"LOVE between different paths? That's so…heart-piercing." Reiji commented.
"I know." Selene said diffidently. She already expected him to react. "I've been through a lot. I wanted my readers to deem that in this world, isn't all about stars and rainbows."
"Do you believe in magic, Selene?" he suddenly asked.
"No."
"Why?"
"Magical things serve as the outcome of fantasies. I don't want to believe in false hopes. I might end up being hurt, probably."
Unexpectedly, Reiji caught her arms and led her to stand. They're in front of each other, standing as their glances became connected once again.
"Selene, in this place, at this hour…" Reiji held her hands fondly. "Can you be my magic?"
She was speechless.
"W-what?"
"You told me that magical things serve as the outcome of fantasies right?" he merely corrected. "How about if you serve as my magic? I don't think you're just a fantasy, Selene."
Apparently, Selene was dumbfounded by his revelation. She couldn't find the right words to reply to him. Her throat recently became dry.
"My question is just a piece of cake, Selene. Can you be my magic?"
"T-that's…" she cleared her throat. "That's impossible."
"Listen carefully, my dear." Reiji pointed up the sky as they both looked up the sky where stars are visible. "Right beneath those stars in the sky, I gained faith that nothing is impossible between us."
After hearing Reiji's words from the bottom of his heart, Selene, behind the bliss she felt, left her a tear falling down from her eye.
D*mn, there's no reason for her to leave this man, her bestfriend whom she started to love very deeply and irrevocably.
