Medic: I believe this is well enough, just remember she has to keep her cut away from water for a week or so.
Ken: Thank you, Medic.
Medic: If she feels anything uncomfortable, tell me right away okay?
Ken: Yes, I'll keep that in mind. Once again, thank you.
(The Medic nods and leaves to treat the other patients in the shelter)
Ken: So, Emili, I would like some explanation here. (Gently places Kora onto a soft material with no expression)
Ken: I was so worried when I came back from the food assistance to find both of you gone. But I was more horrified to see your dear friend almost half dead when you girls came back. (Stares at Emili's face) ...From your expression I'm guessing her wounds are related to you?
Emili: (Guilt) Yes... It's all my fault. I- I wanted to go check Dan's safety, I couldn't help worrying. And then the Defus found us and-- (Looks down)
Ken: (Sighs) Emili, you know Dan doesn't like it when you put yourself in danger too. Dan has the ability to protect himself, he is a soldier. You are just a normal young girl, you can't protect yourself or... protect anyone else. (Takes a peek at Kora)
Emili: (Eyes watery) You're right, father. It's all my fault that Kora is now like this. I only cause trouble, I am a terrible daughter and a terrible friend, aren't I?
Ken: (Hugs Emili) It's a good thing you know what you did wrong, but you shouldn't push it too far. You are not a terrible daughter, you are the most precious thing to me. Although you do make mistakes that frustrates me... (Chuckles) I can't bring myself to hate you even a bit.
Ken: As for Kora... (Sighs) Well, I believe she is not a person who sees people in a negative way. But... if she does turn out to be unhappy for what you did, (Looks into Emili's eyes) make sure to apologize to her sincerely, okay? She will understand. Well, hopefully?
Emili: (Smiles reluctantly) Dad, you seriously are bad at comforting people.
Ken: (Coughs) Ahem! Young girl, you are still in punishment! Do not talk back to your father!
Emili: (Lets out a small laugh) Yes, sir!
(Ken smiles as he sees her daughter slowly returning to her usual self. Then, looking seriously at her face, he kneels down and touches her shoulders)
Ken: Listen, Emili. I don't want you to end up like your mother. Promise me you won't take any more risks.
Emili: (Smile fades, slowly nods)
Ken: What if she didn't come to save you? What if Prince Loki wasn't there? Things would have been different. You won't always be this lucky. I don't need to tell you more about how precious you are to me, to Dan. Please, think more about us before taking your actions. I can't risk losing people that are precious to me anymore.
Ken: (Eyes full of sorrow) You could have been killed, like your mother.
Emili: ...
Ken: Please, Emili. Don't do this again. (Stands up) This is the last time I will help you keep silent from Dan.. I hope there will be no next time, for I fear I won't be able to deal with the situation this calmly anymore.
Emili: Yes, father... thank you.
Ken: (Smiles) I guess our topic has grown a little too serious, how about you try some of the soup that I brought for you girls? It might be a little cool by now though.
Emili: Okay.
Ken: Don't eat all of them, remember to save some for your friend when she wakes up. She would be starving by then.
Emili: (Smiles weakly) Yea, come to think of it, she hasn't eaten much. I don't really have the appetite to eat, I guess I'll just eat a little and give her the rest.
Ken: No, eat as much as you can. I will go get her some new soup if there isn't enough. You haven't been eating much either.
(Emili doesn't answer. She takes a bowl of soup and silently eats her meal)
