Chapter 17 - The King's plan

Nothing was worse in Kyou's life than what he was going through; The continuous threatening screams of the beasts and the mosquito bites, AGAIN.

But, by now, he had already gotten used to it since it has been about a week or so, staying in the dungeon and having frequent contact with the king as well as Ae Rin from time to time.

As a result of the frequent meetings with the King, they had finally initiated a plan for bringing Ae Rin to the organisation for the sacrifice.

According to the plan of the King, Kyou was supposed to get back to his normal life again, but this time, he must get closer to Ae Rin to the point where she could trust him blindly. Once that happens, Kyou will take her to the same park where they tried to attack her last time and the rest will be up to the organisation.

And of course, after the plan was made, he was sent back to his cell.

He crouched down in a corner and pictured her face in his mind and he started feeling her presence in his mind.

"What's up? Anything new?" Ae Rin asked.

"Yeah. The King made a plan to...bring you here." Kyou replied in a hushed voice.

"Really? What is it, then?" She scoffed and asked.

"He said me to go back to my usual life and become very close to you; close enough to trust me. And then, he asked me to bring you to the Blue Sky Park. Rest will be handled by them. He gave me a month's time to complete this task. I will be released tonight. His men will be watching me from time to time and I will have to give updates about the progress. Well...do YOU have a plan or...?"

He asked, after explaining the details to her.

"We will think about that later. For now, I just hope you to safely come back. Ah, right! Where will you be staying...? At your house or mine? But won't it be troublesome to stay alone and make your own food?" She asked worriedly.

Kyou's lips curve up into a smile after seeing her being so concerned about him.

He softly chuckled and replied, "Don't worry. The King asked me to stay as close to you as possible, since it will be an opportunity to be good friends with you. I will stay at your house, and when they demand an explanation for that, I will say that I asked shelter for sometime."

"Alright, that's great! I have to get going to school now. Later!" She said cheerfully and ended the conversation.

Kyou smiled and leaned on the wall.

"I should probably get some rest now. Oh god! Could you be any more louder?!!" He yelled at the beasts who were banging their heads on the bars of the cell as he slowly drifted off to sleep.

*At night*

"Hey, wake up. Wake UP. I SAID WAKE UP!!" The guard poked his belly multiple times with his spear - like rod.

"Nnghh....shut the hell up...." Kyou's face twitched slightly in response and he rolled to the other side.

"What did you say?!" The guard was furious. He leaned forward and slapped Kyou on the face.

"Ow! What the-!?" He instantly woke up and rubbed his cheeks which were now red.

"We are going to release you and this is your attitude?" The guard glared at him.

"Whatever. Just lead me out already." He stood up and frowned.

The guard covered his eyes with a blindfold and roughly dragged him out of the dungeon.

"Now get lost." The guard said before removing the blindfold and leaving him in the middle of woods.

"W-where in the world am I?!"
