Days were going smoothly and they were effectively able to fool the people of the organisation.
"I just came from a meeting with the organisation's men. Our plan is working." Kyou smiled confidently and she smiled back.
*Riinngg*
"What the-? This is unusual..." Kyou frowned as he looked at the message in his phone.
"What happened?" Ae Rin asked.
"They want to see me again; saying that they have something important to tell me..." He looked at her and replied.
"They are trying to do something and it's late at night. I will come with you." She said worriedly.
"No need for that. You are overthinking it. It's probably just what they mentioned. I will quickly go and come back." He forced out a wry smile to assure Ae Rin and walked out of the house after waving goodbye to her.
He closed the door behind him while still looking at his phone for switching on the flashlight since it was dark outside.
As soon as the flashlight was turned on, the light fell on the bushes on the yard of the house.
He turned to the other direction and started walking down the streets but was interrupted by a rustling sound a few metres from where he was standing.
Surprised by the sound, he turned around and walked near the bushes to see what caused the sound.
"Huh? I thought I heard something..." He frowned confusedly when he found nothing near the bushes.
While he was busy in his thoughts, a hand tightly clasped over his mouth from behind him and another large hand grabbed his hands.
"Mnngngggghh!!" The large hand clasped over his mouth also covered his nose which made him suffocate and he was struggling to escape from the person's grasp.
The person knocked him unconscious and his vision became blurry and then dissipated to black.
*After 2 hours*
Ae Rin was becoming restless every second and was pacing back and forth in her room anxiously.
"Why is he not here yet? Why is it taking so long?" Severe thoughts flooded her mind but she tried to shake them off.
"I can't just sit here like an idiot! I will go check upon him." She dashed out of her room and made her way to the door.
As she was about to reach for the door knob, there was a knock on her door.
She hesitated to open the door and peered through the peephole.
She saw her neighbour's little daughter standing there and she sighed in relief.
She peeled off her weary and dull look and replaced it with a beaming face before opening the door.
"Lily? What's the matter? Did you need something?" She asked softly and invited her in.
The little girl looked at her anxiously with a worried look on her face, "Sissy, I saw a bad man taking big brother Kyou away. The man was so scary and huge. Will he hurt big brother?"
Ae Rin's eyes grew wide in shock but seeing the little girl so scared, she kneeled down on the ground to match the girl's height and took her hands into hers.
"Don't worry, he will be alright. And, um...was the man wearing a weird, black clothes?" She asked gently.
"Uh-huh. I saw it from my window." The little girl nodded and replied with a frown.
"Thank you for saying this. Sissy will go and save your big brother from those bad people and he will be playing with you in no time! You can go back and wait for him, okay?" She reassured the little girl and the girl nodded and walked away with a hopeful smile.
As soon as the girl was gone, Ae Rin's smile dissipated and turned into anger as she rushed out of her house.
She suspected Kyou to be at the organisation's hideout and without any further thinking, she ran as fast as she could.
On the other hand, Kyou, who was kidnapped by an unknown person, was inside a dark chamber, unconscious on a chair. His hands were tied behind him to the chair with strong ropes.
*Splashhh*
A bucket full of cold water was splashed onto his face and his eyes fluttered open accompanied with a heavy gasp.
His clothes and face were drenched in water. He looked up as droplets of water rolled down his jaws and forehead.
He was met with the same familiar grin and red hair.
"Welcome back, Kyou Agatsuma. You have quite enjoyed your time in the outside world, haven't you?" The same raspy, cold and dark resonating voice introduced itself to him.
Kyou's vague vision became clear and he flinched as he examined the place. Realisation flooded his mind.
He was in the King's chamber.
He took a deep breath and replied, "What's with the sudden meeting? I have already given you the information you needed for today."
He tried to be as calm as possible and not sound unconvincing.
The voice sighed dramatically, " Oh, are you still going to pretend? It's time you take a break."
Kyou froze in shock and his heart almost stopped beating for a moment.
