The whole idea of a dead body on the King's throne made him curious and he couldn't sleep for almost half of the night. The image of the sinisterly grinning dead body flashed back in his mind.
"I should stop thinking about him. Oh, right! I have to update Ae Rin about what I saw!" He said as he crouched in one corner of the cell and took deep breaths.
" 'If you picture my face in your mind, then I can connect to you telepathically ;)' That's what she said! Ok....focus...focus..." He sat and started to picture her in his mind. But...What he imagines was: A girl with one drooping eye and wrinkled skin.
"What the?! Why am I imagining an old hag?! I must've gone mad! Let's do this again..." He closed his eyes and focused again. This time, he got it right.
Finally, he could feel her presence inside his mind.
"WHAT'S GOING ON THERE?!! ARE YOU OK?! THEY DIDN'T CUT OFF YOUR LIMBS OR TONGUE, RIGHT?! YOU DIDN'T DIE, RIGHT?!!! " Ae Rin's screaming voice shocked the hell out of Kyou.
" If I m dead then how am I contacting you?! You're saying as if you WANT those things to happen!!!" Kyou yelled in irritation.
"Right. Thank God! Ok, so what's the news? Found anything?" Ae Rin asked in a serious tone.
"About that, they took me to the King and he agreed to be partners with me but wants to keep me under his men's watch.. but..the strangest thing was that, there was a dead body on the King's throne! A voice from the room was talking to me and claimed to be the King. When I asked the guards, they simply ignored me. Could the dead body be your..?" Kyou replied.
She gasped after hearing the details he had collected and said, " My father doesn't have a body. Don't let your guard down. The King will never think of you as one of them. He thinks of this as a game. He uses his pawns and when the time comes, they are thrown off the game no matter how much they did for them As for now, just try not to be suspicious."
Kyou nodded in agreement. His attention was diverted elsewhere when he heard the footsteps coming down the dungeon.
"They're coming! Later!" He hurried off to his usual, miserable pose.
"I wonder what the King's motives are. I have to finish him off or else...Aamon will be.." Ae Rin's face goes pale when she remembers her father.
*ding dong*
She turned around and rushed to open the door.
"Hey, Rin. How was the graduation party? Uh... where's that boy? Whatever his name was." Ren entered the house and greeted Ae Rin with a warm smile even after getting tired from the journey.
But his smile turned into a frown when he saw her pale face, "Did... something happen to the boy?"
"I..sent him to the Crew Of Death.." she said with a gloomy expression.
"What?! Wait.... Don't tell me he died!" Ren gasped in shock.
"NO! He is progressing with the plan but...the King is quite tricky. I just hope he doesn't get killed or anything..." she replied and then slowly proceeded to tell him about everything that Kyou told her.
"Hmm..he is making good progress but I can't be sure of the King. He might just kill Kyou anytime he wants. That boy needs to be careful with what he does and says..." Ren continued, "And I was just wondering...how are you going to kill the King? Isn't he powerful?"
Ae Rin smirked slightly, "Don't worry about that. His power comes from a source which is Aamon. If I can just somehow destroy the book containing the methods to bring him back, then we are safe."
Ren was slightly relieved by her reply. But the main problem still lies ahead.
"What will you do if something happens to the boy?" Ren asked in a serious tone.
She was taken aback by his question. She stood up and turned her back to go to her room.
"I will go and save him before any danger comes his way." She said before going back to her room.
