Powers often bring a feeling of superiority over others. But no one mentioned freedom it brought, knowledge of one power over others bing peace, stress-free joy. After a euphoric moment passed and Bael calmed down he realized that he luck something so-called get out of the problem button. Bael knows even whit what he head now would not save him from an overwhelmingly dangerous situation. So he once more open grimoire and looked at part with utility spells and rituals, after which he saw two possible candidates. The first was simple -gargoyles skin- as the name says it makes caster skin turn to stone to look like a statue, yes it could be used as hiding or when caster would get out of sight but not so good for running or moving. The second was perfect for maneuvering and getting out of tricky situations -Liquid shadow-.
Casters' form would change to shadows with properties of liquid and gas. But the best feature was the possibility of moving even on building upwards and hiding in shadows. Bael starting to read steps that he needs to take for the spell to work, after the first trie he felt very unfamiliar. Bael needed to merge with his shadow and disconnect from the ground. His senses become confused when he no longer had eyes but still could see, so much so that spell canceled and Bael transformed back to his original form.
Bael was able to succeed after few tries but the feeling was still very foreign. After which when he looked at his shadow he was startled, for some reason he got the feeling that it changed somehow. When he started to pay attention to his body he made few discoveries. His markets which he had on his body become nearly invisible, which was a good thing now if someone would see him without a shirt they would not freak out. On the other hand, his skin became paler, and when he scratched on his hand he saw that his veins become darker some to be even black. Luckily they weren't showing themselves when if he didn't pay attention to them or try to hide them. But his shadow was darker than before. He could see a vague silhouette of himself even when he stood in the shade of a tree.
In hurry, Bael looked through the grimoire and found on the last page information about corruption those spells would bring to the user. After a quick read thought he found few things about so-called corruption.
In short greater corruption, greater power of those spells would be.
The longer version, on the other hand, is that teaching those spells and their first use of them would strengthen the connection to one's hell, and make them look more and more like a resident of that hell or plane depending on where that energy comes from. 'Well, it looks like there are few of different planes or sources of power, not sure yet.' Bael got spooked at the beginning, but then was able to calm down. After which he put down the grimoire with which he needs to be careful from now on.
Bael chose to return to an abandoned school. Now he would be able to pass the police without them noticing. That scent was still bugging him because the first one has brought him to the grimoire then where will this one lead, hopefully to something fortunate.
After Bael returned he hid behind a tree and counted four policemen and three forensics. One at entrance two at back and last was walking near windows on the left side of the building. Though which he could see forensics working. 'What could happen here? Maybe later I should watch the news or maybe some article of what happened here.' After which Bael transforms into shadow and slithered to hide in the shadow of a policeman close to one of the windows, after which he snuck still in form of shadow inside to left upper corner. Bael saw three forensics taking samples from the ground whereby looks at it a lot of blood was spilled not so long ago. When he saw the scene Bael became shocked. It was the first murder scene he saw in his life. He saw them on television yes but never in real life, even that drawing was drawn on the ground where a body was laying.
"What's that?" one of the forensics yelled as he pointed at Bael. Bael became surprised, especially when another policeman showed up from deeper into the building and used a flashlight to light up a corner where Bael was. Forensics Johnson saw some movement in the upper corner of the room when he was a double-checking scene. A great mass of darkness floated in the corner of the room defying the laws of nature and that feeling which Johnson felt when he looked into its darkness a feeling of fear and he remembered a sentence from school. When you stare into the abyss the abyss stares back.
After Bael saw a policeman with a flashlight looked at him in horror he realized that he forgot to merge with a shadow of the room to stay hidden. After that, he cursed at himself and screamed at them in their minds 'LOOK DOWN!' After which all of them clench their heads in their arms, while one even fainted. Now when no one was looking Bael moved to the other side of the room and merge with shadows there so he could still watch how this situation will play out.
The policeman whose name was Stanly was first to get back to his senses and looked around him "Hey, everyone come here!" Stanly yelled still slightly disoriented and with strong pain in the head. In few moments after his yell, two people run to a room which was the police who were standing closest to the entrance after which others shortly after them. 'Seven? There were seven policemen, not fore. What should I do now?' Bael thought while slightly panicking.
When others entered the room and saw fainted forensic they called for an ambulance and run to help others who were still on the ground. Bael felt that this was about enough and decide to leave. The only problem there was so many of them now and someone could spot him when he would be leaving. So Bael concentrated on other forensics because they should have less willpower. ' SUFFER ME NOW' as Bael said in his mind and one of forensics clenched his fists and fell from knee position. After which everyone looked at him which gave Bael time to leave through oper side of the door, then he simply left the building while laying low straight to the forest.
Bael left the forest with few stops here and there to look back after which he went home as it was afternoon. He snuck to his room through a window which he left open on accident. When he was finally inside Bael sign in relief and thought back on all which transpired in that short amount of time. Powers he acquired, corruption which he needs to pay attention to, and a slight accident that transpired in an abandoned school. 'I need be more careful with shadow form, I have nearly gotten caught. Hopefully, they will be disregarded as hallucination or overwork by others. I didn't leave any evidence so it should be ok and who would believe they saw a shadow which moves on its own. Well, they personally may be a problem, but there is a chance I will never even see them again so that's that.' After a short callming, Bael felt at peace once more and chose to rest for a little bit. It was a tiring day even if it didn't end yet.
