When Tang Peng bought the mansion, he immediately got the key to the mansion. The salesman guided him over the location of the mansion, before going away. The mansion was fairly well maintained, with a vibrant red colour painted over. When matched with the golden roofs, it made for an impressive sight.
After all, it used to be the former mansion of a powerful Noble Li, who was accidentally killed off. The Li family put his mansion on the market shortly afterwards. It had apparently been on the market not long before Tang Peng had snapped it up to use as a home.
The mansion also came with some servants who maintained everything inside. When he entered, the servants were all waiting for him, and greeted him very politely.
"There's no need to be polite. Just do your jobs well." Tang Peng told them, while walking into the spacious mansion. The salesman had told me that the mansion was separated into four areas. The servant quarters, the main hall, the master rooms, and the kitchen.
Tang Peng explored all the areas in the mansion. The servant quarters were made of small rooms, with cloth beds for them, while the main hall had marble tables and chairs to host guests. The master rooms were very gigantic rooms, filled with silk beds, but most of the space was unused.
When Tang Peng had been entering the kitchen, the chefs there were cooking something that smelled good. He then went back to the main hall, where he waited.
Since Tang Peng wanted to check out the loot he got from Zhen Zhong, he took out the Dragon Subduing Qi Technique and read it. The crux of the skill was to use the spiritual soil in your body to cultivate a dragon inside of you. Once cultivated long enough, the dragon would form to become a living creature with its own characteristics. It could be summoned out of the body to help the master.
As the dragon was already made from cultivation base, when someone reaches Rotating Core level, the dragon would infuse directly into the core formed. It would increase the power of the core, and subsequently the chance to break through Soul Nurturing Realm.
Of course, this could only be practiced by a talented genius who could endure sacrificing such a large amount of cultivation base in order to refine the dragon. Not only that, someone also had to obtain primordial dragon blood to act as a template for the dragon to be formed.
"Hmm... I should really see if there's a place that sells the materials I need for practicing this technique." Tang Peng spoke out his thoughts. It was no secret that he was someone with special skills anyway.
When the food arrived, the chefs explained the unique parts of the dish. "This is the Human Faced Boar Stew. Many martial masters eat this to improve their internal strength." Tang Peng nodded as he listened to their explanation, as his mouth watered over the smell of the food.
Once the chefs were gone, Tang Peng gobbled down the food with ease. Within the stew, there were traces of Yin Qi scattered throughout. He could feel fragments of a small grudge too, so he absorbed that as well. However, the grudge was so little that he could not even do anything with it.
Oh, the grudge from animals are lesser than humans. Tang Peng felt like he vaguely understood how the Grudge Yin Form worked now. He could accumulate the grudges of the dead by storing them inside his Yin Qi. He could then use up the grudges to use the skills of the person,
Further than that, there were ghosts. Ghosts were developed from grudges, which had their own wills, so he could not naturally control them. Tang Peng started to wonder if he could revert a ghost back to a grudge. It had the same effect as hosting a ghost in his soul, and he would not have to spend Yin Qi at all.
However, he dared not to provoke the ghost again, in case more of his spiritual soil got eaten up. It was better to just absorb grudges naturally first.
Tang Peng started to convert the Yin Qi in his soul into spiritual soil, as the ghost was still asleep. It added some more grains into the pile. When the soil level had reached at least the size of the forest, it would then be considered at the realm of Qi Absorption Level 12. Tang Peng could not wait for himself to advance to this level.
By the time Tang Peng had finished converting his Yin Qi, it was already evening. All the servants had already retreated to the servant quarters to sleep in.
Since there was nothing for him to do, Tang Peng decided to go to sleep. It had been a long time since he had a natural sleep, since he had always been sustained by Yin Qi to keep himself awake.
"..." Tang Peng fell asleep immediately once he had landed on the silk bed. It felt very comfortable, since this was the first time he had even slept on a soft object like this.
***
In the middle of the night, Tang Peng was sleeping soundly, when his legs suddenly kicked out! A slam could be heard against the wall, but there was nothing against the wall in the first place!
As Tang Peng leapt to his feet in the room, he started to laugh. "Kill me if you can." His eyes scanned over the whole room, looking for the assailant.
"Crap! I can't believe he escaped!" Tang Peng stomped his foot on the floor, sending vibrations all over the floor. At that moment, the area in front of the door started to distort a little.. However, Tang Peng did not say anything, instead slipping back to bed.
The door was suddenly obscured by a shadow like creature, as soon as Tang Peng closed his eyes again. As it started to move, it noticed that something was restraining it from moving.
"Gotcha." Tang Peng erupted from his bed with extreme strength, slamming into the shadow creature with one fist. The other fist was turned into stone, which gripped the ankle of the creature tightly.
Tang Peng had activated the power of the ghost, so he had a layer of rock covering him. With Tang Peng repeatedly bashing the shadow creature, some yellowish objects dropped out.
Before long, the shadow creature revealed it's true form, who was a thin and average looking male. He had lost quite a few teeth from Tang Peng's beating. Tang Peng looked down at the teeth on the floor, before picking up one.
"You were planning to get rid of yourself with this, didn't you?" Tang Peng extracted a pill from that tooth, before keeping it in his robes. The man gulped as his eyes kept moving to avoid staring at Tang Peng.
"Now tell me, who sent you here?" Tang Peng was not lenient on villains like this. They would not treat him well, so he would return the favour to them.
After waiting for a few seconds, Tang Peng grabbed a tooth from the floor, and embedded it within the assailant's skin with great force. The assailant let out a few groans of pain, but that was it.
"Every 10 seconds you don't talk, another teeth will be jammed inside you. Maybe it will be in your arm. Your eyes. Your nose. Once I run out of teeth, there are still more in your mouth." Tang Peng threatened the man with more torture. However, the man still refused to talk.
It was only after the tenth tooth was jammed in his lips that the assailant started talking. "It's all your fault! Who told you to go and offend one of the main organisations of the black market?" Even though the assailant has lost most of his teeth, Tang Peng could still discern the intent behind his words.
"There's a black market? Interesting. Care to lead me there?" Tang Peng was excited by the fact that there was a black market. He could probably obtain some items he wanted there. After searching the assailant's body, he found a black dagger, and kept it with him.
"I will lead you there. Of course, you need to let me live." The assailant agreed to Tang Peng's request.
