Chapter 4 - Chapter Three

Biv drove numbly. She didn't want to cry anymore but she had to tell her family. She sat in the driveway after arriving. She looked at the familiar house, she would always return to. She didn't want to speak to them, but she didn't have a choice. The box that Evva had sat in the passenger seat. She signed remembering what the note said.

She cut off the engine and slowly got out of the car and slammed the door. She didn't care at the moment she was supposed to be at school, that she could be in trouble for skipping school. All she cared about at the moment was telling her parents, just so she could go into her room and breakdown.

Biv opened the door and walked through to the kitchen where her mom would normally be at this time. Yes, she knew this and her mom should be at the hospital but she couldn't. Her mom, Jessie, looked up in surprise to see Biv.

"Biv, What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in school?" Her mom asked. Jessie knew she was lenient about her daughter Biv but she didn't think she would skip school and just show up right in front of her. Jessie gave her daughter a confused look. Tears ran down Biv's eyes and Jessie knew something was wrong. Biv rarely cried nowadays since Evva was placed in the hospital with cancer. "Mom" Biv said is a whisper. her voice broke. "Evva-"

"What happened?" Jessie said but she could just tell something happened if Biv came all the way here.

"She couldn't fight anymore. Evva let go. She died" Biv said as the last part she said came out as a whisper. Her hands were shaking. Tears fell her face non-stop and she couldn't help but want to cry. Jessie couldn't believe what she heard. She felt so much regret, pain, and sorrow for her eldest child. She put down the placed the plate down on the counter.

"I'll go let your dad know as soon as he gets back from work," Jessie said to her daughter.

Biv left the room to run into her and what was once also Evva's room. She slammed the door not caring if she knocked a single picture off the wall. She slammed herself onto her bed looking at her sister's bed she once used before she got cancer. Tears slip from her eyes. She couldn't think about much unless she wanted to cry all day.

Biv heard a commotion from downstairs. She looked at the clock by her bed to see that it was the time her siblings got out of school. She didn't want to see them or anyone but the one who knew how to help her. She wanted her sister. She heard sounds from downstairs and a familiar voice of her dad. She couldn't care right now. Biv buried her head into her pillow. Her cried turned into muffles. Soon, she couldn't cry anymore and she cried turned into muffles. She felt numb again. Like she did in the car.

Biv soon fell into a soundless sleep.
