Biv woke up next to her sister. It was about six-thirty. meaning she had to leave for school. She frowned. Evva could feel her sister moving but did not want her to know she was awake If she did she wouldn't leave for school.
Biv slowly got up from the hospital bed. She grabbed her backpack that sat beside the chair. Biv looked in her backpack checking for clothes that she normally packs when she comes to visit her sister. She headed straight to the bathroom.
Evva sat on the bed, opening her eyes after Biv went into the bathroom. She turned her head toward the door her sister went in. A tear rushed down her face. She felt so weak sitting here in the hospital bed. Evva put her hands together, holding her own. She was tired of fighting the never-ending battle but she knew she couldn't stop fighting or her sister wouldn't fight for hers.
Evva hears the door nob of the bathroom. She turned her head quickly wiping away the tears before her sister came out. Biv came out looking over at her sister. She frowned. She knew her sister was tired of fighting. She felt guilty for making her promise, but she didn't want to lose her sister. If she lost her, she would never be the same which she knew that. Biv walked over to her sister checking to see if her sister was still asleep. She lightly kissed her sister's cheep. Feeling the warm wet of her tears. She then knew she was awake. It was hard for her but she knew if she confronted her sister, they would just end up in an argument.
Biv picked up her backpack, putting it over her shoulder. "Bye," Biv said as she slowly left the room. Evva winched in pain. She pushed the call button when she knew her sister would be far from the room but little did she know, her sister wasn't that far. Biv turned around as she saw Nurses and doctors running to the room her sister sat in. She ran back to the room, but she couldn't see anything.
She heard her sister cry in pain but she couldn't do or see anything.
"Evva!" Biv cried out pushing some nurses back. Trying to get to a part in the room which she could fit into. Tears ran down Biv's face. She could slowly feel her sister dying. Evva cried in pain. She wanted her sister.
"Biv!" She cried but at the same time, she didn't want her there. She didn't want her to watch her die. From the corner of the room. Evva caught the eyes of her sister. Tears rolled down their faces. Biv was trying so hard, just to push through the nurses and doctors. Trying to get to her sister. To her best friend.
"Please let me through!" Biv cried out trying to get to her after meeting Evva's eyes. She knew Evva wanted her here, but she didn't want her to see her die. She knew she was losing her. Biv got to her sister, holding one of her hands. The side where the doctors and nurses weren't on. Tears ran down their faces.
"Biv, please," Evva said and Biv knew what she wanted. She didn't want to lose her sister but she also didn't want to see her in pain.
"Don't leave me Evva, Please"
"Biv, look in the chair. For the last four years, I've been in this hospital fighting. I knew I wasn't going to make it through my senior year of high school. I wrote those for you to hear me. I put the voice memos recorded on my phone for you to listen to me. You're not ever going to lose me. I won't ever truly leave you but I don't want you to follow me until you have to" Evva said through the pain as tears ran down her face. Biv wiped off the tears on her face like she would do every time she would see her twin cry.
Biv nodded her head through her teary eyes. Evva smiled sadly at Biv.
"I love you," Evva said
"I love you too," Biv said through her tears.
Biv nodded to the doctors. They knew what it meant. they fought so hard for this girl that's been here since she was in the sixth grade, but they knew it was getting harder and harder for her. They knew what it meant when the sister nodded to them. Everyone else that was crowded in the room slowly backed away. Biv stayed silent as the doctors check Evva's vital signs.
