Chapter 4 - Awakening

Vogio Nahiros was a slave trader. He was born and raised in Lys. Like him, his father was also a slave trader. When he was young, he wanted to become the biggest trade slaver in the Essos so after growing up he became a slave trader like his father. He was a cautious but ambitious man. He was selling bed slaves from Lys to the rest of the Free Cities.

Today, he was travelling to Myr with his newly bought slaves. His daughter was accompanying him, her name was Feresha, after her deceased mother. Her mother died while giving birth to her. He loved his daughter dearly and pampered her as much as he can. He did know that his daughter was a bit arrogant but nevertheless, he loved her.

There was still a day to go before they arrive to the city. They were passing the seaside road when his daughter saw something.

"Father, there is someone on the shore!" shouted Feresha from the front of the convoy.

"Hario, go and check," said Vogio listlessly. He met situations like this a lot. Pirates were haunting Narrow Sea and were killing a lot of people while raiding ships. Many corpses were washing up onshore.

The man named Hario went to shore and checked the body. The body was a young boy but the surprising thing was his face. Hario did not see something like that ever. Even in Lys, there wasn't a face like this.

His face shone in the watery sunlight. His features were the beauty of silence and holiness but here they marked him out as a stranger. His precisely shaped mouth was small, firm and full-lipped. His brown hair was loose on the sand. Seawater was washing his hair.

Hario wanted to touch his face but was afraid of ruining his sacredness. He checked whether he was dead or not by putting his hand over the boy's mouth. He was still alive and breathing.

Hario immediately shouted to Vogio, "He is still alive."

Vogio looked at Hario and said, "Bring him here."

Hario carried the body to the carriage and put him in front of Vogio.

Vogio looked at the boy and murmured, "Such a perfect face… Hmm, it would fetch a good price at market."

Vogio looked at Hario and said, "Carry him to the carriage and don't forget to tie his hands."

While Vogio was talking to Hario, Feresha looked at the boy's face and shocked. She did not see such a beauty even in Lys. Such a man should not be sold as a slave but should be hers… Only hers...

Twenty minutes ago…

Gerold opened his eyes and puke out all the water in his lungs. He gasped for air. He looked around and saw he was on a shore. He remembered Martha, the last thing he remembered was going out to bring the car to the front door.

Suddenly, foreign memories invaded Gerold. He was a small boy in a house, drinking soap from a small tube. Then, he was getting beaten by a man bigger than him. Afterwards, he saw a woman getting raped by a burly man. His face was being carved like a sculpture by another man. He bled and thrown out to sea.

Then he remembered his death, he was struck by a lightning bolt. He remembered talking with a voice and the mission he was given. There was still foreign memories in his head. After he was blackened out, the voice had sent information to him to help him in his mission. He was given information about the world he was sent. He was given powers which he did not even dream about.

He looked at his hands, they were small like he was a young boy. He touched his mouth, the wound he remembered to have was gone. He touched his head but the bump which should have been there because of the beating he suffered, was not there.

He knew this world from his older one. It was in the books and in a tv-series. He did not watch or read either of them. Luckily, the voice gave him the necessary information about the known future, past and present. Past and present were okay but the future was a variable factor. He still did not know whether to use future for his use or not. Besides this, he was also given information about the languages of Essos, Westeros and Sothoryos.

He looked around, there was a paved road nearby. At his right was a small convoy coming to his way. He still did not know where was he so he thought about asking help from them but he still did not know them so there wasn't any precondition of them doing any good thing to him. He decided to play as an unconscious innocent little boy found in the shore. He lied to the sands and waited.

They stopped on the road and one of them came and checked him whether he was alive or not. He carried him to the convoy. One of the men murmured that he wanted to sell him as a slave. He gave an order to the man named Hario to carry him to a carriage and tie his hands.

'So, I am in Essos. Slavery is forbidden in Westeros and most of the people in convoy are silver-haired. I should be in Western Essos. Slavery is forbidden in Braavos and Pentos. Although Pentos practice slavery in secret, they shouldn't have convoys of slaves passing in their roads. The weather is a bit hot so I should be somewhere in the South. Seawater was a bit cold so I'm not in Volantis. I should be near to Three Daughters.'

They put him in a carriage. After a while, doors opened and someone sneaked in. Gerold decided to open his eyes.

He slowly opened his eyes and saw a silver-haired beauty. Her purple eyes were creating a contrast with his pale skin and silver hair. They were the epitome of beauty. However, she was looking at him like watching an animal in a zoo. She stretched her hand and touched his face.

While she was touching, Gerold was experiencing a new life. Feresha's life was flowing like a river in front of his eyes. He saw her growing up and accompanying his father while he travelled. He saw her biggest sins and desires. This was one of the powers the voice gave him. Experiencing a sentient being's past, innermost desires and sins.

Feresha was craving for love. Her father did love him but because of his business, he was not caring about her too much. All he saw was his business. He was even planning to marry her to one of the merchants for a potential business deal. Feresha also craved for beauty besides love. She loved seeing beautiful things.

At the moment, her desires and sins were slowly becoming a tool for Gerold.

Gerold exerted a bit of strength and freed his hands from the rope by pulling them apart. He caught Feresha's hand and asked, "Who are you?"

He already knows who was she but this was a role he had to play. Feresha tried to free her hand from his grasp but it was to no avail. She was dumbfounded.

Such a slender body was able to free from tight ropes. Feresha looked at his arms, they were weak like a baby's arms. She wanted to scream for help but when she looked at his golden eyes, she was hypnotized by their lustre.

"I'm Feresha," said Feresha while still looking his eyes.

"Do you know where we are, Feresha?" asked Gerold.

"We're going Myr, there is still a day to go," Feresha answered but the words were coming out naturally.

"Will you help to leave this convoy, Feresha?" asked Gerold while looking at her eyes and holding her hand.

"Ohh… but my father will be angry if I do that…" Feresha was embarrassed about her hand being held but the question he asked made her scared. His father was too serious about his job and didn't like someone messing around.

"Your father does not need to know Feresha, this can be our little secret," said Gerald calmly.

"But how are we going to do that?" Feresha was holding her chest with her free hand. Her heart was thumping soundly. The boy was maddening her.

"You can help me while everyone is asleep, right? You can prepare one of the horses." Gerold looked at her eyes and answered.

"Oh… Okay then I will do as you said," said Feresha.

Gerold let go her hand watched her go away.

When Gerold let go of her hand, Feresha realized that she wanted to be touched by him but they were still travelling and if someone noticed she was missing it may bring trouble to the boy so she resisted her desires and went out of the carriage.
