Chapter 12 - Sack of King's Landing (2/2)

283 AC, King's Landing…

Tywin Lannister was a cruel and calculative man. If he did something then it should have been perfect but this time, things didn't go as he planned. At first, everything was okay. They were going to get into the city and kill the royal family to prove his loyalty but his plans had changed when he was denied entry to the city. He thought everything would have worked with Pycelle's whispering to the king's ears. However, the unexpected return of Qarlton Chelsted ruined his plans.

After the failures of his plans, Tywin decided to take matters into his own hands. He requested entry to the city with his twenty men and Lord Chelsted accepted his entry. His plan was to take control of the gatehouse and open the gates from inside so his army can get access to the city. He made this plan because there were very few men on the outer walls of the city. If all the garrison had been on the walls then his plan would not have worked but with this little numbers, it would have been idiocy to not take the opportunity.

However, Tywin thought that he was on his bad day because after taking control of gatehouse, he heard deafening sounds and looked out. He saw a strange scene, there were corpses on the outside. He remembered the weird machines on the wall. He looked out of gatehouse's window and saw the machines. He heard the deafening sounds again and saw big arrows flying out of the machines. Immediately, he turned his head and looked at his army. His soldiers were falling down one by one.

"At least a thousand men died…" Tywin thought.

"Lead the army and sack this city, these rats should face their retribution," said Tywin without turning his head.

Tywin had lost nearly half of his army because of these machines. And now, he was inspecting one of them. He thought about taking these machines before Robert and others come but he abandoned that idea. There were too many people who saw these machines and if he takes them it could create a rift between him and the winner side.

The city was under his control and his remaining forces were attacking the Red Keep. It was time to do that thing which shall be remembered for years. It was not something he wanted to do but he had to do it. Luckily, he doesn't need to do the act himself, he can leave someone holding the baby.

Tywin turned towards the giant man beside him and said, "Clegane, take some men with you and get into the castle. I want you to find the princess and his spawns. Secure them at all cost."

The man named Gregor Cleagane looked at his Lord and nodded. He quickly went towards his own men.

Meanwhile, in Red Keep…

Gerold was in the Maegor's Holdfast and was walking towards the royal nursery. There was a man behind him, holding two babies. One of them was a girl at the age of three. She was a beautiful child with black eyes and black hair. The other one was also a beautiful child but he was a boy. He was nearly one year old with silver hair and purple eyes. However, there was something wrong with these two children. They were not moving or reaction to the new environment. If one looked closely they would have realized that they were both dead...

Soon, Gerold reached to the nursery. There was no one guarding the door and three people cuddled together were sitting on a bed.

Surprisingly, two of them had the same appearance as the two children behind Gerold. And the third one was a great beauty, he has dark eyes, dark hair in ringlets and olive skin.

When the people inside the room saw Gerold, they were surprised. However, immediately, the young woman shouted, "Who are you? Don't you know this is the royal nursery!?"

"Princess Elia, I guess it is wrong to speak with your children's would-be saviour like this, right?" Gerold smiled.

The woman Gerold called Princess Elia looked at the man in front of her with suspicion and answered, "This castle is impregnable, you don't need to worry about my children."

Gerold clicked his tongue and said, "Red Keep is already fallen and Lannister men are coming here, right now. Do you really want your children to fall in the hands of lions and subjected to cruel treatments?"

Elia looked at the man with a ghastly face, "How will you help?"

Gerold beckoned with his hand and a man came out behind him with two dead bodies in his arms.

"We will change your children with these two bodies. Your children will be taken away and raised in a proper way," said Gerold.

Elia looked at the dead bodies and shocked. Like they were cast in the same mould, they were a replica of her children. Elia thought something and asked, "What about me?"

"Ahh, that's impossible. You know, there is a need to sacrifice or else people won't believe that they are your children. Besides, these two bodies died yesterday and any maester who examine their situation would realize that they died earlier than their supposed death. I'm sure you would do anything to save your children, right?" Gerold looked at her with pity.

"Of course, I would do anything for my babies! Just say what I need to do!?" shouted Elia.

Gerold looked at him and said slowly, "You will take these two bodies and wait on the window. When you see someone from Lannisters come in, you will throw yourself with the bodies out of the window. You will probably fall to water or rocks. Reaching your bodies would be hard or even impossible. In this way, no one will recognize that they were not your children."

"Do… do I have to jump?" Elia looked at him with horror.

"Hmm, come to Elia, hold my hand." Gerold went forward and stretched his hand.

Elia held his hand and his eyes began to turn white. Gerold's hand were flashing with light. Several seconds later, Elia's eyes turned normal and the light on Gerold's hand died out.

"Now, will you jump Elia?" asked Gerold while smiling.

Elia's eyes were shining with a resolution, "Yes, I will…"

**************

Gregor Clegane was marching towards the royal nursery. Alongside him, there was a man. He has a pale piggy face with small pig-like eyes and this man was named as Amory Lorch.

Soon, they reached the royal nursery and saw the princess on the window. He was holding two children on her arms. They were the young prince and princess.

Gregor, immediately, tried to reach Princess Elia but it was too late. Elia jumped out of the window with the children in her arms.

Gregor was furious. When his lord gave this job to him, he was delighted. He heard rumours about the princess and her tight cave. He wanted to taste it but when he came to the nursery, he saw the princess jumping out of the window with her children. He wanted to smash something and break legs. He looked around to break something but there was only a bed. He turned around and saw Amory standing there and looking to the window. There was a shocked expression on his face.

Amory turned his head when he sensed someone looking at him. He saw Gregor Clegane was looking at him with a face full of fury.

Amory started to tremble and said, "No, no, no… Look, there is a bed. Go to it, not me… not me!!"
