Chapter 2 - The Napoleonic Wars (1803-1815)

Napoleon crowned himself Emperor in 1804, the Third Coalition formed, and he gathered his Grand Army, and marched on to Austerlitz, where in 1805, he fought the Austrian Army, he defeated them due to Napoleon's great strategic plans. And thus, the 3rd Coalition fell. Austerlitz is considered his Greatest Victory.

In the same year, the naval battle at Trafalgar was won by the British, securing Sea Superiority, which explains why Napoleon never invaded the British Isles.

4th Coalition

Prussia was scared of how France was becoming too powerful, so he led the Fourth Coalition, with Russia, Saxony and Sweden, Napoleon just marched to Berlin, encountering the Coalition Forces at Jena, where he secured once again, a large victory, and then the King of Prussia Left Berlin, and he defeated the Russians at Friedland, bringing another peace.

The 5th Coalition

The fifth coalition was poorly created, thus they were defeated at Wagram in 1809.

In 1807, France launched an Invasion of Portugal to isolate Britain from economics, he then replaced the reigning monarch of Spain, and changed the king to his Brother in 1808, named Joseph I.

Russia violated the Continental System because of the consequences of the reduced trade, this made Napoleon launch an Invasion of Russia. He secured a victory at the famous Battle of Borodino, afterwards they entered Moscow, surprised to see the supplies burnt to the ground, perhaps the whole city as part of the Scorched Earth Policy. As they followed, Napoleon had no choice but to retreat, losing a lot of men.

The 6th Coalition

Morale of the French enemies rose, and they formed another one, the Sixth Coalition, Prussia, Austria and Russian Forces fought Napoleon at Leipzig and won a decisive Victory in October 1813, they then invaded France from the East, and the Peninsular War then entered France, which prompted Napoleon to surrender and Abdicate in 1814 as Coalition Forces entered Paris in March that same year.

The 7th Coalition

That's not the end! Napoleon escaped his exile from Elba in 1815! He returned to Paris and retook the Crown, which he launched his last offensive on Waterloo in 1815, where Prussian and British defeated Napoleon, Napoleon was exiled to St. Helena island. Where he would die in 1821.
