Chapter 46 - Chapter 46

Irvene's point of view

I did my best to maintain the magic barrier. Meryll even helped me to maintain it because she also knew how to make magic barriers. The burst of wave started disappearing and the cracks made by Meryll was vanishing in our naked eye.

It's as if it didn't happened. I released the magic barrier a minute after. The aura it's releasing seemed to came back to normal, although it might happen again if some miners tried to mine here specially on that wall.

"It's definitely dangerous here!" Meryll said.

Both of us were catching our breathes. We decided to walk and get outside for the time being.

"If we don't find a solution to stop the violent releases of this mining area, this should be closed. I need to make something like that metal pole outside," I said.

The metal pole served as foundation to prevent the mining area intact. It's useful but it couldn't prevent the sudden release of that black aura. I have to make a magic barrier to support the metal pole from making this place steady from the inside. The magic barrier should be placed directly to the wall, so the aura it releases could be controlled.

The problem was how would I convert the aura of that wall into magic, so the magic barrier shouldn't disappear. After all, I couldn't chant a magic barrier spell that could last long without a person constantly releasing mana for it to won't vanish.

We reached outside and stayed here for a while. While standing, I suddenly felt tired, so I sat on the ground. I released so much magic consecutively that's not even normal for my age. I could say that I could stand a fight against Headmasters, although I would collapse if that happened. The outcome would be uncertain at the end given their experience and I couldn't use all of my magic.

Meryll noticed me sitting on the ground. "Drink this. It'll help you recover," she said.

She handed a small bottle of potion. I kept potions on me but I decided to accept her offer. I remembered that I gave it to her earlier and it had my initials.

IAL.

It became a habit for me to placed my initials on every bottle of potions I created.

"I'll take this then, just talk to me if you ran out of potions," I said.

"Of course, I'll save money because of that!" Meryll said jokingly.

We both laughed. I know that I've been giving her lots of potion, so a long, long time would be needed to spend before she would come personally to me asking for some potions.

While I'm resting, I saw a faint black aura lingering in my hands. A sudden familiar feeling rose but I couldn't tell what it is. However, it instantly disappeared.

Afterward, we went downward and came back to the mansion, so I could study what I have to do to make a magic barrier made out of that black aura itself.

"Don't forget what we have to do tonight," Meryll whispered.

"Of course I won't," I whispered back.

Meryll said that she would take around the place and would come back later while I headed back into our room.

While in our room, I took a book about magic barriers and a notebook from my bag. I still brought bag despite my infinite storage bracelet. They would had been suspicious of me the time when we reached here if I didn't brought any bag here.

Magic barriers serves many purposes especially for mages. Anyone could chant for magic barrier as long as they have sufficient magic and thorough knowledge about it. A person specializes in defense mostly learned magic barriers and some were able to master it with their own styles that were suited for their line of work.

The most skilled ones often became exclusive teachers that guides the skilled ones of today's generation.

There were various types of magic barrier, and the one I needed was the Restricting magic barrier and that restricts anything from too much release of magic. It's quite alike from my ring which restricts the overflow of my magic, although the difference was it's not a human.

The black aura was considerably a different form of magic but was too violent and it would be hard to suppress it. The idea I thought of was to use it's own magic to restrict it.

A catalyst would do, but I don't know any suitable materials to hold the magic barrier made from the black aura's magic. That's what I'll temporarily call it.

I thought that I need to send a letter to Brother Mavien and tell him the current events here.

I immediately got a piece of paper, pen and envelope in my infinite storage bracelet. After I wrote what I needed to say, I kept the paper inside the envelope and put a seal with my magic. It would determine whether the letter I would send was from me or not. Of course, Brother Mavien knew what seal I owned.

Afterward, I summoned Elis. He quickly appeared before me.

"What is it, Master?" Elis asked.

"I need you to send this to Ruler Mavien," I said.

"Yes, Master, but you said I couldn't be seen here," Elis asked.

I looked at him. "Don't you forget? I have a portal," I whispered.

He suddenly remembered then he nodded. "Oh right, and I knew that you must have done something in this room to bravely use the portal," he uttered.

I rolled my eyes at him. "Just go now, I'll send you outside the Spirit Mountain and don't let anyone find you while on your way," I said.

I opened up the portal and send the other way outside of Spirit Mountain. It would be located to a blind spot I saw before we entered Spirit Mountain.

The portal would immediately disappear after Elis teleported and he knew better how to hide from the two knights guarding the gate of Spirit Mountain Company.

It's a good thing that I saw a map earlier at the room where the miner was brought, so I knew where I would send out the other way through my magic.

"Goodbye Master, I'll stay there for a while and wait for you to summon me," Elis said.

Then he disappeared together with the portal. For a while, Elis would be staying at Soul'e Castle since he couldn't come back and be seen entering Spirit mountain or else using portal would have been for naught. Furthermore, I couldn't also send out another portal and let it stay for a long period of time later because I couldn't let anyone see the portal.

After that, I continued to study about magic barriers and search for magic barrier that could connect with the black aura's magic.

I guess I would continue doing this until Meryll came back and we'll go to Headmaster Estrama's study room to discuss about that mining area and request for materials that I would use for attempting to build a support for a strong Restricting magic barrier.

This would be a long research! I hope I would succeed.

Not long after Meryll came and I told her about our plans. She cheerfully agreed.

"What are we waiting for? Let's go to that Headmaster and discuss it!"
