The warm breeze of the day felt cool from the height they were soaring. Barely needing to move its wings in the slightest they were able to glide quickly throughout the city as the wyvern held them within its talons. Every so often a rumbling sound could he heard from the belly of the beast as it carefully gazed upon the surroundings as they moved. Warmth could be felt from the wyvern's scales as Gunner slid it hands against the foot of the beast trying to make himself a bit more comfortable.
"Where are you taking us?" Gunner called out to it but the wind was so strong that he had to raise his voice in order to be heard. As he spoke Apollo's long pink hair had to be repeatedly brushed from his face from how closely they were held together in the talons.
"Are you worried, Human? Does it prefer to be released here?" The wyvern spoke without a hint of joke behind its voice as it slightly acted as though it would drop them from the sky itself if he continued to complain. A faint laugh could be heard as it felt Apollo's tail tighten around its talon in order to brace himself.
"No. I just wondered where you're taking us." Gunner spoke further as he tried to press for an answer.
The wyvern did not reply to him no matter how he pressed it for a response. It did not hold even the slightest interest in making conversation with a human without reason. Throughout the wyvern's life none had dared stand against it and therefore it saw his action as something unusual when most would cower before it. No matter how highly he thought of the human's character it still would not waver and allow itself to be ordered around. If it lowered itself to a human level it felt as though it would be tossing its own pride as a wyvern aside.
No longer flying forward the wyvern hovered in the air. Pounding the wide wings roughly against the wind the beast still held an air of elegance as it raised its feet in front of itself. The talons of the beast opened as Apollo and Gunner lay there on the palm of the wyvern's foot confused. Their eyes were gazing up into the baby blues that gazed right back down at them from the massive white beast. Glistening white and gold under the sunlight there in the sky as they hovered the beast almost seemed godly before them.
"I don't like the way this is beginning to look.." Apollo mumbled to himself as he tried to consider the options of why the beast would halt in the middle of the sky above the city. He could not help but worry they would be thrown to their deaths.
"Human, Look to the south." Its voice called out to them calmly as it raised its own head to gaze into the southern distance of the city. From above the city looked beautiful under the natural growth of nature even though it was but ruins of what was once the strong city of Abaron.
"Why the south?" Gunner asked subconsciously as he gazed out into the distance like the beast requested of him.
"Human, from here do you really see such a pitiful sight?" The wyvern asked him simply without turning its head back to look at Gunner.
"No, to be honest it looks quite beautiful up here." Gunner gave an honest reply to it while turning his head to look up at the wyvern. He could see a glimpse of what looked like pain in the wyvern's blue eyes without it turning to look back at him.
"There lay a natural order to life just as there lay a natural order to all things. Like all things even the city must come to an end at some point. Does this city truly need aid? A day shall come forth when you must decide.. is the city worth restoring or should it be allowed to fall to the natural order of life?" The wyvern spoke slowly as if to ensure Gunner and Apollo heard every word it spoke to them.
"Fall to the natural order of life?" They both asked in unison.
"In order to restore a simple human's dwelling that was once a plague to the natural life among the land would you not be required to destroy what has become a haven for many of other lifeforms? It is not just hell hounds in which are being hunted and chased from their own homes among the city. Life's natural course has already allowed plant life t o thrive which humans plunder and destroy."
It was not as if the wyvern was speaking wrongly to them so they could not stop themselves from listening to its words. As the three of them all gazed out into the southern part of the city they could see how strong the plant life had quickly risen over the years since the war. They all knew well that hell hounds were not the only beasts among the city of Abaron; there were a great number of various species that lived among the ruins. The only reason the hell hounds were obsessed over was because they were the main beast that openly plagued the streets in order to hunt out of their desperation over the lack food.
"Thank you for your words of advice." Gunner respectfully bowed his head to the white wyvern that held them in the palm of his foot.
"Remember my words well, human.. A day shall come when you must decide wholeheartedly the true fate you desire for Abaron. Take this in-site as my gift to you. What is your name, human?" The wyvern asked as it blinked slowly down at them for a split second as if it was trying to respectfully return the head bow that Gunner had done. It was unclear, however, so they spoke nothing of it to refrain from insulting the beast if they were wrong in their judgement of its action.
"Gunner. My name is Gunner, not human." He spoke up to the beast while hoping that it would stop using the word human to refer to him.
"I shall remember you for our paths may cross once again, human.. No.. Gunner. Remember my name well for I am Roa." The wyvern said before grasping them once more in order to descend from the skies.
