Chapter 47 - Chapter 47

Irvene's point of view

I tidied up my things and left afterward with Meryll to Headmaster Estrama's study room. When we reached his room, I knocked three times and the door opened.

We saw Erill Wanemoon opened the door and let us in.

"Archmage Elvina, may I know the reason for your sudden visit here?" he asked.

"I have a request for materials to the Headmaster," I said.

After that, Erill called the attention of the Headmaster and led us to sit. Meanwhile, Headmaster Estrama looked at us with his tired face.

"What materials will you be requesting?" he asked.

"Two magic poles, the quality should be at its best, a stack of paper made out of a Redwood tree, and two carts of mined black diamond," I said.

He looked at us tiredly and is about to talk when he seemed to realize something from what I said. Even Erill Wanemoon suddenly widened his eyes.

"T-two carts of black diamonds? Did you even know how much we only have? Since it's quite dangerous there, we only managed to mine four carts of a black diamond there and now, you wanted half of it," Headmaster Estrama said.

"Headmaster Estrama, do you really want to fix that mining area or not?" Meryll interrupted.

I sighed deeply and answered him. "The carts of diamond you're worrying for will pay off once we succeed in our work and it's not like I will keep it to myself," I said.

Headmaster Estrama and Erill Wanemoon seemed to relax a bit.

"Then what it is that you're planning to do?" Headmaster Estrama asked.

"I'll insert the diamonds inside the two magic poles. As for the overall plan, it's still not completed but I'm planning to restrict that violent mining area with its own powers. To do that, I need a bunch of its black diamonds," I said.

"Your explanation is acceptable so I'll provide the materials needed. Erill Wanemoon, I'll leave you with this task," he said.

"A-ah, Headmaster, since Archmage Elvina said that they'll restrict that mining area once more, then the magic poles they requested would be another restricting magic poles," Wanemoon said.

Meryll and I both furrowed our brows. What's the problem with providing restricting magic poles?

We saw how Headmaster Estrama frowned his face even more.

"It seemed that we could only provide the rest of the materials tomorrow or even today but the restricting magic poles is not. You still don't know but the construction of restricting magic poles is not available at any time of the day. Only a handful are made every year and the price is rather expensive. You don't know how much we spent from buying that restricting magic pole you saw in that mining area," Headmaster said.

"Is that all?" I asked.

He looked at me in disbelief that I seemed to not mind his problem.

"I just need to write a letter to Ruler Mavien and you'll have no problem in that," I said.

He once looked at me and laughed. "Don't you know that I also requested help from the Ruler. It did make us get it earlier but we ended up spending a huge sum of money," he said.

I smirked. "It was you, Headmaster Estrama who requested but it's different this time. I'm well aware that magic poles' materials to be built involved materials from different countries thus it's expensive price and rarity but it's not the case when I'm well acquainted with the person who's responsible for making this," I said.

"In case you don't know, Archmage Elvina is quite acquainted with lots of people," Meryll said.

She's right and the person was none other than Wade Mc Knight.

"Then I approve of that," Headmaster Estrama said.

Erill Wanemoon gave me paper and a pen for the letter. I chanted an invisible barrier because I don't have a table in front and started writing. When I finished writing, I placed a seal and hid it on the envelope he gave me after. Only Ruler Mavien would be able to read this.

"Since we have no problem anymore, I'll now gather the materials and notify Archmage Elvina tomorrow," Erill Wanemoon said.

Afterward, we left that room and came back to our own room. Meryll once again saying things about how the Headmaster was so greedy that he didn't want to spend a huge amount of money on that mining area.

"Let's just forget that and plan how we would follow them towards the Red River," I said.

This shifted her attention and began suggesting plans on me. One of her plans were we would need to change into new black clothes and a mask.

When the night came, we waited patiently and came out at the right time where there were only a few people inside the mansion.

Of course, those people would only begin if no one would be able to see them especially us.

We're hiding in a dark corner outside the mansion. It's really good that it's night. They're making their way on the entrance of Spirit Mining Company and also its exit.

Meryll and I planned that we would use the portal and we would reach the Red River first but we would only do that if we saw them really doing their plan. We didn't want to wait for anything there if they didn't do their plans.

I looked at Meryll, signaling her that I would open the portal. She nodded then, I hurriedly opened it and we entered swiftly. In an instant, we're standing where I sent Elis earlier. It was the blind spot under the tree which the Knight Guards wouldn't notice us.

When we succeed in using the portal, we swiftly ran and reached the Red River in no time. It could be said that we traveled for minutes but the distance would take half an hour with the use of a horse carriage. Although we hid again, far from the Red River's location. We hid under the trees where no one could see us.

"Irvene, are you really a mage? Your speed earlier was a speed of an assassin like me," she said.

"You're asking like we didn't grow up together," I said.

We only ended up laughing quietly and immediately stopped when we saw the men from Spirit Mining Company.

"They're also fast but we're still faster," Meryll uttered.

With the help of my spell, we were able to see what was happening from afar with a limited range and time. It's an enhancing potion for our eyes and we could only use it once a month since it would bring bad side effects to our eyes if used frequently.

From afar, those men looked like they were about to meet someone that they're not able to in the daylight. When they reached the red river, some people from the other side, immediately appeared.

"You're right, they're doing something shady tonight," I whispered.

We waited and saw how those men bowed and gave something to a man at the center. Afterward, they handed a tied man in return.

"We need to take action now," I said.

Meryll nodded and we dashed quickly onto their location, making them stunned.

I would not let you all go easily!
