MIKE

It wasn't confusing enough for me, but I think ingot the basic gist of the entire thing. She was bound to me, and even though she still looked like a five year old girl in a maid's uniform, I knew she was much more than that. Somehow her time in the void had changed her, it had given her access to knowledge not seen or heard of, and gave her a mind more mature than even a thousand year old man. It was weird, but this was what it is now, and I couldn't change it.

"Stella aren't you.....don't you want to see your parents?" I asked her.

"Of course Master, but you're my master and when of if I ever get to see my parents again, would be at your own discretion. You would have to take me there yourself anyway, I'm not yet strong enough to be able to survive in the world on my own, I need to be by your side."

"oh!"

I guess that made sense, or at least to some level. But none the less I made a silent promise to myself to make sure she gets to see her parents as soon as I had a chance to go into town. But for now we had to train, but first I had to check her stats.

I had a feeling she wasn't your average soul beast or person, so the conventional training method won't work. Stella could be considered a soul beasts, and at the same time a living being, like she was stuck between the line that divided life and death, just like vampires.

Which means to some extent she could affect the world physically as it would also affect her, unlike Zion who would have some resistance to physical attacks due to the fact that he was a soul, Stella would take the full brunt of it because she was a living being with characteristics and abilities of a soul

Stella was stronger, faster and had more energy than I expected. However even if she could dish a beating, her body was to frail to take any. Which means she and Zion shared a weakness of having very weak defenses, but Zion had it better than she did, he was more soul than flesh, while she was more flesh than soul. She was more suited to physical attacks, and had very good special attacks and speed, while Zion was more suited to special attacks and offering support. They both had poor defenses, which also meant their stamina was not that good.

But all of these isn't the bone of contention here, I had to teach them how to fight, and how to be more aware of their abilities and the battlefield. So the best thing for now, would be a spar, but instead of having them fight each other, I would have them fight me, and me them. Because I needed to learn how to fight too, just like them.

"Okay Stella, Zion we have to get stronger. But before we really focus on training you guys, wrong should have a little spar, let's see what you guys are capable of."

"As you wish master." Stella said with a bow

"Rarrrr!" Zion cutely mewled.

The hidden island within the mountain that was given to us as a dorm had a natural occurring moat around it. Granted the moat was already dried up, it was still a good place to train, and right now I was standing near the edge with Zion and Stella. We all looked at each other completely silent, waiting for who would make the first move, then…..

"RIIIIIIII!!"

Zion's (WAIL) Caught me off guard, and the damage it caused was no laughing matter either. The sound felt like someone was driving a nail into my head and my chest, and it forced me to take a step back, a step that I missed as I went over the edge of the island and fell down six meters to dried out river bed below me. A fall of this magnitude wouldn't even leave a scratch on me, but the sound of Zion's wail seemed to have completely eliminated my defenses or at least brought it down by at least 20%. I cut the side of my head after I landed, causing me to bleed and letting a few trails of blood fall into my eyes as I turned and hunched over in agony, my hands clutching my head.

And then it stopped, and immediately after I heard the sound of a dull thud and a pained mewl. I looked up in time to sense Zion flying through the air, over the river bed, all the way to the other side of the cavern. But just in time my instincts flared, as I turned and rolled over, barely escaping as Stella's glossy black tentacle stabbed into the ground beside my head, causing an explosion of rocks.

I jumped up to my feet and moved towards her, utilizing my superior speed, which at the moment she seemed capable of matching and even surpassing. I threw a right hook at her, but she was the size of a five year old girl, which made throwing that punch at her short form really awkward. She moved her head aside letting my punch fly past her head and over her shoulder, and slamming into the wall behind her, burying my fist up till my elbow in the cold earth behind her.

That was a mistake as she quickly raised her tiny fists and gave me two quick jabs that picked me up and sent me flying back into the opposite wall, burying half my body into it. And it hurt, it hurt a lot. She pulled her tentacle out of the ground, and the tattoos on her body began to glow, along with the tip of her tentacle as she swung it really fast at me. But before the tentacle could touch me, and probably rend a serious chunk of my flesh off my body, a small blur crashed into her form and sent her flying backwards and rolling over the uneven river bed. She let out a cry of pain every time she rolled, and I could find traces of sparkling black blood on the ground. Her defenses were really bad.

My savior was none other than Zion, and he quickly opened his mouth in my direction, about to use (WAIL) now normally that skill hurt like nothing I've ever felt before. But this time I rather not take it head on, and that was because Zion's body was releasing a slight distortion in the air, normally people wouldn't notice it, but I had what most would consider super human eyes. His (AMPLIFY) skill was currently being used, and should I receive any attack from him it's going to hurt a lot more than last time.

So far I've been getting my ass kicked by my own pets, a testament to how strong they really were, and how pathetically weak I was. My ego was bruised yes! But for some reason I couldn't stop myself from smiling, and why was that? Why? I don't really know, but maybe it's because I was beginning to enjoy this, I think I was enjoying it a little too much.
