Tang Peng circulated the Yin Qi throughout the body, infusing the Yin Qi to heal the damaged nerves from the sudden loss of Yin Qi. Yin Qi was absorbed through Tang Peng's orifices, which formed connections with his soul. The Yin Qi and spiritual soil could be considered as part of the connections, so these orifices were all damaged when his cultivation was hurt.
However, it seemed like Grudge Yin Form could mitigate the damage brought to his soul. Tang Peng tried going into his Grudge Yin Form to see if it could make him recover faster, and focused on hating Xuan Yu from earlier.
He had tried to activate it when he was still stationary, but it did not work that time. The battle where the Grudge Yin Form was at it's full power probably used up all the grudges that he had borne. He probably needed other people's grudges in order to support his own hatred and turn it into the fully fledged Grudge Yin Form.
However, this time, the Grudge Yin Form managed to activate again. A golden chest plate formed on Tang Peng's chest, instead of Tang Peng's right arm changing.
"Huh? Why did this golden armour suddenly form on me?" Tang Peng checked his entire body, where there were no changes that happened to him.
"My body should have changed because of the Grudge Yin Form. Unless..." Tang Peng meditated and reverted back to his human form. When he opened his eyes, the golden chest plate had vanished into thin air.
"Just as I thought... If my theory is correct, different types of grudges give me different types of powers!" The Grudge Yin Form had more versatility than he thought it would have. It did not provide just brute strength, but various other types of powers as well.
Just as Tang Peng was about to test what this armour did, a chant reverberated in his ears. "Cultivation is endless, the mental demons toil. Power is god, and evil is rampant. Slaughter Xuan Yu, and I will serve you as my god." A tall man that was completely pale was inside of Tang Peng's mind.
His head was lowered, while a bun wrapped his white hair. He was covered with lofty robes that represented his prestige. When he raised his face, his eyes were white, while a void was his mouth. As blood began to leak from every hole in his head, he presented a golden suit of armor to Tang Peng. Tang Peng felt pressured by the murderous aura that the man was releasing.
"I want to see his death. I want to see his whole sect destroyed. This power will help you escape beings stronger than you for now. Kill him for me." After saying those words, the man melted into a puddle of blood, before disappearing.
Tang Peng then suddenly levitated in the air. It came so naturally to him, as if he had been practicing this skill for his whole life. An overwhelming feeling of pride besieged him as he rose high above in the skies, watching over all.
"What a powerful ghost!" Tang Peng inferred that only a powerful ghost could create such effects. This was as if he had instantaneously learned the skill. However, he could feel the Yin Qi in his body slip away.
"So, emotions matter for ghosts? The hatred was so scary, but his power level is quite high too." After Tang Peng continued to levitate in the Grudge Yin Form, he then started to lower himself onto the ground. It was too bad that the Yin Qi would be used up. It was an important resource, as he could not casually absorb whenever he wanted.
Since Tang Peng could not withstand the incredible speed that the golden chest plate had, he could only walk towards the boundary. He had already wasted too much time here. There was no doubt that Xuan Yu would bring some high ranking cultivator to put him down, as Zhen Zhong had mentioned that he was in a sect.
Even though Tang Peng had lost some of his cultivation base, it grew overall, so he moved faster than he did and reached the boundary in no time. He effortlessly passed through the boundary, and finally moved out of the Dragonic Sect's territory.
It was time to begin his quest to join the Mingtian Empire. First, he needed to arrive at Long City, which was considered a big city. It was actually a small empire, which sent tributes to the capital of Mingtian Empire, Rising Sun. From there, he would travel towards the Rising Sun, in order to become a proper soldier there.
Since the exit to the mountains was just next to the boundary, Tang Peng walked out of the mountains for the first time in his life. He was immediately assaulted by hot sand flying into his face.
"What the hell is-" Tang Peng tried to speak, but more hot sand flew into his mouth. Tang Peng immediately clamped up his mouth to prevent more sand from coming in. He closed his eyes too, to protect his eyes from getting hurt. He immediately activated the Grudge Yin Form, and flew up high in the sky.
This was not what he was expecting. He had expected there to be more forests or at least grasslands. Instead, he could only see an endless stretch of desert, except for a tiny speck of light that revealed the existence of Long City.
Why would there be a desert suddenly? Inside the mountains, everything was so lush, but just one step outside, and the scenery completely changed.
Tang Peng stayed up high into the sky, at least until the sandstorm had stopped. The feeling of pride he had was exponentially increasing with the use of the Grudge Yin Form, so he immediately deactivated it as soon as he reached the ground.
"The Grudge Yin Form is really dangerous. Is it that with every use of it, my mental stability will be shaken? I don't want to be an idiot without thoughts, so I better refrain from using it so often." Tang Peng restrained the emotions inside of him, and continued to walk on the hot sand.
He had to manually circulate Yin Qi around his body, as it helped to protect him from the scalding heat of the arid desert. It was a pity that there were no animals around him to carry him or clothes suitable for the desert, so he wasted the valuable Yin Qi.
As long as he kept walking forward, he should be able to reach Long City. Since he had no need for food or water, he walked endlessly, during the day and night. The Yin Qi inside him slowly depleted as he had to maintain it at all time to protect against the extreme temperatures in the desert.
After travelling non-stop for 3 days, Tang Peng rested for a while, taking off the purple robes and using it as a resting place. The purple robes prevented heat from transmitting to him, so he could rest for a while. There was a lot of Yin Qi for him to absorb as well.
However, while he was resting, he could feel a shift in the sand under him. Tang Peng opened his eyes, grabbed his purple robes, and activated the Grudge Yin Form. All the sand in the area he was in turned into a giant whirlpool.
From there, the giant whirlpool disappeared into a cavernous mouth. It was filled with numerous, seemingly unending soft tentacles inside. The soft tentacles extended upwards, trying to grab Tang Peng.
Tang Peng gritted his teeth. He should have known that this was coming, since there was so much Yin Qi accumulation in this area. This were the remnant emotions left behind by those who was deceased. With such a heavy aura, there must have been a cause.
Since Tang Peng had no offensive skills, he could only speedily retreat, trying his utmost best to utilise the powers efficiently. The mouth started to move, in order to chase Tang Peng. Large amounts of sand erupted under the movement of the behemoth.
"So scary!" Tang Peng could feel a primal fear rise from him. "Run! Run! Run!" "Fight! Fight! Fight!" Two voices in his head conflicted, as Tang Peng looked at the unstoppable mouth. As sweat rolled down his forehead, the monster finally came to a stop, with an ear shattering "CLANG!" sound.
It roared with a mixture of fear and anger, as it burrowed back into the sands. Tang Peng had finally escaped its pursuit, albeit with the help of something. His whole body was trembling. He had not faced a situation so dangerous before while remaining sane.
Tang Peng deactivated the Grudge Yin Form immediately and let the purple robes act as a cushion. In those moments where he was fleeing, he had almost turned back and fought the monster.
"So this is the drawback of the power provided by a ghost." Emotions, the source of Yin Qi, fuelled the powers of the ghost. Naturally, as he used the power of the ghost, he would be influenced by the emotions as well.
"Still, where did such a large monster come from?" Tang Peng was fairly sure that Mingtian Empire would have spared no effort to kill a monster like that, which probably had eaten people before. What were they thinking, letting it be alive like that?
