Slowly walking down the streets of the city under the light of the day Gunner explored the surroundings. He could hear the sounds of the hell hound, Jaegar, following him from a short distance. It was unclear to him whether or not the beast was waiting for an opening to kill him or if the beast was up to something else but he paid it no mind as long as it left him alone. The sounds of the beast growling would fill the quiet air every so often as it tried to randomly catch wild birds that would land upon the ground in front of them. At times Jaegar would even desperately rush past Gunner in order to pounce at them before his feet could scare the birds away. Looking back at Gunner the beast bellowed out a deep growl as it's ears pinned back against itself.
"Even if you look at me like that I don't plan on helping you catch them." Gunner said as he turned away in order to ignore the beast's attempt to gain his attention. It felt as though the hell hound was trying to coerce him into helping it gain more food after he had fed it earlier.
As the two of them worked their way round a street corner his line of sight connected with that of a group of hell hounds that were gathered up ahead of them. Not taking long to become noticed by the group of hell hounds his gaze had quickly been met with their blood hungry glares. Jaegar at his side was already slowly backing up his own body as if to hide from the pack that had cast him out to his own fate.
"So much for being a hound from hell." Gunner gave a faint laugh under his breath at the way the beast began to turn and flee from the street, leaving him behind to fend for himself. It did not shock him in the least that Jaegar would choose to flee at the sight of his own kind when his own species had already cast him out.
Not giving him enough time to be left in the dust of the fleeing beast he followed behind Jaegar. Forcing himself to run as hard as he could in order to keep up with the beast as they ran side by side he could hear the wild beasts on their trail from behind. The sounds of their bellowing growls flooded the streets as they refused to give up the chase. He could hear the sounds of their nails clacking against the paved ground and the way they'd body slam their way through any trash that blocked their way.
BOOM!
There was a sudden loud noise from behind where the beasts were chasing him. A blinding purple like enveloped the street causing Gunner to come to a stop as a rumbling sound began to shake the buildings and trees from all around. Turning his head to check from behind he could see a man standing firm between him and the pack of hell hounds. Pink hair flew about the air around the man likes it was flowing among waves of a river while giving off a purple glow that felt hot. It almost seemed as though the man was set ablaze with a purple flame as his face simply smiled cheerfully.
"I knew it wouldn't take long to find you, my sweet hound." Apollo said as he casually glanced back at Gunner. Flipping his tail about the air he did not allow his attention to leave the hell hounds that stood before him for long.
"Apollo?" Gunner wanted to ask what the man was doing out of the safety zone there with him but his thoughts were interrupted by the sight in front of him. He had never seen the man fight before but there was something about the way he moved that seemed elegant and beautiful. Even if the man was out for the blood of the hell hounds he still could not break free from his natural beauty that could leave one speechless.
Apollo's figure as he darted head on at the pack of beasts was calm and collected. His eyes never wavered in the slightest as his ears pinned firm against his head. Using his tail to wrap around the necks or legs of beasts he could easily send them flying of hurdling into the ground face first. Every time his fist collided with that of a wild beast their fur and skin would become scorched by the blazing purple flame that covered his body from head to toe. The speed his body moved at caused his hair to always float about the air as though he was simply swimming through the air like he was in a pool.
Gunner did not leave Apollo to fend for himself alone against the beasts. Pulling his knife from his pocket he shot forward at one beast after another. Severing their vital points one at a time he was able to take down multiple hell hounds but he was no where near the same level as the demon Apollo who could fight with ease against them. With the two of them working together it did not take long before they were all taken care of. If any beasts had survived they surely escaped for the sake of their lives.
Glancing to the side in order to check his surroundings for Jaegar, Gunner realized that the beast had run off as well during the struggle to take down the pack. He could only consider the idea that the beast was worried about Apollo turning on him as well during the fight. Letting out a sigh of relief after making sure that Jaegar was not among the fallen hell hounds he felt it was best to leave the existence of Jaegar to only himself for now when it came to Apollo or Prince Clyde. He was not sure how they would take the news of a hell hound following him around the city as if he was a domesticated beast when the hell hound infestation was one of the very problems in the city.
