Chapter 49 - Chapter 49

Irvene's point of view

I woke up even before the sun would rise. The exhaustion entered my body after we reached our room and I felt really well after resting. Nonetheless, I somehow feel sick because my body was burning a little. I stood slowly and summoned a potion into my infinite storage bracelet.

Although the potion helped me, it was almost insignificant. Then suddenly, the room seemed to spin slowly until I felt dizzy.

"I s-shouldn't fall asleep," I uttered.

I still have many things I have to deal with....

The moment I opened my eyes, it was already dark. I opened the curtains after I stood up from the bed. It seemed impossible but I felt that there's nothing wrong with my body anymore.

I looked around the room and saw no one.

Where's Meryll? She didn't even wake me up.

Not long after someone opened the door. Meryll finally came back. Her expressions seemed weird though. Her widened eyes looked at me and slowly walked towards me and checked my body.

"Is there something wrong?" I asked.

"And why you didn't wake me up earlier?" I continued.

Meryll gazed at me. "You, didn't you know that you've been asleep for two days? You didn't even wake up once at that time!" Meryll said.

"I'm very worried and I don't know what to do. When that Headmaster's assistant asked about our work and I said it was doing okay and I didn't tell anyone about your current condition," she continued.

"How about Winter?" I asked.

Meryll shook her head. "I don't know since she disappeared before we reached Spirit Mining Company and she didn't show up since now," Meryll answered.

It was understandable since I wasn't able to give her magic anymore after I fell asleep. This wasn't the first time I ended up sleeping for a long time and the worst one was I'm almost asleep for a month until it reduced to weeks and days and didn't happen anymore after I reached the age of fifteen.

The moment I fell asleep, my condition was getting bad but when I woke up, I was very healthy and it seemed that nothing had happened at that time.

It's almost three years ago but it changed to coughing blood after using magic, thus they restricted me using the restricting magic ring, similar to what I'm currently wearing.

"Don't worry about me, I'll make sure that it wouldn't happen again," I said.

Meryll nodded at me with her unhesitant gaze.

"I'll look after you every day starting today," she said.

I didn't say anything.

I began changing my clothes in the comfort room and got outside to start my work. Meryll followed after me.

"When you're sleeping, they informed me that the materials you requested were already collected except for the restricting magic poles which will be delivered here the next two days," Meryll said.

I didn't expect that the process of buying the restricting magic poles would take long despite sending a letter to the Ruler. That letter contained the words I wanted for Brother Mavien to be said to Wade McKnight. Those words would make Wade to immediately send me two restricting magic poles.

Nonetheless, two more days would not make a difference after the sudden change of plans.

"The materials they sent were in this way," Meryll said.

She pointed the other way that we're supposed to go. I shook my head.

"We'll meet Headmaster Estrama," I said.

"Okay," Meryll uttered.

When we reached his study room, I was about to knock when the door opened. Erill Wanemoon looked slightly startled.

"Archmage Elvina, come inside," Erill Wanemoon said.

However, when we came inside, Headmaster Estrama's presence couldn't be seen which was unusual. This was the first time we came without him sitting on the chair beside the elegant desk.

"Where's the Headmaster?" I asked.

"I apologize but Headmaster Estrama left and went outside Spirit Mining Company to do some important matters," Erill Wanemoon said.

"If there's something important you want to discuss, the Headmaster said that you can discuss it with me," he continued.

I shook my head.

"It wasn't that important but can you say where he went off too? I just wanted to hear his opinions by sending a letter. I'll let Meryll send it herself so it could reach him immediately," I said.

"Right, I could send it myself," Meryll agreed.

Although Meryll agreed, she looked at me confusedly, wondering why I need to send a letter.

"The Headmaster went to the House of Salford family and it was quite far away, nonetheless if you insist, you can bring the letter yourselves," Erill said.

"Is there anything you want to discuss?" Erill Wanemoon said.

I shook my head.

"We'll be leaving," I said.

Erill Wanemoon smiled.

Weird.

"Then, I shall accompany you outside," he said.

He opened the door afterward and joined us outside since he's also about to leave this room earlier but he saw us. He took the other way afterward.

We came back to our room and skipped checking the materials I asked for.

"Why do you need to send a letter?" Meryll asked.

"We don't really need to. I just want to know the Headmaster's location," I said.

I started packing my important things and also asked Meryll to arrange her belongings but only the ones important and leave some here.

"Wait," Meryll uttered.

"You're also going to the Salford family's place?" Meryll asked.

"I have to," I said.

"Didn't you just finished resting? I'll agree if you rest one more day," she said.

I looked at her intently. "I skipped enough days to what I plan. Stop worrying, we'll bring Elis, Ivy and also Winter," I said.

Meryll sighed deeply. "Okay then, and I'll watch your actions. You should prevent physical fights," she said.

After that, I chose to work first. We'll be leaving at night.

Then, I checked the materials first and started chanting spells to the Redwood paper, wood that came from the Redwood tree. After that, we separated the black diamonds into 4 equal stacks.

There were lots of Redwood papers and I took an hour to finish chanting it and another half an hour to finish separating the black diamonds.

Since the magic poles were not here yet, we stopped working and checked the mining area. So far, it wasn't releasing violent magic aura like last time but it couldn't be said to the following days.

We worked for almost an entire day and came back to our room. We were supposed to head outside the Spirit Mining Company but Meryll insisted that we should rest first.

Since that was the case, I took this chance to give some magic to Winter and I'll continue to give her magic again after we reached the House of Salford. I couldn't continuously give all magic in one go since I'm preventing myself from experiencing sudden sickness.

Not now.

The right time came and we went out swiftly like last time. It was only a few hours before the sunrise. We should have left earlier but Meryll didn't budge and let me rest so we're now hurrying to reach that place.

The portal was used again and we ended up on the same tree then we left the forest and reached the park nearest to Spirit Mining Company.

"Finally, we reached this park," Meryll uttered.

This park was indeed farther than the Red River's location. Nonetheless, we didn't have a choice since this was the path nearest to Salford's Manor.

"We don't have enough time, let's go," I said.

Meryll nodded.

We should reach that place before the sun rises again.

Wait for me and I'll deal with the two of you!
