Chereads / Soul Hegemon / Chapter 7 - Cliff Island

Chapter 7 - Cliff Island

"You should say goodbye to your friends down in the village." Suggested Roland.

Elijah's mouth twitched, "Grandpa I don't have friends..."

His grandparents had tried many times to find friends for him but....Elijah was just too old for them, he rather trained or read all the day. He couldn't endure the kids of his age.

Roland sighed, "Right..."

"I would like to see grandma, when is she coming back from her trip to her clan?"

"In a few weeks Elijah, well she will visit you on Cliff Island when she comes back. Take this, there is all the stuff inside you need to survive." Said Roland while giving Elijah a simple bronze ring.

Elijah took the ring and looked confused at Roland.

"Drop your blood on it and you will know."

He frowned but did as ordered, part of his mind entered a small space the moment his blood landed on the ring. There was a lot of food, clothes, blades and other things he would need to survive on an island.

He excited the space with a thought, "Grandpa this is awesome what is this ring?" Asked Elijah, visibly surprised.

"It's a Bronze Rated Space Ring, it is now bound to you and there is a small space inside it which you can use to store non living things inside. You can take them out of it with your thoughts." Explained Roland calmly.

Elijah recalled how his Second Uncle took out the Bloodline Crystal out of nowhere.

'That's how he did it...'

An exquisite looking sail boat appeared beside them, landing softly on the snowy ground. Roland entered it, turning around facing the flabbergasted Elijah.

"Coming?"

Elijah hesitated a moment before following his grandfather on the sailboat.

It started to fly up the moment he sat down, shocking Elijah.

It flew high into the sky and took off.

A trail of silver colored mana was left behind wherever the sail boat passed.

"Grandpa what is this? And how is it able to fly?" Asked Elijah astonished.

"Hahaha this is a Bronze Rated flying artifact, just like the space ring it is bound to me. It flies as long one pour enough Soul Flux inside it."

"So cool grandpa, can I have one too?"

"Not for now, you are only a Rank-2 Warrior right now. Your Soul Flux wouldn't be enough for it to fly more than 10 minutes."

Elijah was dejected, "Will you give me one when I'm strong enough?"

"Of course, no one should say that I don't spoil my favorite grandson hahaha."

They traveled two hours before reaching a huge island.

Looking down at it Elijah through, 'No wonder it's called Cliff Island, it is completely surrounded by cliffs.'

The flying sailboat descended slowly, hovering over a forest.

His grandfather patted his shoulder, "Good luck Elijah, don't disappoint me."

"I got this grandpa, see you then." Said Elijah before jumping out of the boat.

Snow was kicked up when he landed on the ground. Elijah looked curious around.

He then looked up, watching the sail boat slowly becoming smaller while flying up into the vast sky.

He finally turned back to the forest when the boat couldn't be seen anymore.

"Let's do this!" Stated Elijah while licking his lips in anticipation.

Up in the sky behind the clouds Roland could be seen standing on the sailboat, it suddenly vanished leaving Roland floating relaxed in the air. His gaze never left Elijah.

A light flashed through his green eyes, before he started to stroking his silver beard.

-----------------------------------

Elijah had be wandering through the snow filled forest for 10 minutes now without meeting any living thing.

He closed his long white winter mantle that reached down to his feets. He took out a pair of leather gloves out of his space ring, putting them on.

*HOWL*

Elijah's head turned to the source of that savage howl to his right.

"Well that didn't took too long for some to appear." Whispered Elijah to himself.

Five ferocious looking purple furred wolves walked out between the trees.

They started to circle around Elijah like predators. Elijah was calm, two blades appeared on each of his hands.

A bit larger purple wolf squinted its eyes when it saw the blades appear. A threatening growl came from its throat.

Suddenly all five wolves pounced at Elijah at the same time. They moved really fast, reaching Elijah in seconds.

Sharp sounds echoed through the forest and blood fly through the air.

Elijah looked down at the two dead wolves which had deep wounds on their necks, with blood gushing out. Drops of blood ran down from his blades, landing on the snowy ground turning it red.

The remaining 3 wolves retreated back the moment they saw two of their kind being killed.

The larger wolf howled madly before pouncing with the other two wolves at Elijah again with killing intent.

'Yeah, I get it now...' Killing intent radiated out from his body.

His body started to move too.

He dashed forwards, hacking down at the first wolf with his right blade, it tried to avoid his attack but, its head was merciless separated from its body. Blood spattered around.

Elijah swirled around, avoiding the claws and fangs form the larger wolf. His left blade suddenly started to blur, aiming at the second lager wolf. The sharp sound coming from his blade confused the larger wolf who couldn't follow his blurry slashes.

*HOWL*

The second small wolf fell lifeless on the ground with its head almost separated from its body.

The larger wolf flinched back, fear engulfed its mind.

A faint sharp aura surrounded him slowly, "Too swallow...well I still have time to perfect it. I finally reached the Aura Stage of Silver Stream." Muttered Elijah to himself. He slashed a few times at the air with his blades, his attacks were sharp and fast, becoming blurry.

Elijah turned to the last wolf, it flinched back, showing signs of fleeing.

"I want to try something different on you...." Said Elijah creepily while pushing his black headband up.

The larger purple wolf froze the moment Elijah's gaze of silver draconic eyes fell on its body.

Something strange happened, a small image of the wolf left its body, it was strangely sucked into Elijah's left eye.

Elijah closed his eyes immediately afterwards. He could use them longer now and wouldn't faint after using them but it drained his Soul Flux at a fast rate.

He found himself inside his Soul Space. He saw the large purple wolf facing the still immature little panther puppy.

Elijah was worried, the wolf was many times bigger than the puppy. But the wolf didn't move at all, it was actually shaking in fear. The panther puppy opened its draconic silver eyes and opened its mouth.

Elijah's mouth was wide agape when he watched the soul of the wolf being devoured by the puppy without able to resist at all.

The Soul Space started to shake violently after the puppy devoured the wolf completely, cracks appeared on the edges of the space.

Rainbow Mana entered through the cracks, finally shattering the boundaries.

Silver Light shot out from the body of the little black panther.

Elijah sensed that his Soul Space grew bigger, the puppy grew a bit larger too.

He was kicked out of his Soul Space, Silver Light was dancing around him and he felt the hot energy running through his body becoming greater and purer.

'I became a Rank-3 Warrior just like that?!' Elijah was ecstatic, it was the first time he used his eyes on others and he thought that it was a bit too strong.

'Well grandma and grandpa can withstand my eyes, I guess I can only devour souls from beings that have a similar strength as me...'

-----------------------------------

"Hmm? So fast? He reached the Aura Stage in Silver Stream and became a Rank-3 Warrior? And how come that his killing intent is already this thick?" Muttered Roland behind the clouds with a shocked expression.

He couldn't see Elijah devouring the soul form the Tier 1 Demonic Beast Purple Wolf. He only saw Elijah staring at it for a few seconds before the wolf collapsed on the ground like dead meat.

'Like I thought, his eyes are really unique.'

And about Elijah's thick killing intent...how could Roland ever guess that Elijah was a reincarnated ex-soldier who had been through war?

"Hahahahahaha that's my favorite grandson!" Laughed Roland heartly amidst the clouds, not caring about Elijah's thick killing intent. There have always existed individuals with that kind of.....killing nature.
