Last time, we were talking about how trees could solve global warming.
Removing Carbons in the air and moving that carbon into organic material. If there were enough trees, it could change the way sunlight is retained on Planet Earth.
That would require that the trees do not get burned or eaten.
So, we could shoot the tree trunks into space. Tree trunks are dense organic carbon fibers. That might sequester enough of the carbon that the trees removed from the air.
The biggest challenge: DO NOT USE ANY COMBUSTION DEVICE, AT ANY TIME, IN MOVING THE TREES INTO SPACE. It would be too easy to ease any gain in sequestering the carbon; if we created emissions in any part of the process.
The core operation must not have usual rocket combustion.
Electro-magnetic mass drivers would be a possible technology to consider. The tree trunks would be relatively immune to high G acceleration.
Mass drivers are enormous and rely on good geology. The tree trunks would have to moved the mass drivers.
All those things would need to happen with solar power.
Earth could have its own 'orbiting tree house'. A place to park orbiting cars.
In the next chapter, I explain why this is really just a 'trashy' idea.
