My twin sister Evva was fighting for her life. She was always on the brink of tears thinking or rather knowing that it would be her last year. She didn't want her twin to see her like this but it inevitable. Evva was going to die. The bad thing was that she wasn't worried about herself dying but rather her twin sister Biv living without her. She didn't want to leave this place or her sister.
Biv was always the one to follow Evva. So Evva would always worry but it's different now. When Evva is leaving to a place she doesn't want her twin to go to yet. Evva heard a knock at the door and turned to see her twin sister Biv smiling. Of course, it was fake, only Evva could tell which made her even more worried.
Biv never liked the idea of hospitals but she wanted to spend as much time with her twin before she lost her. Evva watched as her sister took the seat right next to her like she always has. Unlike their family, Biv was the one that was always by her side. It was hard on both of them but there was nothing they could do.
While Evva was slowly dying their parents would drown themselves in work. Evva hadn't even seen their younger brother, Calvin and younger sister, Atlantis since her and Biv's sixteenth birthday nine months ago. Biv placed her hand into her twin's.
Evva smiled but just like Evva, Biv can tell when Evva had a fake smile. Biv wished with all her might she could take any pain her twin had but she knew she couldn't. She could hardly think of ever losing her sister but she knew it was inevitable. Those words are what hurt both of them together.
Inevitable. an unavoidable situation. That's certain to happen. That's unavoidable. They will have to be separated. Biv will lose a twin and Evva will never be able to protect her little sister.
"Biv," Evva said with the most serious voice she could ever make come out. Biv looked at Evva. She held her sister's hand so tight just so that she wouldn't lose her because it felt like she was saying goodbye. "I love you, you know that right?"
"Of course I know that," Biv said barley smiling because she felt so worried about her sister. Evva looked at her, blinking away whatever tears she had in her tears because she hated it when her sister saw her cry but Biv could tell she was about to cry. Biv bit her lip.
"Promise me something," Evva said Biv nodded to her. "If anything was to happen to me. You'll keep living. Keep fighting for happiness. Fight for want you want. fight for your life" Biv nodded her head holding up her pinkie.
"But you'll fight too, right?" Biv said worried her sister might give up.
"Biv"
"No promise you'll keep fighting. If you fight for however long you got, I'll fight forever long I got even if we get separated"
"I will keep fighting until I can't no more," Evva said shaking her sister's pinkie.
Evva scooted a bit in her bed making there be room for her sister.
"Sleep with me?" Evva said to her sister. Biv looked at her teary-eyed twin. She smiled and nodded. Biv climbed in the bed with her sister. Biv leaned her head toward Evva, and Evva laid her head onto Biv's.
"I love you" Biv whispered to Evva
"I love you too," Evva said slowly closing her eyes. Feeling her eyelid get heavier and heavier.
