Chapter 3 - Two thrones, one kingdom

The throne room was huge. Light was coming from all sides and in the middle of the roof, there was a giant glass window. It was filled with vibrant colors and formed a picture of sorts. Victor was looking directly at the picture, yet he could not think of what it should show. He recognised some beings that were shown. He has seen their statues in the hall, his father and the snake. Yet again, he could not remember seeing the other two.

"So, why did you come here?" asked one lady. She was wearing a long dress in a shade of the night sky. She spoke in a strong voice, yet Victor could hear the kindness behind her words.

"Are you here to just waste our time?" said the other one. Her voice was louder and held more power then the other one. There was some kindness behind the voice, but very deep.

Victor took a deep breath and than looked directly at the two ladies before him.

"I heard that there was some criminal roaming the streets of this kingdom."

"And? Did you come here just to tell us that you found her?"

"Not exactly. Yes, I did meet her."

The room became dead silent.

The lady in golden robe clenched her fist. "Why didn't you bring her here than?"

"I am not your citizen my lady. I had no idea who she was, or what her crime was."

"Don't lie to us." said the other lady. "In my presence, all lies sound like garbage. She told you her crime."

Victor was suprised a little. Did she know how to enter his mind? No, that couldn't be it.

"Solara, if he intends to lie to us, than this is nothing but a waste of time." she added.

"Wait." shouted Victor. "My apologies, but i viewed that as irelevant to my point."

"Very well then." said Solara. "If Luna however senses another lie out of your mouth, you will leave this room, understood?"

Acting so mighty. Victor didn't like this kind of people. "Very well."

"If I may, what is the crime that you put her on trial for?"

"She holds a power so dangerous, that she can't control it. If not for her sake, than for the sake of everyone I was forced to take action." said Solara.

"Executing an innocent child who doesn't even comprehend what did she do wrong. Does that sound like justice to you?" told Victor. Louder this time.

"You have no idea what you are talking about. There was no other way!"

"There is one. If she is able to control her powers, than there is no reason for her to die."

Solara looked even angrier now. It is as if she heard those words before.

"There was a teacher assigned to her. But instead, he ran away when things went south."

"Who was he?"

"That doesn't concern you. This debate is over." and Solara stood up.

Luna was beginning to leave to but than Victor shouted something. "Let's make a deal than."

The room went silent.

"A deal? What kind of deal?" asked Luna.

"Don't listen to him Luna, he is a lunatic." said Solara, begging her to leave.

"Those words you just said. Justice, innocence, another way. I know them." spoke Luna softly. "But no matter how hard I tried, she can't be saved."

"I will prove that she can. Give me one week. In one week, I will save her, and redeem her."

Solara turned around and with a fiery expresion she said. "A deal requiers you to also give something in return for this time. What can you give that we don't posses?"

Victor then smiled and put his hand on his chest. "Myself. In exchange for the time I'll have, I will become a servant."

Solara and Luna stood there shocked.

Solara bit her lip and shouted. "You killed two of the most powerful guards in my army, what makes you think that I will trust you!"

Victor looked up. There was something different about him. There was no longer any smile on his face. He looked dead serious. A resolve shining in his eyes like diamonds.

"The son of Velaeran never backs his word. If I become a servant, I will uphold my oath to my dying breath."

Luna seemed a little suprised when she heard that name. So did Solara. Velaeran, one of the statues in the hall. Victor knew that if there is a statue of his father there, they must have heard of him.

Luna came closer to Victor. "Your words speak volume. That much is certain. I have seen how capable you are, when I saw you at the gate. Your skills would truly benefit us."

She then looked him dead in the eye. Victor gazed at Luna. She was not only beautiful but also elegant. There was something about her, that made him feel, like he belonged to her.

"After one week, I will become a servant of a royal then. Shall we agree on this deal?"

Victor than put his hand forward. Expecting Luna to shake it. And so she did. "A deal it is."

Solara seemed interested. "You are a strange man. Tell us your name before you leave."

Victor smiled. "Victor, Victor Velaestraz."

After that, Victor walked out of the castle and when he met a new set of guards at the gate he smiled. "Sorry for making you take the shift." he said to the new guards who looked at him confused.

"Do you think he will do it?" asked Solara.

"Do what?"

"Save her? Do you think that it is possible?" she said, there was a tone of uncertainaty.

Luna then held Solara's hand. "I believe in him. He is something, that we have yet to see in full power. Sister."

Solara then hugged her sister with a smile on her face.

It was black. Pitch black. Only the red of eyes could be seen in the room.

"My lord. We have traced down her power. We now know where she is." said something in the dark.

A figure in black clother look at something that it held in its hand. It was a sphere. Magical sphere that showed a figure of a girl. That girl was Snow.

"How unstable is her consciousness right now."

"The unstability is growing rapidly. Sire."

"Very well." the figure stood up. "I am coming my dear. Wait for me." Then the figure was engulfed in something that could only be described as darkness. Utter and pure darkness.

Snow woke up from a dream. She saw a man, calling to her. She than said a name, she could not remember the face to which that name belonged. "Vlad..." she said, gasping for air.
