Daniel opened his eyes slowly. Rubbing his eyes he looked around him, quickly spotting Carl and Saya, bundled up separately around him. He also spotted some bottles of fruit wine and leftover food from the night before.
'I knew it. Drinking isn't fun, I can't even remember last night properly.' Daniel mentally tsk'd.
After coming out of the sleeping bag he looked at what he was wearing. It was the inner layer of his armor, which was a skin-tight suit with padding in several places.
'Did I do this? Or did someone else?' His eye twitched in injustice.
He got up and grabbed his second layer which was a gel-like layer and then the actual armor. After having his full armor suit he felt less naked and exposed. He visibly sighed and his shoulders dropped a bit.
He pondered what he should do.
"Good morning! Mr. Daniel, are you awake? Mr. Enfred has entrusted me to get you, if you aren't awake I will walk inside and wake you up myself!" A young male voice spoke up. His tone like that of a hooligan with bragging rights.
"I'm awake! I'll be right out!" He replied, thereafter quickly writing on the ground next to Saya and Carl.
'I'm setting out, I hope to see you guys again! Train hard! You know I will!' The sound of his finger rubbing against the dirt stopped after he finished.
He walked out of the tent, finally laying his eyes on the young soldier who called out earlier and threatened to wake him.
The young soldier was much shorter than him. He had dirty blonde hair and soft blue eyes, his face stained with dirt.
"Hello! My name is Ether and my job is to get you freshened up and ready for the journey with Adora and Mr. Enfred." His jolly attitude was very prominent in contrast to Daniel.
"Alright, I'm ready."
"This way. Mr. Daniel."
They walked across the village to the western side of the wall. Many villagers were now going about their business, feeding the livestock or washing their clothes. The bird calls and insects chirping filled his ears, as well as the squishy sounds of boots against wet mud.
There was a small hut off to the side of the village, very close to the Main Wall.
'Mr, this is where you can wash. After you are done we'll head over to the western exit where Mr. Enfred and Adora are staying.
Daniel walked and quickly freshened up. After taking a bath with warm water he walked out feeling refreshed. The cool breeze was a much-needed tonic as he stepped out.
Daniel had always preferred the cold.
He soon spotted Enfred and Adora, who was already waiting at the exit for him.
"You ready, Daniel?" Enfred had a soft smile on his face, which made him look almost constipated.
"Yes, I've said my goodbyes. Thank you for waiting. " Daniel also nodded toward Adora with the ladder returning the gesture.
"No need for such trivial matters. We'll depart now, stay still." Enfred grabbed both of them by the shoulders before a soft humming sound filled their ears.
'What the heck is-' Daniel's thoughts were interrupted by a blue bubble that morphed and encapsulated them within. A bright white light filled his vision before he felt weightless.
In the next moment, his face slammed into the dirt.
Spitting it all out he looked around, only to notice that the village was gone. Before him was a grand new scene.
Enfred, Daniel, and Adora stood on a mountain peak, below them were several tents, a giant tower, and a few sturdy buildings.
Suddenly intense nausea hit him. He turned to the side and wretched hard, throwing up everything but his guts.
"I forgot to tell you about the nausea or the teleporting didn't I?" Enfred wore an embarrassed look. It was kind of disgusting.
Daniel jokingly glared at his teacher while Adora simply whistled and looked the other way.
"How come I'm the only one who almost turned his insides into outsides?" Daniel's indignant tone was filled with injustice.
"Daniel, you have no cultivation. At present, your body is just stronger compared to ordinary mortals. In fact, while I'm unguarded you shot me back! Normal people can't even hit me without hurting themselves." Enfred explained slowly as he looked at Daniel.
"I still ended up hurting myself!" He exclaimed.
"An ordinary mortal would have lost their leg due to the recoil. But that's beside the point young one. I apologize for not giving you due notice." Enfred then bowed.
Daniel stood up and dusted himself off while also wiping away the leftover vomit on his chin.
'This place is amazing. It's like several different biomes exist within such a small space.'
"This is my home, The Myriad Reserve. A haven for talented individuals and the first academy to gain five stars in all categories from the Sentinel Central Command.
'This is my future home?' He could see a forest, next to a small desert, which also had a jungle next to it, and even a snow-covered mountain to the left.
He could also see tiny people practicing combat, some were sitting in the grass studying, and others were simply sitting on the grass with books, or what looked to be scrolls.
This will be his first step in the journey which is his new life.
