One Year Later...
Katrina Kuznetsov's POV
After our little trip to Conall's summer house, we have settled in his apartment in Glasgow. It was a nice and tidy apartment, with fewer things to spare in it. I walked inside the house for the first time and it screamed Conall's. I walked inside the master bedroom and Conall had ideas for how he would like me to spend the rest of my life there.
we were laying in bed after we just finished making love for the nth time today. I don't know what happened to me but I can safely say that Conall was my drug and I don't think that I could get enough of him.
"what are you thinking about?" He asked as he traced my back with his hand. I smiled before I turned and rest my head on his shoulder while playing his chest with my hand.
"Nothing, just thinking," I said as I looked at him. I was smiling satisfied with today's hunger. I don't think that he would be back so soon from the office. I was about to make dinner when Conall came in and interrupted me from my cooking.
"I know you, love. You don't usually just thinking. I know you have something to say. So spit it out," he said as he popped on his elbow and looked down on me. I sighed. I know that I can never have a secret with my husband anymore. I just need to get it out of my chest if I wanted to have a good night's sleep again.
"It's just…my sister still did not turn in Russia. I just called Mr. Volkov to ask about the estate and all that, but I don't hear anything from him about Karla," I said as I was leaning to Conall. He was caressing my hair as I was listening to his heartbeat in his chest.
"It's okay, Katrina. I'm sure she is okay. Don't you say that you guys have mad skills in killing and assassination? I think if anybody bothered her, she would kill them right of the bat," he said as he laughed. I looked at him, glaring as the killing was some kind of a joke to him.
"Sorry," he mumbled before nuzzling my neck. I sighed as I dont know what to say about my sister anymore. Was she okay? Was she's not? Where was she staying? Did she have enough money? All of those thoughts kept me awake at night.
"Katrina, love, I just had something to say to you. So I was wondering if you would love to have a ball in your honor? I know that I don't exactly show you to the rest of the world yet but I was hoping that you would love to have one?" Conall's question interrupted my wandering mind about Karla.
"when was it?" I asked him as I looked into his green orbs. It reminded me too much of the emerald and the experience that we have together but I guess, the gem was saved in some vault that Conall designed to surpass its power to attract me and made me time travel again.
"I was thinking about our wedding anniversary, or would that be too much for you?" He said as he looked at me. I was smiling as I caressed his cheeks. My husband was a sensitive guy and I loved that characteristic of his. I went to kiss him on the lips.
"that would be lovely. besides, I would love to meet your other friend as well. And I hope that by that time Karla would be back," I said as I went to put my head on the pillow. Conall went to spoon me but I can feel his hard bulge on my lower back. I laughed.
"honey, I thought we just got off 2 hours ago?" I asked as I looked at him again.
"well, that was 2 hours ago. And now with your naked body and ample bosoms, you can't expect me not to get hard on you, love," he said as he nuzzled my neck. I moaned when he left feathery kissed on my neck. He knows how to please a lady.
"fine, but after that, we will be getting some sleep. I'm tired," I said as I went to straddle his stomach. He laughed as he looked at my bosoms that were showing in full length at him.
"of course, but for now, your body was mine to behold," he said before he pulled me for a kiss and the rest was history.
Conall Reid's POV
After last night's action, I know I should have let Katrina sleep but I couldn't. She was that addictive and I have to get her off my mind if I wanted to make a discovery tomorrow.
I haven't told her yet that I was being called to give a presentation about my research on the time travel and such but I guess, I just have to wait for it. I know she would be made and I have broken my promise when I told her that I wouldn't get obsessed about it anymore.
but how can I when there was much more responsibility for me to take care of the fate of the world on my shoulder. well, not at all when my best friend, Edmond Lattone told me the surprising big news.
"Hey, Reid, guess what?" He said as I was conducting a reading about a time and the universe in a book wrote by Stephen Hawking.
"Yeah, what? And don't say that you will be getting married," I said as I was talking to him. Edmond laughed.
"well, not exactly but that was the road that I wanted to tell you," he replied. I knew it before I sighed.
"so, who's the lucky one?" I asked as I closed my book since this conversation got more interesting than the book that I was reading.
"well, do you remember when I was in France after we finished our academy?" He asked me.
"Yeah, so?" I asked as I was getting impatient.
"well, I'll be marrying that girl that I liked as I just found out that she was living in France and us just kind of hit it off and—" he was interrupted when Katrina called for me.
"look, dude. I was happy for you but I got to go. Katrina called for me," I said as I was putting down my handphone before Edmond could reply for an answer.
"Coming dear," I said as I went downstairs and Katrina was looking shocked at the door before I went to look who was it.
"Yes?" I asked as I looked at them. They were wearing a formal attires except for one girl. She might be 15 years old by the looks of it.
"are you Conall Reid?" One of the officers asked me. I nodded.
"We got someone that was claimed to be your cousin, Annabelle Reid. Her mother just passed away and she has written something for you, sir," the officer said as I took the envelope. I looked at the cursive writing. It was from aunt Cassie. I know it as I looked at her handwriting. I went to read the letter and I was shocked. I don't know that aunt Cassie has a daughter. She was never married.
Dear Conall,
I'm sorry to put you in this situation as I could not turn to anyone else anymore. I only trusted you and I hope that you can help my daughter, Annabelle, to settle in a new home. I have been dragged into something that I don't want my daughter to find out and I hope that you understand as I cannot tell anyone. I will carry my secret to the grave and I know you will be a good brother to her. There's an account that I set up for her and when she reached 18 years old, she can access but for now, I will leave you in your care.
Love,
Aunt Cassie
I was shocked to see the amount of the trust fund that my aunt has set up for my cousin. I looked at the other note that was a DNA test. It's a match with my aunt. I looked at the girl and she had the same green eyes. The eyes of Reid. I nodded at the officers before they allowed Annabelle to get inside my house.
"Hello, Annabelle, my name is Conall and I'm your cousin," I said as I shook her hand. She took it and looked at me before she looked at my wife.
"and this is Katrina Kuznetsov, she's my wife," I said before Katrina shook hand with her.
"we'll be going, have a good day, Mr. Reid," the officers said before we closed the door.
"I'm sorry if I have messed up your life, cousin. Mother always told me about you," she started to talk when the officer was gone.
"I know I should stay but only when I was 18 years old. By then, I will be on my merry way," she said again before her icy glare looked at us.
"Of course, of course," I said before we settled her inside my apartment. well, I guess I have to wait to have my children but I think my cousin was not ready to open to me yet. Giving time, she just might.
"Conall, she was delightful. I liked her," my wife said as she looked at me when Annabelle disappeared into her room. I sighed. I guess my life would not be boring after all.
