So this was the surprise my parents had for me, they were actually going to be teaching me and the two hundred other first year students, but not just them, the rest of the dragon kings were also here. Looks like this would be the most exciting semester the academy has ever had. Apart from the fact that my parents were now my teachers, my brother and his rabble of friends have become somewhat of a celebrity, after all they fixed a problem in one day, that even the faculty of the academy has not been to fix in eight months.

None the less it seems Mike is becoming a real threat. I've never been one to underestimate my enemies, not even if they're my brother. So if he's now capable of fighting powerful monsters, I'm going to go after him with everything I have.

"Settle down class! Everyone back to their seats. Good! Now most of you know me as Her Majesty Queen Asha of Spero, but within the walls and confines of the academy, you will address me as Mrs. Cor. There are no exceptions to this rule, and failure to comply would see you all serving detention for the rest of the school term. In this class I'm not your Queen, though negligence of that would see you on a swift transport to prison or the executioners axe. In this class I'm no one's friend, no one's goddess and most definitely no one's mother! So stay in line all of you."

It was upsetting to say the least, I had my mother in front of me, but I couldn't call her mom or at the very least utilize our relationship ad mother and daughter to get some benefits. Mother Asha has always been more strict than Mother Xaseah, come to think of it; mother Xaseah is quite indulgent of mine and Michael's antics, wish mother Asha was less strict.

I moved my gaze to the west side of the classroom, on the final row, and on the very last seat. Michael was there with some fresh bandages, the last time I saw him in the infirmary his bandages were thoroughly soaked with blood, and Max was panicking so hard he needed to be sedated. What a pair of weaklings, the only thing I can't seem to fathom was why Lillian wad hanging around them, if you ask me, she's too good for them. I would have loved for her to be in my own Warband, at the very least she would have been a much better partner than that bloody dragon prince of water.

"Alright class attention! I'm going to be teaching you history, etiquette, and politics. But mostly history. It would be very foolish for anyone of you to underestimate my class, it's probably the hardest subject you would have to take in this school. So you better give me all your attention, because if anybody you get below a B plus in any of my quizzes, test or exams, the whole class will pay the price. And believe me the punishment will not be light."

Unlike many of the kids here, I knew exactly what kind of person my mother was, and every word she's just spoken was without a doubt the gospel truth. But none the less o was ready for this, for whatever she has to throw at me, plus I love the fact that she's here, it was all I wanted anyway.

"Alright class today we'll begin our lessons by studying the history of the ancient Cortanik empire. This is going to be the focus of our studies for the next one week, and at the end we'll be having a quiz to understand how much you've learn. Alright! Who here knows anything about Cortanik empire? The whole class has to participate, and the person with the best answer gets a gift.

So history might be my most hated subject yet, even if my mom's the teacher, or maybe that's precisely why I hate the damn subject. Thankfully the next class we have after history was something I could relate to, combat tactics 101, and our teacher is none other than the god of war, the king of the mind dragon, and the psionic general David Johnson . he's a telepath, a telekinetic, and he has the ability to alter the composition of his body down to a molecular level. He was powerful, like so powerful I doubt even my dad would be able to leave a scratch on him, though to be honest I'm not really sure how powerful my dad is.

"Well class! Be at attention would you, I don't feel the need to repeat myself, and that includes you too Lilly Poo."

"DAD!!"

The whole class burst out into laughter, and all at the expense of Lilian, unlike my mother who seems really adamant about putting our familial relationship aside. Though I don't think Lillian would ever be able to live this down, and based on the angry look on her face and the innocent yet mischievous look on her father's face, I knew this little altercation would spark a full blown feud between father and daughter, after all it won't be the first time both father and daughter had a prank war.

"Alright let's settle down. Now when you hear the words combat tactics, I'm sure most of you will be thinking about super powerful techniques, spells and abilities, well maybe not all of you would think that way, but I'm sure 96% of you students only paid attention to the word combat, and completely forgot about the tactics. So let me break it down for you kids, I'm not here to teach you how to fight, what I'm going to teach you is how to win a fight, with little to no effort or loss on your part.

Now this class would be divided into both a singular teaching scheme and a team scheme. But you wouldn't be worrying about team battle tactics until your second semester here, before you learn how to run, you must first learn to work. There's a famous saying from earth, 'know your enemy, know yourself' or something like that. You can't defeat your enemies, or work well with someone else if you're incapable of beating yourself or gauging your own strength. So I'm going to teach you how to fight smart, and how to fight without even lifting a finger."

The whole class was silent for a while as he looked over everyone. He held the silence for over five minutes, psyching up the class and setting our nerves on edge. Then he took a deep breath and said to us.

"Now we're going to play chess, and we'll be doing that for the next two weeks. Everyone must play against each other, there are no teams, and no repeat battles are aloud, unless you're sure you've challenged everyone in the class, in that case your opponent would be me. But until them, onwards and upwards young kings and queens!"

I had a bad feeling about this, just two weeks of playing chess? It can't be that easy, but either way I was going to take up this challenge. And the first person I'm going after, is the one person who I've never beaten in chess yet, not even once. My brother.
