After the fire incident, the main topic of gossip was Ae Rin. It was a major chaos among the others for many days.
How did she save all of them? Is she supernatural? Is she THAT amazing? How could she save an almost dead patient? - These were the questions swarming the minds of her colleagues, nurses and other co-workers and confusing them but no one wanted to ask it to her directly.
The other topic was about the new doctors arriving TODAY.
"Hey, look, look! That's him! But... where's the other one?"
"We will see about the other one later! Just look at him! He is so handsome!"
"He is supposed to be assigned to Dr. Rin. Word is there that they are from the same country. The other one, too."
The co-workers, nurses and other staff members gathered around in a small crowd as a tall man passes by them with his hands stuffed inside his pocket, not even sparing a glance at them.
On the other hand...Ae Rin is having a big trouble trying to skim through the huge amount of reports and files piled up on her desk. She was going crazy because of nurse Hannah bringing up so many reports continuously one after another.
Why does she have to do so many of them? Because a few of the doctors recently went on vacation and all of their pending works were supposed to be done by 'someone'..
"Aaahhh!! I m going mad! I have to finish this up within the next 2 hours! How am I supposed to do that?! Not even with my ability it's possible!!" She ruffles her hair and scratches her head as if she was going mad.
Right then, the door suddenly opens,
"Hello, may I co-?!" Right as the new recruit was about to enter, Ae Rin bursted out in anger and frustration thinking that it was nurse Hannah submitting the other reports , "Is that you?! If you bring ONE more file, I swear I am gonna kill you, Hannah!!"
She turned around in anger, but to her surprise, it wasn't nurse Hannah. It was the new doctor. He stared at her with a puzzled and surprised expression which immediately made Ae Rin a bit embarrassed.
"Uh...may I come..in?" He hesitated.
"Uhm..yeah. Have a seat. What's your name?" Ae Rin coughed awkwardly and sat across him on her desk. Her lips curved up into a smile as soon as they settled down.
He was about the same age as Ae Rin. He had silky brown hair and bright and determined blue eyes with a sweet smile on his face. His skin was pale and smooth. He wore a black suit which highlighted his features. He was indeed good- looking but that didn't really spark her interests.
"My name is Haru Nakamura. It's nice to meet you." He introduced himself and shook hands with her formally.
"Same here. And, where...is the other doctor? Plus...I haven't yet received his profile report. He is supposed to be coming with you, am I right?" She questioned.
"Oh, him. He is my roommate. He actually has... something to do today..so he won't make it. He will bring his reports tomorrow." He replied hesitantly.
"I can already tell that he is ditching his first day. Anyways, your work will be volunteering for my next surgery and after that, I will show you around." She said sternly and stood up to leave but then she stopped in her tracks and said, "And, better not lie to me next time. I absolutely hate those kind of humans and I don't really expect greater things from them."
Her cold and intense gaze made him flinch but he tried to remain calm.
"Then you haven't seen much of this world. Try me. Who knows, I might turn out to be the first liar to have achieved great things."
Ae Rin smirked meaningfully at his reply.
"Oh, trust me when I say that I have seen much more than you. Well, I don't have time to talk about any of that. We have a surgery as I mentioned. Please come along." She said as she opened the door and walked out of the room while Haru quietly followed her to the operating room.
*After the surgery*
Ae Rin and Haru came out after yet another successful surgery. Ae Rin smiled and patted lightly on his shoulder, "Good job today. Thanks to you, the surgery went faster than it usually does while cooperating with the other doctors."
"Told ya I would be worth it." He smirked proudly.
"Don't get overconfident. This was just a regular surgery." She rolled her eyes and sighed.
