Chapter 1 - Arc 1 Zombie Apocalypse - Chapter 1

[Wake up]

[Tick]

Her eyes flicked open and met with the round white clock that ticked away steadily, following the thin red hand rushed towards the next minute she seemed frozen in time.

[Tick]

"Miss Queens, could you repeat what I just said?" The same monotonous but rather raspy voice ringing in her ears as her teacher who was stood in front of this class noticed her disinterest in his lesson.

[Tick]

She paid no heed to him, instead, her eyes were glued to the clock as her red braids draped behind her.

[Tick]

"Miss Queens. If you insist on ignoring me then we are going to have a problem." The teacher injected clearly insulted at her lack of response.

[Tick]

The fire alarm rang out loudly and a few kids cheered as quietly as they could before swiftly getting out of their seats and rushing outside to line up. The teacher's attention was averted from her and was redirected towards the kids running across the corridors, Suzy was hesitant to get out of her seat.

Why?

Hadn't there already been a fire drill this year? If so then this was either a real fire or another teenager being an idiot and spraying deodorant near the smoke detectors. Pushing herself off from her desk she grabbed her coat as she followed the other students outside.

Being one of the last to leave her teacher wasn't there to bitch about her not taking anything. It was cold outside there was no way she was going to leave her coat. Her precious phone was charging in it with her portable charger.

Besides, if it really was a fire she wasn't willing to let her phone get caught up in that.

Stuffing her hands inside her pockets she gradually made her way down the corridors, the class she was currently in was located on the first floor of the building and upon coming out to the stairs heading down she was facing the playground where the kids lined up was entirely transparent.

Was it just her luck? Possibly considering that as was heading down she noticed a kid running back in her direction. No one around her seemed to notice but she did, she stopped moving when she saw another kid start running as well, and another.

Until the whole playground was in chaos. People scattered everywhere and she wasn't sure if she was fortunate or not because as the first few people ran in the fortified glass double doors leading to the playground was locked by the third teacher who had managed to make it in.

She felt uneasy as she realized that something was wrong if even the teachers locked the doors to the children outside who wanted in.

They banged and pleaded but the teacher who locked the door paid no attention to that. Instead, she proceeded to lock the other two entrances to the building that was on the ground floor.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing!?" The first teacher asked with her face horrified at the third who heartlessly ignored the children who were still stuck outside. "They're still children out there! They're gonna be killed!"

The students around Suzy whispered amongst each other, not sure to what exactly was going on but soon enough the situation was made clear when a year 7 girl screamed pointing to the transparent wall at what looked like a....student.

A student.

A student was eating another student.

No, two students were eating another while a few more chased the other students around. Suzy watched in horror as someone her age got jumped with the child that launched at him sinking its teeth in the teen's arm.

The boy successful flung the vicious little kid off him and kept running as others seemed to chase him.

"Shut up!" The teacher who had locked them in screamed with her face red as she had run all the way here.

"Can't you understand what is going on!? The students are killing each other!"

The scene was complete chaos, her heart pounded harshly against her chest as it occurred to her that this wasn't a measly fire drill.

To her, it seemed more like...

An Armageddon.

She was completely wrapped up in her own thoughts that she didn't even notice her lips thug up in a slow rather... a crazed smile.
