Like a hawk, Soobin watched Miyeon, and under his sharp gaze, she found it difficult to cut into the steak. For around ten minutes now, he stared at her, and there was nothing romantic about the way he kept on gazing at her— that would have creeped her out more.
Miyeon felt like a test subject which was analyzed by a scientist— with Soobin being the scientist— and feeling quite self conscious, she did not even dare to breathe loudly.
Both of them were in a restaurant, and silence surrounded the entire place. There were only few people dining around them, and even if Miyeon preferred a serene atmosphere, right now, she wanted there to be noisiness around her, so that she would stop feeling so aware of his stare.
"Is the steak not to your taste?" Soobin questioned.
"Huh?"
His voice took her by surprise. For the past ten minutes, he remained quiet, and she hadn't expected him to speak up so suddenly.
She then answered, "Yeah, the steak looks delicious. It's just that I don't have much of an appetite. Your one is untouched as well, Mr. Min."
"Should I have brought you to somewhere else?"
'It would be the same even if you brought me elsewhere. The problem is not with the food but you. Please get the signal! You can't be that oblivious!'
"No, it's fine," she spoke out, "Steak is great! I love those! Why did you suddenly call me out, Mr. Min?"
"I have been staring at you for a while, but you really don't appear to be familiar," he said, "I wonder if it was just a coincidence."
"Wow! You don't need to remind me how insignificant I was over and over again," she stated— feeling slightly hurt and offended at his words.
Min Soobin gave no response to that, and cutting a piece out of his steak, he placed it inside his mouth.
Miyeon let out a scoff, making sure that he had heard it loud and clear, and decided to concentrate on eating her food.
'Ah! So, you brought me here to insult me! Fine! Do that! It's not like I care about it! You don't remember about me? Cool! It doesn't bother me.
It's not like our memories together were that memorable. Even I am close to forgetting my memories with you. What happened when we first met? I can't remember about it.'
"Are you alright, Miss Oh?" Soobin asked.
Min Soobin's voice brought Miyeon out of her thoughts, and staring up at him, she raised one of her eyebrows. Seeing how he pointed at her plate, she stared down at it.
Miyeon's eyes widened when she noticed the state her steak was at. Multiple stab marks could be seen on the surface of the steak, and it seemed that she had done it subconsciously.
Her silly mistake caused the embarrassment to fill her, and as she was desperate to hit her head against the wall, she forced out a smile on her face.
"I apologise. It seemed that I have lost my senses by thinking about how easily you forget things despite being the best in class. I recall when someone once mentioned how you have a photographic memory. But that seemed to have been a lie."
