Chapter 13 - Chapter 12

My eyes snapped open, and I was plastered in sweat.

"Don't you want to warn your friends?"

"Yeah! Didn't you hear the lady, get out of here, fast!"

"Since when do you care, I thought you wanted me dead," I said aloud.

Ayro gave me a weird look. "Who are you talking to?" He asked.

"Nobody! I'm not talking to anyone!" I said quickly.

Ayro got up. He rolled up his sleeping bag, and his eyes widened as he noticed a piece of paper tucked in the corner. He picked it up, and after a few seconds, he put it back down.

"We need to get out of here, fast." He looked worried, or, more worried than usual.

I tilted my head. The memory of my dream was already fading away.

"Why?"

As a response, Ayro shoved the paper into my hands.

'Hello again, friends. I've found you again! Aren't my tracking skills impressive? If you stay exactly where you are, you'll have answers to all of your questions. I have one more teeny tiny favor to ask! Remind Alex that he shouldn't have spoken to your group at all. Promise him there will be consequences.

With all the "love" In the world,

THE DEALER.'

I read the note several times, making sure to read everything. Why was Alex not supposed to talk to us? How did "The Dealer" find us? What kind of name is The Dealer? Questions upon questions upon questions were running through my mind. I took the note, and sprinted out of the tent. I went to Alex's tent first, zipping the door open. I want expecting to see my brother spooning James.

"Alex!" I shouted. I knew he was asleep, and I needed to wake him up. This was the best way. His eyes snapped open. He took exactly three seconds to realise what he was doing, and retracted his arms.

"Umm... Hi..." He said weakly, then cleared his throat. "How, uh, long have you been standing there?"

"A few seconds. Sorry to wake you up, but we have to get up and leave, now," I said sternly. I also handed him the note.

He gazed at it, and his eyes went wide.

"Where did you find this?" The panic was evident in his voice.

I simply pointed to my tent.

He shook his head, and kept muttering the words "No, this can't be happening," over and over again.

"What's wrong?"

He looked at me, his eyes watering.

"This guy broke into the orphanage, and treated to- he threatened to-" He couldn't continue his sentence. He looked devastated.

James woke up only a second later.

He looked at Alex, then looked at me. "What. Did. You. Do."

"I didn't do anything! I just handed him that note!"

Alex took a deep breath. He looked into my eyes

"He threatened to kill a kid named back at my orphanage. He's like... Like a brother to me." Alex took in a few deep, shakey breaths, then continued. "I-I hope he's alright."

James

Last night was strange. I had woken up late last night, due to Alex's shifting and muttering. He always seemed to have nightmares when he slept. I noticed this small detail when we shared a cell. He shifted a bit closer to me on his sleeping bag. He leaned on his side, and placed his head on my shoulder. He shifted his legs around, then put an arm over me, pulling me closer.

I fell asleep again, and the muttering and shifting stopped. Then, I woke up to Crystal squatting in front of Alex. After the whole "what did you do" fiasco, I felt bad for Alex. He left someone behind when he went to prison, and now that kid was probably dead. Crystal walked out of our tent a minute ago, saying that she would tell Ayro about this little detail. I looked at Alex, and when I met his eyes, I could see the tears forming, so I decided to listen the mood with a little bit of flirting. Very light flirting... AS IF!

"So, you want to explain why you were cuddling with me last night?" I asked, a smug grin on my face. His facial expressions went from sad, to confused to nervous. His face was turning redder by te second.

"I did that while asleep," He insisted.

"Yeah, sure. You know who beloved you? Nobody.'

"Someone could have,"

"First, you just ADMITTED it was a lie, but you're avoiding the question."

I put an arm around his shoulder.

"Why do you do this to me?" He whined.

I gave him an innocent looking smile. I learned in close to him, whispering into his ear.

"Because I can."

He was blushing so hard that his face was like a heater. I walked out of the room, making sure to tell him that he was a gay disaster.
