Miguel initially guessed that the child he met was his nephew. Now, however, after finding out a little more information, like where the residence of the kid is, Miguel can assure himself that this kid was his sister's. Having the same name as himself was not coincidental.
Miguel and young Miguel shook hands earlier. Forming a genuine friendship. Miguel chose not to reveal his actual relationship with the kid. He wasn't sure how it would sound. The main point was that the lingering attachment to family was very strong and Miguel desired for his family members to be safe. At least it shouldn't be as harsh as what they are facing now.
"You seem to know where to find a lot of stones, Miguel?"
"Hehehe, uncle Migz, there are plenty of stones all over the village."
Miguel said, "That's good, I want to collect a whole bucket of stones. But... The stones have to be very hard. Do you know where to find stones that are very hard?"
"Uh huh!" Little Miguel nodded.
The trio, Miguel, the kid and Lydia, walked over to the edge of the village. Miguel took time at this place to calm his nerves and focus his resolve. He sent young Miguel to bring a bucket. Lydia waited with the Champ in the meantime.
After a few moments, the kid named Miguel came back. He carried a bucket made from wood. It was wet like it had just been carrying water. Miguel didn't know if the bucket had water in it or not. If the bucket had water in it, it probably was meant for cleaning purposes.
This world wasn't a modern one. Back in that life time when Miguel was known as Claud, he lived an average life but it was a lifetime with electricity and a place to shower or bath.
This world on the other hand appeared primitive. Although it seemed that way, it was advanced in another way. It had magic but more than that, it had Gods that chose to influence the world whenever they saw fit.
It was something to consider as amazing.
While Miguel sat cross legged on the grass field, he watched the kid run back with the bucket. The kid started to shout, "Uncle Migz, I got it! The bucket, I got it, uncle Migz!"
"That's my boy! Okay, lets go and find some strong stones."
"Uncle Migz, follow me!"
Miguel woke up from the floor, Lydia followed behind. They were lead by the kid. Heading out of the forest, the trio moved towards the river. They followed the river down stream.
In a few minutes, the river opened up to something that resembled a lake. The water was still running but unlike before, the pressure could be resisted. Well, that's if you remain at the shore. Any deeper will lead to some consequences.
"This is the place, uncle Migz."
Miguel replied, "Is this the place were we going to find hard stones?"
"Ya!"
"It's so beautiful over here, isn't it, Milord?" Lydia expressed.
Miguel nodded, he knew this place well. Having grown up in this village, Miguel was well aware of it's surroundings. He didn't need any help in finding stones, in fact, further down is the place were numerous stones sized up to be as big as bricks.
He had asked his nephew to do the minor labour for the sake of making memories. It wasn't just for himself but especially for his sister's kid. This was a way for them to bond.
*****
After some time, the start of noon was approaching. Miguel had more than enough stones in the wooden bucket. Actually, it may be too much.
He thanked the kid, Miguel told him to head over back to his house. He was the man after all. Before leaving, Miguel reminded the kid to meet him at the edge of the village again in the evening.
Lydia went to the meeting place, she knew Miguel was going to be up to something. It was definitely going to be scary. She had enough of the scary already, the swamp elf didn't want to experience more nightmarish experiences.
Miguel walked on. He carried the bucket of stones. The bucket was held as if he had a bucket of popcorn with him. Miguel even fiddled with stones like it was eatables.
In a short amount of time, Miguel reached his destination. The current village head lived atop a hill. His house was fenced and at the entrance stood two guards. Miguel headed towards them very casually.
He didn't wait for them speak, neither did he want to speak with them. Immediately a stone flew from Miguel's hand, then another.
PAK... PAK!!
A stone smashed against the guard, hitting him directly in the face. The same happened to the other guard. The stone came hard and fast. It went and left a hole in the guards heads instantly killing them.
When Miguel strolled over, he took the dead bodies into 'Ring of the Dead'. They can be used under Jacob's influence. Miguel proceeded to enter the property.
There, Miguel saw the house behind the fence. It was no different from the rest of the village, except, the building was double story and slightly wider. Next to it was a shelter not fit for normal living space. Miguel guessed that that was where these guards lived.
Miguel didn't head to the main building, he went for the shelter. The reason being, Miguel felt two more life signatures in the little building. When he came before it, Miguel kicked the door in.
"Good afternoon, gentlemen. I'm here for your lives."
"WHO DAR-"
PAK... PAK!
Stones started flying, immediately crashing onto and into the faces of the guards. One had died instantly and other, although flat on the floor, was still alive. The remaining guard was bleeding profusely from the hole in his head. He was going to die, needless to say. Miguel could feel the man's life force waning.
Miguel didn't do any more, he left the living quarters of the guards and marched towards the main house. There, inside, he found four life forces. Miguel thought two were extremely familiar, like it wasn't strange at all.
He came to the house and entered by forcing himself through the door. Miguel wasn't polite, leaving the broken door behind. On the inside, a lady came out after hearing the ruckus. Immediately, she was met with a stone to the face. No time was even given for a scream, the lady past away.
Soon Miguel found the another person and sent him packing. Miguel didn't leave any bodies behind, storing them inside the special bracelet.
Miguel knew that the village head wasn't here but he should be back at any moment. Right now, Miguel wanted to send all the lives packing regardless of who they are. The reason was simple, he didn't want to leave loose ends that will come back to bite him.
Feeling for the strangely familiar life energy within the building, Miguel figured that there must be some sort of basement somewhere. Eventually he found it. Entering the basement, Miguel found two short girls with pointy ears. It was no wonder that they felt familiar. These two elven girls were very similar to Lydia. They were swamp elves.
They had been chained up to the wall in this dark place. The only light was a dim torch that hung on the wall. The girls were fearful when Miguel came forth, yet, they still kept a strong front.
"You are Lydia's companions?" Miguel asked.
The elven girls didn't reply, there was no way they would say anything regarding a fellow elf. Miguel understood their situation as well. Instead, Miguel approached them swiftly. He may have startled them but he intended to brake the chains that bound them.
SNAP!
"Head to edge of the village that goes towards the river, you will find Lydia there," said Miguel.
He turned away and left them. Miguel toured the rooms of the house and stored away anything of value. Then, Miguel went to the entrance of the house and sat on the porch. He intended to wait for the village head to appear.
While waiting, the two girls came out. Neither one hesitated, both left the property. Miguel already helped them and Lydia, now what they do was up to their own will.
Not long after, the sounds of a carriage could be heard. This was what Miguel was waiting for. As soon as the carriage passed the fence, a stone sped through the air.
PAK!
The coachman died instantly. Another stone came at abnormal speed.
PAK!
A man who was riding a horse next to the carriage flew back, off his horse. Miguel who had been sitting all this while, got up.
He headed for the carriage. Miguel didn't have to enter the carriage, the man from inside came out.
"What's going on here?"
It was the man who Miguel saw enter the house he once lived in. The man who used Bethany. Miguel thought he would do something to make this guy feel miserable but...
SHUA!!!
A stone came at the man without notice.
PAK!!!
The man, who was the village head died. Miguel collected the man's body and took ownership of the carriage. He stored away the tax that was collected and drove the carriage down the hill.
Miguel said, "At least this is over."
