As I knelt there with a confused expression on my face, I was trying to figure out why Rhythian was so relaxed about this situation, both of us are captured in the magical kingdom of Majiked...but there was one thing that I noticed. I'm kneeling here while Rhythian walking freely and talking to his...sister?
"Hey Tin Can!!! Mind explaining why I am sitting here?!" I yell at Rhythian, causing the guards to be on guard. I pout in annoyance as I have been kneeling here for what I think is minutes now. Rhythian, in a startled expression, looks at me. He walked closer and nodded at the guard, causing the chains to disappear but the shackles didn't. At least I wasn't kneeling anymore, that's a start.
I gave Rhythian a small smile, then slugged him right on the cheek, causing him to be knocked down on the floor. As I did, Jessica let out a quiet chuckle.
"Okay, now that's out of my system...Can I get an explanation now?" I say as I turn to Jessica. She let out a sigh and pointed at Rhythian.
"He can explain everything, he IS the reason why we are doing this..." Jessica lowered her hand and walked closer.
Rhythian let out a quiet groan as he sat up and shook his head to reduce the pain he received. He then stood up and looked at the both of us. He sighed and took a deep breath to answer my questions.
"I...-" Rhythian was then interrupted by a sudden shaking of the island. The shaking went on for a good minute until it went completely calm. Jessica and Rhythian looked at each other, it seemed like that quake, wasn't that normal for this kingdom.
A guard then burst out from the doors in a panicked manner. He looked very worried as his eyes scanned the whole room. As he did, he seemed like he was looking for Jessica.
"General, there seems to be a breach in the island..."He says quietly and calmly like the rumbles we experienced didn't just happen. These people really know how to handle a situation. Jessica seemed awfully worried as she told the guard to gather the troops, then turned her attention to Rhythian.
"Looks like what you said was true..."Jessica says before unlocking Rhythian's chains. Rhythian rubs his wrists before spawning his great sword. Jessica gestures some guards to go with her, after that, she gestured Rhythian to join her. I, on the other hand, was still shackled and confused.
"H-hey! What about me?!" I yell at Rhythian, making him stop. He then turned to me and shouldered the sword.
"Young Draconian, it is too dangerous out there. I need you to stay here..."
"I'm not a little kid anymore! Let me out of these, I can help-"
"NO!" Rhythian yells, making me stop and stand there in silence as rumbling and loud thuds were starting to get louder.
"Mileena, I am trying to keep you safe...It is not safe out there, and besides, I know you can fight, I just don't know if you can fight these opponents." Rhythian explains before turning around and running outside. I was then left alone in the room, I felt angry at Rhythian trying to baby me...
I let out a huge sigh before looking at my magical shackles. I thought of ways of getting out of them and tried them as I did, but none seemed to work. As a last resort, I tried to break them by stretching the chains. The first try did nothing, so I tried again. As I struggled, a soft hum and glow emitted from my arm and the shackles dispersed into mana.
"Yes!" I let out a soft yell of achievement before spawning my bow and running outside.
It took me minutes to get out of the palace, damned thing was like a maze, plus, I didn't know that the roof I fell from, was a teleportation circle. As I found my way to the main gates, familiar sounds were then heard. Sounds I haven't heard of since I was but a young child...
Beyond the walls and door, I could hear screams of anguish, destruction being made, and the sounds of fires crackling, and many more. As those sounds surrounded me, my body felt weak and cold. I took a few steps back, thinking the sounds would disappear. I then crouched down and held my head. As my vision and thoughts were slowly fading, a warm orange light came from my pendant, which caused me to calm down. I looked around and remembered what I was about to do. I took deep breaths, stood up and charged through the door.
As I did, a bright light came through, causing my eyesight to adjust for a second. As they did, I was shown to a very gruesome scene. Something I was again familiar with.
Fires were scattered around the town, demi-humans running away from dangers that chased them, the sounds of despair filling the air...Only this time, I wasn't in it...
I looked into the horizon and saw dark clouds above the island along with worms holes with a purple hue in it. As I looked closer, I saw what looked like monsters and knights coming through. As I was observing the terrifying sight, a loud roar echoed throughout the whole kingdom. and after it, I saw a smoky figure being launched towards the palace. In instinct, I rolled to the side to dodge whatever it was.
It crashed into the walls of the palace, causing it to make a very big hole in it. I coughed and fanned away the dust and looked at what was thrown into the palace. As I did, a very familiar figure came through the hole and dashed forward. It was Rhythian! Whatever he was fighting, it must've been really strong to fling a fully armored man a few thousand meters...
I stood there in shock, as questions filled my head, as usual. This day is the weirdest and scariest I have experienced, ever...
I shook my head to get rid of those thoughts and equipped myself for combat. I ran into town in hopes of helping anyone who is still alive...
