Yana refused to talk with her Yougal papa. He was at a loss as to what to do to pacify his little angel. She was asking him for the impossible. No, she was demanding the impossible. She wanted him to either bring home her auntie mummy or take her to auntie mummy's home. She even refused his offer to bring home a mummy.
Ever since he came back from Leh Ladakh he had been busy with his grandma. After grandma was discharged from the hospital and came home, she had been under constant care of a professional nurse. Dr Bairagi made time to visit her everyday and check on her improvement. Yougal Lucas cancelled all the business trips. God knew that his grandma and Yana were the two most important persons in his life. He would have liked to add another one but that person hated him for no apparent reason.
Yana's aunt Ahana, came on the day Yougal's grandma came home from the hospital and declared that she would be staying with them to take care of grandma. She told Yougal Lucas that she would be bringing her stuff the next day. He was visibly upset at her intrusive behaviour. Neither he nor grandma were ever close to her.
Sometimes she came, especially on Sundays when Yougal Lucas was at home, on the pretext of meeting Yana. But Yana did not like her and grandma tried her best to keep Yana away from Ahana. She was Yana's mom Amaaya's cousin. But grandma complained that Ahana only made a show of loving Yana.
Before Yougal Lucas could say anything grandma rudely interrupted her, saying she did not want to have any outsider staying at her home. And to take care of her, there were the doctors, the nurse and above all her grandson was there with her.
"And please, I'm tired from the ride from hospital. I want to rest now. I can't rest with people crowding my room, can I?" Grandma added grumpily.
Ahana looked at Yougal Lucas, hoping he would say something in her favour. He did not even look at her. She tried to play tricks to separate him from Nirvana. He would not want that crafty woman at his home. God knew what his grandma would have done if she had known that Ahana had burnt Nirvana's photos.
Moreover, he would not want Nia to hear that there was a woman at his home. When Yougal Lucas refused to spare even a single glance at her Ahana left. She had been holding on somehow under the fiery gaze of grandma in the hope that Yougal Lucas would give her some face for the sake of Yana.
Although she was shameless to invite herself to their home, she could not continue to stay when both grandmother and grandson made it clear that she was unwelcomed at their home. An angry Ahana muttered to herself as she walked out of grandma's room,
"How long that old witch intend to live? Let me marry your grandson. I'll show you who is the boss here. I'm the future Queen of the Sinha house."
That day Yougal Lucas noticed the vicious gaze in her eyes. Now with Yana demanding for an auntie mummy, he was nonplussed. Ahana could not be that odd demand, could she be? He failed to scare his little girl with the threat that he would not be bringing home a mummy. She solemnly declared that she already had an auntie mummy.
He now suspected that this whole auntie mummy thing was not a creation of Yana's imagination. Could Ahana have completed some impossible feat to win Yana's love and dedication? He scratched his mind to find a logical reason as to how that crafty woman achieved such impossible task.
Yougal Lucas tried to pry whatever important information he could get from his daughter.
"Yana baby, who is your auntie mummy? Can you tell me her name?"
"Mahua auntie calls her 'Di'. Everyone in the restaurant call her that." Yana replied, as she played with the hatchimals toy.
He looked helplessly at his grandma. He had heard of this Mahua from Yana, who she claimed that, made tasty desserts and taught her to make cookies. He at first thought Mahua was someone who worked at Aditi Adam's home. But only auntie mummy knew her. He decided that if this Mahua was real then the auntie mummy must have a real existence too. Moreover, Yana would not imagine a restaurant.
"Any idea who this Mahua, the great pastry chef is?" He asked his grandma.
"So you have heard of her. I want to taste her pastry too." Grandma tried to promote her own cause.
"Heard of her? I wish I've never heard of that name. Are they Yana's imaginary friends?" He would like to get to the bottom of the matter. Imaginary or not, these persons were soon to give him sleepless nights, especially the auntie mummy.
If somehow she turned out to be Ahana he did not know how to deal with the problem. Allowing that woman in his home would be like inviting more future troubles. Though he did not have any concrete proof with him, Yougal Lucas thought that he knew what that scheming, deadly woman did five years ago.
