"I have to contact Ae Rin! I-I don't have a clue of where I am right now!" He looked around at the surrounding greenery.
He closed his eyes and tried to communicate with Ae Rin.
"Hey! Are you there? I need help. They left me in the middle of nowhere."
"Getting there, ASAP. " Ae Rin replied.
*Poof*
Kyou turned his head to see Ae Rin, standing there and analysing the place she has come to before looking at Kyou with a smile.
"Glad to see you in proper shape!" She said cheerfully.
"Thanks. Ok, let's go back to your place before they start following us." He said as he approached her with caution in his eyes.
Ae Rin nodded and within a split second, they were back in her house's dining room.
"There's a small feast on the table exclusively for your progress till now." She smiled and pointed at the chocolate cupcakes on the dining table.
"Woah! How did you know I loved these cupcakes? Thanks!" He was overwhelmed with excitement on seeing his favourite dessert and quickly rushed to grab one of them and stuff it in his mouth.
"Thwese awre sho delicwous!" He said while swallowing down one of the cupcakes.
"Don't talk while eating. You can save the complementary for later." She chuckled at the sight of him swallowing them quickly one after another like a little kid.
Within a few minutes, he was done with all of the cupcakes.
"Really, they were very delicious!" He said after finishing the desserts.
"I will make more for you later. As for now, I want to see your brain." She said with a smile.
"My what?! Are you insane?" He asked bewilderedely at her sudden request.
"I don't mean it literally! I just want to see your memories from the time you visited the organisation. That's all." She sighed and explained.
"Oh, ok. You can see it." He replied.
She sighed and approached him.
She placed her index and middle finger on his forehead and closed her eyes.
A faint blue light appeared from her hand.
In an instant, she was taken back to the Kyou's memories from the time he visited the dungeon and the King. She flinched at the sight of the pale, dead body on the throne.
After seeing everything, including their conversation, she retracted her fingers from his forehead and was annoyed for some reason.
"Did you call me a 'filthy demon'?" She glared daggers at him.
Kyou gulped in fear, "I-It's not my fault! If I didn't show how much I hated you, then how would they believe me?"
She sighed after hearing his explanation.
"Whatever. The King did say you to be good friends with me. How are you gonna do that?" She crossed her arms and asked.
Kyou rubbed his chin and thought for a while,
"Hmm... that's right. How about...we go somewhere tomorrow since it's a weekend? Maybe that will help us to be good friends..?"
"That might work. We can give it a shot. We can do that often as a proof of our friendship. " She nodded after giving it a thought.
"So..have any idea where we will be going tomorrow?" Kyou asked.
"How about we go to the nearby festival? I saw a flier about a festival taking place in this area. There will be fireworks, food stalls, game stalls, etc." She replied excitedly.
"I haven't gone to one of those since I started middle school. I m quite excited to go there myself." He replied with a smile.
"Ok, then it's settled! We will go to the festival!" She smiled joyfully.
The rest of the day, Kyou spent his time talking to Ae Rin about the beasts in the dungeon and that man as well as going updating the organisation's men about the progress of the task he was given.
He explained to them how he got access into her house and about their plans for tomorrow. The men said him that they will be watching the two of them in case he tries anything reckless. Kyou gave them the details of the place and time. And soon after their conversation, he returned to her house and told everything to her.
Soon after, he went back to his bed expecting the next day to go smoothly and drifted off to sleep.
