Almost two months have passed after my little incident and this is what had transpired. After Aston left dad took me home. The next day, Aston stuck on to me like glue. I didn't know whether or not if it was because he felt sorry for what he did or he was just unaware of his potential feelings. The good news is that his character was a lot different and a tad more manageable to work with than what it was initially. Before he was a haughty little rich kid, now he's a gentlemanly kind and sweet person. Well to me anyway. To most others he was still disinterested in them. The bad news is that I've become the enemy of all female students in my class and possible the whole grade. I guess I changed one thing but can't change the important things. Realizing this I asked my dad to teach me some self defense when I got better. If I'm going to be the scorn of all the female students at school I would rather go down fighting than being an easy victim for them.
"Elizabeth!!!" And here came my number one problem running towards me on my lonely lunch table.
"I told you at this point you can call me Eli. You've already intruded into my life enough as it is." He comes to my house almost everyday just to watch me. He doesn't even do anything he just sits in a corner waiting for someone to notice him like an abandoned puppy. My dad's even given into him at this point and offers him tea and snacks.
"But I was told not to address you with any informalities."
"That might have been the case three weeks ago but as it stands you've been like some sort of lost puppy I found off the sidewalk."
"Okay, Eli." Hhhhmmm..... even I have to admit he is cuter this way, and that's coming from my 19 year old brain. He used to be so unapproachable. Always staring off in the distance while admirers just started flocking around him like crows. Now that I've awaken his more innocent naive nature he's more tolerable.
"Hey Eli I'll trade you 2 lobster tails for that ham and cheese thing." He was so bright eyed and excitable when he said that. He turned from an off brand future Seto Kaiba from Yugioh into a full blown Tamaki Suoh from Ouran High School Host Club....
"Come on, it's a good deal isn't it?" His puppy eyes were annoying me. He was so sincere. He wanted to trade premium lobster meat for a ham and cheese sandwich I made from discounted ingredients I bought with a coupon at the supermarket. Of course his tastes weren't the issue. The problem was them.
"Why's that tramp hogging prince Aston all to her self?" "Just cause she's a little cute doesn't mean jack." "I bet she's blackmailing him into doing all of this." Girls are vicious, even at the tender age of 7. See why I had to ask my dad for self defense lessons. It's gonna be okay. Once I learn some self defense from dad they won't scare me. I just have to be careful, a broken leg is nothing compared to what some of these high class bitches can get me into.
"Hey Eli, are you listening to me?"
"Uwah, I almost forgot you were there."
"What are you so deep in thought for?" My survival dumbass. Crap ever since this change in character it's been harder and harder to say no to him. Why did he have to be such a bishie character? Eli's heart cant take it.
"N-nothing. Anyways, you want my lunch just take it, I'm gonna go to the library." I grab my crutches I was finally able to convince dad to get and went to the library
"Ah wait for me, Eli!!" Shut up I'm trying to get away from you. As I make a mad dash to the library, I bumped into Xander in the hallway. We both fall to the floor. Luckily we didn't bump into each other that hard. Nothing was broken and nothing got even more injured.
"I am so sorry." Xander took a look at who it was and recognized who I was.
"Hey you're that transfer student. You know the one who has Aston the genius wrapped around his little finger." I wouldn't say wrapped. It's more like he's duct taped to me. Or maybe a better metaphor would be like I was dog on a leash trying to escape it's owner.
"Are you okay?" Xander asked as I was crawling over to grab my crutches. Honestly not really, I feel like I'm being hunted down by an abandoned puppy I don't want to take care of. I had enough of that in my past life.
"I'm fine really, just need to stop falling for once." What was this like the third fourth time since I've died that I've been laying on the floor.
"Oh let me help you up." Xander helped me from off the floor and got my crutches for me. I'm beginning to get really sick of this whole falling cliche. Like how many times can one little girl fall in a span of 6 weeks?
"Now that I think about it I don't even know what your name is and yet your so famous. My name's Xander Bowen from Bowen Trading. What's your's?
"My name's Eli, short for Elizabeth. Elizabeth Greyson." The fact that he mentioned his family company was a little off to me. It was something so minor like mentioning his family business but for Xander that was a bit weird. In the manga Xander didn't care about titles or what his family's name meant. He was just generally a nice guy who didn't bother with formalities.
He walks me to the library and we make light conversation. The Xander in the manga was really good at small talk and in this world he was even better. We must've talked for half of our lunch hour in the library. Now that I think about it even in the manga getting along with Xander was almost second nature. It was this back and forth of conversation that made it so easy for Xander to fall for the heroine considering for most of Xander's life he did next to nothing for his family. He had brothers which means he wasn't the first heir, but like Aston he was very good artistically. I think he excelled in earth magic and was talented in the art of flower arranging. Ever since he was young he had a keen eye for color and harmony and with earth magic he could make almost any kind of flower he wanted. He was so good that many of his unique arrangements are in museums on display.
"That's amazing!! You mean to tell me that you have 2 acres of land at your house sole for the purpose of your artworks?"
"Yup, you should see it sometimes. It's a rather spectacular sight. Flowers of all different colors and species growing there and some unique species of plants that I have cultivated myself."
"Would that really be alright?" I'm already attracting the attention of one of your people if I start being around you too then I really will be the bane in everyone's school life here.
"Please I would love for you to come. Aston knows the way to my house so he can just pick you up over the weekend." I should be okay right? I mean the Xander in the manga wasn't the mischievous type and so far he's exhibiting the exact same behaviors as his manga counterpart. That should be the car so why do I feel like I'm entering the lions den here? I wanna go but I'll just have to be on guard just in case. I was getting released from my crutches tomorrow morning anyway so I should be generally ok. If anything happens I can deal with it. After all this is a world based on that manga. Nothing he could do can surprise me. Right?
