Chapter 6 - Another Life

For Gerold, coming to Lys was for a purpose. He was planning to build the foundation of his religion here. Lys a religious hub. Here, there were many temples and shrines of various gods; Pantera the cat goddess, Yndros of the Twilight, Bakkalon the Pale Child, Saagael Giver of Pain, R'hllor or Temple of Trade.

However, he needed money for that and finding the money was going to be his first step. His first move was going to be visiting Raenar Eragor. He was one of the magisters who was on the Conclave.

Lys was ruled by these merchants, they were the richest men of Lys. They had trade posts from White Harbor to Asshai. All of them were powerful men but Gerold choosen Raenar Eragor for his secret. He was going to use it to its full capacity.

At the moment, Gerold was going towards the orphanage. He wanted to seek shelter there for a day. While passing one of the streets, he saw four boys surrounding another one. All of them were dressed in style. They were approximately fifteen years old. Gerold stopped in his tracks and watched them. They were obviously rich, Gerold thought about helping the boy but he gave up after thinking about the potential trouble. By saving the boy he would be gaining his favour but the other four would be a trouble for him.

"What's happened Aemar? Did you really think your sister could protect you?" One of the boys kicked the boy named Aemar from his abdomen. Although he was talking sarcastically, there was hesitation in his voice.

One of the other boys looked at Aemar while stepping on his head and talked. "You are a shame to your house Aemar. House Eragor should have cast you aside when you were born. Do you know what's going to happen to you when I marry your sister? Ohh, she will beg me to spare you and of course, I will be generous enough to spare you. I will make you serve in Perfumed Garden as a bed-slave to men. Hahaha!"

While all of this happening, Aemar was staring at them and smiling.

"I'm a bit lucky, I guess…" murmured Gerold to himself. He was planning to visit House Eragor tomorrow but he found someone from their house here. It was really his lucky day. Gerold, immediately, made his way towards boys and shouted, "Hey, stop at once!"

All of them turned around to look who shouted but all they saw was a little boy at the age of eleven. They were dumbfounded to see such a little boy giving an order to them. They were all heirs to powerful merchant families.

One of the boys looked at him disgustedly and said, "Don't look for trouble boy, get lost!"

Gerold saw the boy walking towards him and said, "Ahhh, why am I wasting my breath!"

The boy tried to punch him in his face but Gerold dodged and kicked him between his legs.

"Jaenar!" shouted other boys with angry faces and all of them charged to him.

Meanwhile, Jaenar was falling to the ground while holding his gooch. He tried to scream but Gerold kicked him from his face.

One of the boys tried to hold his arm but Gerold got through between his legs and kicked him behind his knee. The boy knelt on the ground and Gerold quickly punched him from his nape.

There were still two more boys and after seeing him take down their friends, they got scared but still tried to fight. Unfortunately for them, Gerold dealt with them swiftly. All of them escaped with their tails between their legs.

Gerold went to Aemar's side and looked at his state. His head was bleeding and blood was seeping from his mouth. Apparently, he was beaten badly. The weird thing, he was still smiling and this was a bit creepy.

"Looks like the boy has a mental disorder." Gerold couldn't help but pity him. His old self from this world was also cripple and he knew how hard it can be sometimes. He looked at Aemar, he wanted to see his past. He wanted to learn what he had to put up with.

Aemar saw his gaze and smiled. He clung to his leg and tried to get up but failed.

Gerold held his hand and started to experience another life.

"Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!" A woman was screaming on a bed. There were midwives around her.

"Mi'lady, one more push, one more!" One of the midwives put her hands between the woman's legs and pulled something out. It was a baby, a beautiful boy. He was crying at the top of his lungs.

"It's a boy. Go fetch the Mi'lord, tell him it's a boy." The midwife was smiling while talking.

A man hurriedly came in. When he saw the baby, he smiled and took him to his arms. Everyone who saw this scene smiled sweetly.

"Daesa, look at our child. He is beautiful, isn't he?" The man turned his head and looked at the woman lying on the bed.

However, the woman didn't give any reaction. She was lying there with eyes open looking at the ceiling.

"Daesaaa!!!" The man immediately gave the baby to one of the midwives and went beside the bed. He shook his wife's arms but there was no reaction. One of the midwives immediately went out to call a healer.

Several minutes later, a woman healer came. She quickly went to bed and checked the woman's pulse. But it was too late, the woman was already dead.

Four years later…

A beautiful boy was running in the halls of a grand manor, a little girl was chasing him right behind but the boy was too fast.

"Aemar, stop right now or else you won't get any lemon cake!" shouted the girl.

Aemar stopped and looked his behind with a scared face, "Sorry, Elaesa."

Elaesa caught him and took him to her arms. She smiled and said, "I lied, you can have all the lemon cakes you want."

She carried her to their father's room but just as he was going to open the door she stopped because she heard some voices coming from inside. She put her ear to the door and listened.

"Mi'lord, I am sorry but there is nothing I can do. The boy has a mental illness, that's why he can't talk properly. I even talked with my friends from Citadel but there is nothing we can do…" said a hoarse voice.

"Can't you find someone from the East, I heard they can do blood magic to heal people." asked her father with an exhausted voice.

"Yes, they can heal but as you said it requires blood from someone they are related and blood magic affects the health of other members of their house." said the man.

Elaesa looked at her brother. She was still smiling without any worry about the world. She hugged him and started to cry silently…

Back to the present…

Gerold looked at the boy and got him up. He patted his clothes and eyed him from head to toe. There was a bootprint on his face. His hair was silver like the rest of the Lyseni. He could be considered handsome and definitely cute.

Gerold wanted to heal Aemar. It was also would benefit his goals because his father was Raenar Eragor. Aemar could introduce him to his father and as his healer and saviour, he could gain the upper hand in the potential negotiations.

Gerold looked around cautiously, he didn't want anybody to see his powers, yet. He turned around and looked at Aemar. His facial features were beautiful. It was somewhat different from the typical Lyseni lineage. It was obvious where his features came from.

Gerold imagined a healthy boy talking and playing with his friends when he touched Aemar's face. A blinding light came out of the boy's cheek. Gerold himself was surprised because of the light. He did not know that bigger the problem means bigger the light. Luckily, the street he passed was a desolated one or else everyone would have come here by now.

Gerold looked at Aemar. His eyes were opened wide and were looking around with wonder. Finally, he noticed that he was in the arms of another man. İmmediately, he distanced himself and asked, "Who are you?"

Gerold gave a warm smile and answered, "Your saviour."
