(A day later, on the second floor of the Ken's Bakery, Kora slowly opens her eyes)
Kora: (Hoarse) ...Where am I? (Coughs) Oh yea... there was a battle. Emili... Is she alright? I can't remember anything after I fainted...
Kora: (Tries to get up) Ouch--! Ugh, right, I was almost killed by that soldier... (Touches her wounds)
Kora thinking: Wait... this is not the shelter. What happened to the war? And Emili... Where is she?
(Just as Kora was about to get off of the bed and search around the room, Emili walks in holding a pan of meal)
Emili: (Exclaims) Kora! You're awake! Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere? Don't get up yet, you're not fully recovered.
Kora: (Lies back down) *Cough* Emili, are you okay? I remember we were almost killed by that soldier... and where are we? Shouldn't we be in the shelter?
Emili: This is my room, and I'm all fine. You should be worrying about yourself. YOU were the one that was almost killed. I'm so sorry for putting you in danger... I promise I will listen to you more next time. I would never forgive myself if you... (Lowers her head)
Kora: Your room? (Confused) Why are we in your room? We should get back to the shelter now, Ken would be worried about you.
Emili: (Smiles) The war is over, Kora. We won.
Kora: (Blinks) ...Wait, how long was I unconscious?
Emili: For about 3 days?
Kora: Oh. Well, um, we're safe now, that's good!
Kora thinking: So they defeated the enemy in less than 3 days...? Are wars supposed to be this short? Maybe this country is stronger than I thought. That's good news, though. I wouldn't want to stay in the shelter for too long, I still have to get back to the hospital.
Kora thinking: Oh wait, maybe I can ask Emili about my hospital!
Kora: Emili, do you know where the hospital is?
Emili: Hospital? (Struggles to think) No... I'm sorry Kora, but I don't think I've ever heard of this word. Can you be more specific?
Kora: It's like a place to treat people that are sick or have disabilities. People that work there are either called doctors and nurses, and they wear long white clothes... Oh, not like the ones I'm wearing now though. I don't know how the building looks like because I've never went outside, but the walls inside are all white, and there are little decorations.
Kora: (Awkward) I also don't really know how the other rooms look like, but there's always nurses that comes into my room to help me eat, drink, and urine. Do you have any idea...?
Emili: You mean like a clinic? But why would you want to go to the clinic? If you feel unwell anywhere, I will call for a Medic or a Healer. (Worry) Kora, are you alright? Were you seriously injured before coming here?
Kora: Uh, kind of? (Quickly changes topic) Anyways, the clinic you say? Do you know how would I get there?
Emili: (Frowns) Kora, tell me the truth, are you hurting anywhere? I will need to call for a Medic to check your body. You don't need to go to the clinic.
Kora thinking: Emili is kind of stubborn sometimes... I have to go see what the "clinic" is and confirm if it's the hospital that I know, but why doesn't she want me to go there?
Kora: (Pulls on Emili's sleeves) I'm fine, Emili. I just want to take a look of the "clinic" that you're talking about. Is it bad if I went there?
Emili: Well... Not really, but usually we wouldn't go there. It's more for those that are too poor to pay for a Medic or a Healer. Medics are doctors that heal you with medicine and tools, Healers are magicians. Of course, Healers would be way more expensive, but if you really need a Healer I would tell Dad to call you one. You saved my life, I will pay anything to help you.
Kora: (Quickly) Nonono! Please don't, I'm fine I'm really fine! It just hurts a bit when I move but I'm sure it's no big deal, please don't waste your money on something minor...
Kora: So the "clinic"... it's like a free service for the poor?
Emili: You can say that. It doesn't offer a really good service though... (Sighs) The living condition there really isn't something you want to see.
Kora thinking: No... that doesn't sound right. The hospital that I know surely isn't such a bad place, although my desire to go outside was really strong, I never hated that place. The clinic can't be my hospital...
Emili: Although not all clinics are that bad I guess, but the better ones are not for the citizens. Like clinics serving the soldiers, those are not provided for anyone else.
Kora thinking: Soldiers, huh... I think I'm positive the place I was in wasn't a hospital offering just soldiers. At least I wasn't a soldier for sure.
Emili: Are you alright? You sure I don't need to call you someone to check your wounds?
Kora: No, I'm really okay. Thank you, Emili.
Emili: It's nothing. Are you hungry? I brought you some food. Dad told me to save some soup from the shelter for you but I don't think you would want soup from yesterday.
Kora: (Laughs) No, I wouldn't. Thank you again, Emili.
Emili: Come on. You saved my life! (Smiles faintly) Now all you have to do is rest here and eat until you recover! Oh, wait! Do you still want to eat my new recipe? Although the place is all a mess now, I think I can make something simple for you! Wait here, I'll be back soon!
(Emili exits in a rush)
Kora: (Laying down) *Whisper* I guess I am sort of lucky for meeting such nice people…
Kora thinking: Although I still have no clue about my situation... Where am I? I am still confused about this place, this "Kingdom"? And how nothing matches to what I've learned. How did I end up here... More importantly, how did the nurses allow me to leave the Hospital? They were always watching over me 24 hours, I couldn't even leave my room, let alone the actual Hospital.
Kora thinking: Whatever... I'll get this through someday, I'm so tired now... The wounds still hurts a lot, but I don't want to make a fuss about it. Emili is going to be all over the place if she knew...
Kora thinking: I'll take a nap for now, and I'll eat the food when she comes back again...
