It didn't take long to make myself look the part. Although I did a shabby job butchering my hair, and I had to tightly bind my chest with strips off my dress, I could pass for a young lad. With Richie's tunic and tights, my dark cape and cap I easily slipped into the last carriage without being noticed. The stench of rotten and fresh apples permeated the air as I bundled myself up under an empty burlap sack. Before the carriage rolled away, I looked back at the cave to make sure Richie was remaining hidden, and thanked the heavens that he was.
It wasn't long before I heard the sounds of the bustling city. The caravan stopped for a moment as guards were inspecting the load. Luckily I had bundled myself up tight, and we seemed to pass through with ease. When I was certain that the caravan had stopped and they began to unload, I snuck out of the back and joined the crowded street. My eyes doubled open in shock. All around were stalls of various items, men bartering and trading, and a line of bright blue sky shined overhead in between the tall towering stone houses.
I snuck down a darker alley to gain my bearings. I had to find water and medicine. Luckily, I had grabbed a few apples from the carriage for us to munch on when I got back. I looked up and down the street, when my eyes fell upon a well. Since I had brought the two empty flasks with me, I walked over to fill them. While filling them up, I looked around to where an apothecary might be when I heard a commotion.
"Why is there a woman on the street?"
