Chapter 20 - Stationary

When Tang Peng woke up, he could not feel anything at all. When he tried to open his eyes, there was a heavy pressure that kept it close. His entire body had become numb, and he could not feel anything at all. He felt like he had gone into stasis, unable to move, talk, or feel.

Tang Peng could only repeat the events that had happened in his mind. He had remembered everything that had happened, and the actions that he had undertook while he was in the Grudge Yin Form.

It was truly horrifying. He had really racked up a mountain of corpses, as shown in the Yin Gathering Art book. This was the demonic art that most heroes in cultivation stories wished to purge from the world. However, he could feel the power of slamming down on powerful beings when he used this demonic art.

The exhilaration he had felt when he punched these beings, which could easily suppress him at any moment, could not be faked. It gave him the feeling that he was indomitable and unstoppable.

Was it that bad to practice demonic arts? It was not like these people were related to him anyway. The people who had mattered to him had already died.

Tang Peng decided not to dwell on this matter anymore. He decided to replicate the events of the battle in his mind again. There was nothing for him to do, so he re-experienced everything.

However, as he continued to experience the thrill of power, Tang Peng could feel that he was starting to understand the Yin Qi circulation within his body more.

When he had reached the upgraded Grudge Yin Form, he could feel 9 different circulations of Yin Qi that resided inside his body. Six circulations were between his soul and tails, one giant circulation between his horns and soul, and two circulations for the legs and arms respectively.

However, when he reached the point in time where he merged his tails together, the Yin Qi circulations for the tail merged as one together. As this was all visualised in Tang Peng's mind, he could see into his body and feel what had happened.

"Badum! Badum!" Tang Peng saw that when the Yin Qi circulations merged together, a purple heart was created, which kept pumping at a high intensity. The Yin Qi became tainted with a purple stain, which moved to the tail end of the upgraded Grudge Yin Form.

"Yin Qi actually has an amplifying effect? This is interesting. However, if I combine circulations, some areas won't be boosted evenly by Yin Qi." Tang Peng thought that the effect of the Yin Qi combination was really impressive.

Still, he felt like he was too ambitious, as he had not even completed one full Yin Qi circulation within his body yet. He did not have the qualifications to even think about combining the Yin Qi circulations.

Since Tang Peng had nothing to do, he repeated the scenes that had happened over and over again. Occasionally, he also fell asleep, after exhausting his mental strength. He began used to having and feeling the Yin Qi circulations inside through reliving these memories. His heart also underwent a change, as he became more apathetic as a result of massacring the beasts so many times.

As he stayed in his mind for what seemed like years, when reaching the part where he merged the tails together, Tang Peng could feel a trace of Yin Qi coming from outside. It was the first thing he had actually felt, besides the feelings from his memories.

He grabbed onto that feeling greedily, unwilling to let go. The Yin Qi did not resist, allowing itself to pour into his body. As Tang Peng tried to circulate the Yin Qi throughout his body, he could feel pain coming from every direction of his body. He ignored, no, welcomed the pain as he continued to circulate the Yin Qi. It made him feel alive once more.

However, he still did not have enough strength to open his eyes. At most, he could only hear the sounds around him and regain the sense of touch. The surface he was resting on was rough, which should be the so-called Mountain Walker, that he had fallen unconscious on top of.

It was a pity that he could not smell anything. His nose was probably damaged too, as it also contributed to the pain felt. Luckily, Tang Peng was an easily satisfied person. Just the sense of touch and sounds were enough for him, not to mention that he could feel the Yin Qi again.

As Tang Peng laid on the Mountain Walker, day after day, night after night, he slowly absorbed the Yin Qi being produced. Even though he could absorb the Yin Qi easily, the natural Yin Qi produced around him was very little, since Yin Qi relied on negative emotions and a spirit powerful enough to produce it.

As the Yin Qi produced was not even enough to produce one grain of spiritual soil, it was all stored in Tang Peng's soul. By this time, the soul flames had already completed their battle, and one of them emerged victorious, burning brightly.

That soul flame was feeding on Tang Peng's stored Yin Qi to let itself grow more, so even though Tang Peng eventually accumulated a decent amount of Yin Qi over time, it was all gobbled up.

Tang Peng's body was exposed to the wild elements, where he was battered by heavy rain and burned by the scorching sun, along with the curious demonic beasts wandering around him. Yet, he could not do anything to protect himself, except release some bits of Yin Qi to frighten the demonic beasts off. There were not many high rank beasts around Tang Peng after the battle, so he did not have to be particularly cautious.

As Tang Peng rested on the Mountain Walker's back for an uncountable period, he could finally open his eyes. Not only did the Yin Qi sustain him, but his body had also recovered through the circulation of Yin Qi.

"What time is it? Is it night?" Tang Peng muttered to himself under his breath, as he flipped himself over. The darkened landscape and the cooling air proved his guess right.

"It's nighttime huh? Lucky me." This was the best time for him to set out. Nighttime was when most living creatures slept. He should not encounter danger as long as he did not disturb any demonic beasts sleeping.

Since he had relived the memories inside his head for so long, Tang Peng knew the route he needed to take to go back outside of the boundary. From there, Tang Peng knew where to exit the mountains, as Heng Tan had told him beforehand.

What he wanted to do, was to become a soldier of the Mingtian Empire, which was apparently close to this Lang Tian mountains place. After all, only in war, will there be so many grudges built and deaths abound.

Tang Peng's eyes glowed, as he set upon his destination with anticipation. With this cultivation method he had, he will definitely revive his whole village!
