Many years had passed and Ae Rin didn't know any better than to give up on her dream to become a celebrity because she knew that she would bring disaster to herself and the others around her quite easily if she becomes famous. She payed a visit to the company who wanted to recruit her and told them she could not do it for..personal reasons and gladly, they understood her point.
Right after the 'big disaster' and her recovery from her injuries, she decided to become a doctor with her aim to cure people and instill life into them instead of hurting them. Years later her hard work, she was finally able to become an experienced neurologist, admired by everyone, just as she wanted to. Even though she had moved on in her life, the guilt of doing something so horrible to Kyou still remained deep within her heart. She has no idea whatsoever of which part of the world could he be in at the moment, or if he's still alive or not.
She lived in constant fear of Flare and the King ever again harming the people close to her. As a result, she shifted to a different country, which was London, where she grew up to become a neurologist.
And as of now, she lives a peaceful life where she thinks no one from her home country knew her.
And just as usual, she woke up to a bright morning and slipped into her red shirt and black jeans with a pair of boots and her hair tied into a high ponytail.
She carried an elegant, black handbag on her left arm and marched out of her two-storey house to the hospital.
She smiled cheerfully and waved at her colleagues as soon as she entered the premise and they smiled back at her as she swiftly walked past them to her cabin with a nurse Hannah following closely behind her, ready to fill her with her schedule for the next few hours and the update of the conditions of her patients.
"Dr. Rin! Mr. Wilson's condition doesn't seem to be improving, it's worsening. He will need an emergency surgery. There are chances of him dying within the next 2-3 hours. And Ms. Claire's heart beat, blood pressure level and breathing is stable. She will be gaining consciousness within a few days' time." The nurse said as she tagged along into Ae Rin's cabin.
"How much time do I have till the surgery? Everything's prepared?" Ae Rin asked as she slipped into her green scrubs.
"Yes, ma'am. Everything has been prepared. The patient is in the operation theatre." She replied.
" 'Kay, then let's go." Ae Rin said as she headed to the second floor and then into the quiet operation theatre with other doctors and the unconscious patient lying on the bed.
She positioned herself comfortable near the stretcher where the patient was lying down.
"Pass me the scalpel." She said as she gestured the nurse.
She pressed the sharp blade against the skin and blood poured out as she continued.
The tumour was taken out and the surgery was successful. She smiled at her success and stepped out of the operating room.
She took off the surgical mask and the gloves.
"Good work today, Rin. The last part was tough but you pulled it off." One of the doctors stepped out and patted on her shoulder.
The next step was to inform the family about the surgery.
She stepped into the waiting room where Mr. Wilson's wife and old mother sat, anxiously waiting for the news.
As soon as she stepped in, their gaze shifted from the floor to Ae Rin and they rushed to her side.
"H-how is he? Were you able to save him?" The old mother asked anxiously. Her eyes were already red because of crying all night.
Ae Rin looked at the mother and wife sadly and replied, "Sorry...I-I..I just..He..."
"Don't say me you couldn't...." The wife was at the verge of breaking down into tears.
"HE IS ALIVE!!" She laughed.
They were relieved and were laughing at her silly prank.
"How could you! You evil brat! I almost got a heart attack." The mother pinched her cheeks playfully.
"Oh, that wouldn't be a problem. We have skilled cardiologists here in this hospital as well!" She laughed again and the mother playfully smacked her arm. That helped their moods to lighten up a lot.
"Jokes apart, your husband and your son is alive and kicking. You can pay him a visit tomorrow although we are not sure when he will be gaining consciousness. But don't worry, it won't take too long." She smiled and reassured them.
"You are an angel! Thank you for saving my husband. We had him checked by several other doctors but they couldn't do anything about it. I m so grateful to have you save my husband." The wife said with gratitude in her eyes.
"Oh, please. I m no angel. That's the least thing you would expect me to be. I just did my job and that's it. I m happy I was the one to save your son." She smiled warmly.
"Dr. Rin! There's a patient in room 206 requiring your assistance." Nurse Hannah reported.
"Oh, alright. I will see you both later." She waved goodbye to them and headed to her next patient.
The day went by in a rush. Making tours of almost the entire neurology department from one patient to the other and she returned home with exhaustion written all over her body.
"I am home..." She said as she removed her shoes and entered her house only to be greeted by her brother making dinner.
"Huh? That's unusual. You're home early today." She eyes widened in surprise.
"Ah, that. I finished my work early so I decided to prepare dinner for both of us since it's always you." He smiled softly.
They ate and chatted about how their day was. After what seemed like hours, they finally went to sleep.
