bed. Ruby closed her door before pulling up a chair facing Scarlet.

Seeing Ruby's complexion, Scarlet took the matter much more seriously. Ruby nodded her head before explaining what happened in the throne room.

Late in the evening, Ivy finally woke up from her exhaustion. Although she didn't exactly push herself, that didn't mean that Ivy suffered a mental strain. Ivy quickly rubbed her eyes before sitting up to see the room completely dark. She was lucky that she was a cat person, as it would have taken her longer for her eyes to adjust.

Seeing that nobody else was in the room, Ivy had Omega light up the room just a bit before she found the switch. Lighting up the room, she checked what she was wearing before discarding it on the floor and heading into the bathroom.

Naturally, her cat instincts flared up, but Ivy learned to ignore it as she turned on the shower faucet. She stretched before heading in the shower and washing her body.

After a couple of minutes, Ivy walked out of the bathroom and was greeted with a tackle hug from Ruby. She wasn't expecting to be hugged, especially when she thought that Ruby was in a different room sleeping.

"Good evening, sleepyhead!" Ruby smiled as she let go of Ivy and helped her back on her feet. She quickly noticed that pointy ears and cat tail before showing the biggest smile ever. "YOU'RE A CAT PERSON!"

Before Ruby could try to hug Ivy again, she quickly sidestepped and looked at the new woman that followed Ruby. Ivy didn't sense anything strange with the woman, but she didn't let it go past her.

Scarlet saw Ivy's gaze and smiled at her, Ruby already informed her who this girl was so she was more observant than usual. Scarlet walked over and held out her hand, " Hi, my name is Scarlet. Nice to meet you, Ivy, was it?"

Scarlet noticed the robotic arms and hand, though she didn't have the curiosity like Ruby. It was indeed strange to see two robotic pieces. In most cases, a person's body has either have one piece of metal or just a half cyborg.

Ivy nodded before walking over to the wardrobe and finding a pair of clothing. She removed the precious white gloves that Ruby gave earlier and made proper maintenance before returning them into the box.

Ivy pulled out a white shirt, a white pair of pantie, and a small pair of shorts. She dropped the towel that was covering her body, exposing her back towards the two girls, in which they both saw a very faint rose-like flower on her back. Feeling the gaze of the two girls, Ivy turned to face the girls and showed how bouncy her breasts were.

"J-Jesus! Change in a different room!" Scarlet yelled; she could feel a vein pop at Ivy's lack of common sense.

"We're all girls, why does this matter?" Ivy countered before turning her back and fitting into the clothing. Once she was finished, Ivy said, "Besides, I'm just showing you my body. Not like I'm seducing you two."

Seeing that Ivy not only rebuttal but also make a small little insult at Scarlet, Ruby started laughing and had to hold herself up by leaning on Scarlet's shoulder.

Ivy shook her head before removing the bandages around her stomach and right arm. She wasn't surprised that someone had already taken care of the new wounds, but they also seem like there wasn't going to be any new scars. Before she could thank Ruby, Ivy's stomach growled like a fierce beast raging inside it.

Ivy could hear giggling as she looked up to see Ruby dying of laughter. Ivy tilted her head as she didn't understand what was so funny. She stared at Scarlet but only got a shrug.

Finishing up laughing, Ruby wiped the tears away in her eyes before pulling the two girls into the kitchen. Ivy just allowed herself to be dragged along the floor while Scarlet walked beside Ruby.

Entering the palace's kitchen, Ruby asked one of the chefs if they could teach them how to cook something very delicious but keeping it simple. The chef nodded before finding a separate place from the other chefs who were packing up for the night.

The chef was a middle-aged man, around his low thirties with chestnut hair and dark brown eyes. He guided the girls with three separate cutting boards along with a couple of ingredients.

"Alright, who had cooked before?" the chef asked. He wanted to gauge where everyone level was at before helping them through what they're gonna make.

"Only a few dishes, nothing exceptional," Scarlet said, scratching the back of her head with a slightly embarrassed face.

"I never really cooked, but I've seen many chefs cook in front so I might be able to use that," Ruby replied in an embarrassing tone. Scarlet was surprised to hear Ruby but then smiled and teased her about making her something special for her.

The chef wrote down what the girls said before asking Ivy, "And what about you, young miss?"

"I cooked, just not on a professional level," Ivy replied in a bare tone, she looked at the cutting board before switching out the knife for one of her own cutting knives.

("Does she have space mana? That's the only way why she's able to make things appear and disappear.") Scarlet observed the sudden appearance of the knife.

"Alright, we're gonna make some spaghetti with grounded up meat. That's alright with you, girls?" the chef asked kindly. Ivy could tell that this chef was a gentleman and very kind to those who were young.

The three nodded before getting instructions by the chef. Ivy was to cut up some greens and get the saucepan ready; Ruby was to monitor the spaghetti, and lastly, Scarlet was to get the meat prepared and in the pan.

The chef watched the three worked together, communicating well besides Ivy. Although it seemed like Ivy was normal from most people, the chef could tell that Ivy wasn't fond of other people. He didn't ask questions as he was impressed by Ivy's skill with the knife. He had to guide Scarlet a few times, and Ruby seemed to know how to make some good spaghetti too.

In the end, the girls were happy at the end product of their work. Surprisingly, Ivy had an acute sense of detail and made the dish look a lot more exotic than it would typically be. The chef congratulated the girls before telling them that they must clean up before eating. Ivy's area was already clean, but she helped Scarlet and Ruby clean their area so they could eat quicker.

The chef was indeed impressed by the communication and teamwork they had. He was even jealous of how good their food looked. Ivy cut her serving half for the chef since she felt a bit bad for the guy.
