Chapter 12 - Causing Mayhem 3

After leaving that hidden alley way, Miguel monitored the movements of witch named Felicia. She was heading to a direction different from his own. Miguel felt more secure that she wasn't associated with the redhead but this witch may cause trouble for him in the future. He would have to think about it at some other point.

Miguel crossed the street and made way to the adventurers guild. He even passed Lydia who was not that far away. The closer he got to the guild the more adventurers he saw, it was relieving though, Miguel hadn't seen anyone with a tag of high rank. That is, anything that's silver and above.

'Life Gutter' was working well. It was absorbing the essence of life from everything around it. When Miguel stood right before the tall building of the adventurers guild, he didn't immediately enter. He waited out there.

If he wanted to secure a complete victory, Miguel had to be patient. He just stood out there wearing his worn out clothes as well as the copper tag, not many should take interest in him. If anyone dared to take notice of him, it was usually because of his white hair and eyes as black as coal carrying eerie violet pupils.

Miguel didn't stand in front of the guild building like an idiot. He approached it, leaned on the wall next to the entrance and waited. In the time that passed, many individuals came and left the guild. Some came to collect the rewards for their quests and most came to pick up a quest for their livelihood.

Miguel was patient. Over an hour had passed, in that time he got to learn the nature of things inside the adventurers guild. He also measured the number of people that remained inside the building, Miguel was especially paying attention to the people with the strongest life force.

Unfortunately, while Miguel waited, there was no sign of the redhead he was waiting for.

"Tch, Trina, where the fuck are you?" Miguel noticed that none of the adventurers that came and left the guild were anyone he was looking for. Although he was patient, Miguel was feeling upset.

A burst of unkindness was directed his way.

A large being was stepping in the direction of Miguel. With a muscular and green skinned body, the fierceness that entity brought was something to be reckoned with.

Who was this person? Miguel had no idea. He tried to remember but nothing was close to his experience. The hulk in front of him was an orc.

Miguel redirected the flow of 'Life Gutter', thinning the effects that surrounded the guild building and aimed it at the orc.

The orc was wearing shabby clothes but no one seemed to care, rather, it seemed that the locals found it to be normal.

The orc came forth, although he was wearing clothing befitting the homeless. The orc was equipped with a sword at his back. The sword wasn't drawn, perhaps the muscle head thought Miguel to be a weak individual. When they were close enough, the green one raised a fist to strike the other.

Miguel who was standing nonchalantly, having his back against the wall and a sole planted there too, casually moved forward to receive the punch.

PAK!

A loud sound reverberated throughout the vicinity. It wasn't enough to attract anyone from inside the guild. Only those that were nearby turned to look.

There they saw an orc with his fist slammed against a palm. The sound came from one slapping the other. However, the spectators were surprised to find the slim human holding his own so much so that his action was effortless.

Without warning, Miguel bent his arm. He wasn't at all feeling pressure from the green muscle head, Miguel bent his arm to bring his opponent closer. As for others, they saw it differently.

It appeared that the orc was too strong for Miguel. Some people smirked, it was not everyday that they would be able to see such entertainment but there was those that had an evil smile for another reason. It was Felicia.

The Voodoin witch who had run away crying was looking quite composed now. The orc that had attacked Miguel was something instigated by her. Manipulating others was the forte of the Voodoin Witches and getting a simpleminded orc to do her bidding was rather easy.

After receiving her humiliation, Felicia felt it was natural to take revenge. Being manhandled was not something she could withstand. Thus, she had cast her puppetry on the orc.

Although some people found the scene amusing, not all felt the same. An adventurer of bronze tier found it preposterous for a strong guy bullying the weak.

"Move no further or face my blade," he said.

The silver rank adventurer placed his hand on the sword at his waist. He was ready to dash forward.

BANG!!!

Those who were there for the spectacle had their eyes open wide and anyone who dared to move, like the bronze ranked adventurer, halted their movement.

The next thing astonished them further. The orc stepped back, taking several steps in reverse. Bulky green arms had clutched around his own waist. Half bent, the orc threw up whatever he ate along with his own blood.

The built body fell to it's knees before its head slammed against the ground, over its own bloody vomit. The orc fainted.

Prior to this, when Miguel brought the orc closer to himself. The orc was so close that he heard a whisper by his ear.

"Tell me who sent you. Don't worry I won't kill you if you cooperate," said Minerva's chosen.

At that point the orc was very fearful. He seemed to have come out of his trance. It was like his body had a mind of its own. But now he gained control over it. He knew exactly who had made him attack this stranger but who was she, he didn't know.

"T-Torgo no....know. Torgo only see shaman woman... with... curly hair." He said before passing out.

A shaman woman?

Miguel didn't know many people. He only thought of one person who could be targeting him. Felicia... she was a witch as she had said.

Miguel searched the foe for her life signature and in the next moment he found her. Miguel started to step forward. He was heading straight for Felicia.

All of a sudden a shout came from another location. Miguel ignored it. How can everyone be looking for him?

"YOU THERE! DARE WALK AWAY FROM ME GRANDPA BOYY!

Miguel stopped in his tracks, he thought, "He can't be referring to me 'cause of my white hair."

Miguel glanced at the one who called him out. Walking towards him were a group of people he had never met. They, none of them seemed to be friendly at all.

They all had one thing in common though, each person was from the mercenary guild.

At another corner, Miguel noted that Felicia was laughing her ass off. Was this something done by her? He had question her influence. Perhaps it is better to kill her.

"Grab him boys!"

The man that called out to Miguel gave instructions to his associates. One after the other, they came after the Champ.

Miguel didn't think to run. How could someone who had died fear death?

Since the mercenary guild wants to keep him company, Miguel chose to accommodate them. With flick of his wrist, a knife summoned from the 'Ring of the Dead' sped at the first mercenary.

PAK!!!

The knife flew and hit the victim straight on the face, burying the entirety of the blade. The impact was so great the running man flipped, falling on his back. No one saw that coming. Few of the other men from the mercenary guild tumbled over the dead guy.

Miguel smirked, "You want some, Come!"

Just as the mercenaries were coming at him, Miguel dashed forward. In his hand shimmered a sword. The blade of the sword was thick and long, clearly it could be understood as a two handed weapon. The heavy sword which would require an ordinary strong person to use two hands felt light in the grip of Miguel.

Meeting his next opponent, Miguel went low, lowering his frame, he swung the large sword with gust raising speed.

SHUA!!!

To everyone sensible, astonishment crept on the faces of the public. A man was split in two. Following then, another was cut in two, two was cut in four and the number multiplied a few more times.

Miguel's killing was unfathomable to all around. So many in such a short time. Even the man that had called Miguel out first was so scared that if he didn't hold his urine back he would've soaked his pants already. Some of the mercenaries that was about to attack chose to back off.

"STOPPPPP!!!"

Miguel heard an all to familiar voice. As he was about to close in to his next kill, someone jumped in his way. Miguel saw a redhead, not dressed in the attire of an adventurer but wore an iron plated mail. When he saw the female's face, Miguel cringed at the sight.

He said, "Trina!"
