Chereads / The Kings / Chapter 27 - All Gone

Chapter 27 - All Gone

I didn't have to think twice before clicking the 'end call' option on my phone screen.

"Don't you dare hang up!" Mu Yi's strong, demanding voice stopped my fingers in mid-air.

How did he find out my phone number? Before I did mention it wasn't impossible for Mu Yi to find out a lot of things about me, if he truly digs for it. Except, the phone number I have was not even registered under my name! Unless...

Ahem, I cleared my throat in hoping to bring back some of my confidence. It sort of flew away when I heard his sexy, no, scary voice. "Yes?"

Wow, my voice came out weaker and sweeter than expected.

"Anong, tell me where you are right now?" Mu Yi asked again in a gentler voice, realizing he may have scared her just now.

I looked up at Tang Liang who mouthed, 'who?'. I mouthed back 'Mu Yi', and geez did Tang Liang have the biggest smile on his face.

"Anong, hurry up!" Tang Liang used his most coquettish voice from across the table. "Don't keep me waiting so long for you~."

I almost vomited my ten pieces of rice grain back out hearing his cringy voice. Tang Liang! Are you digging an early grave for me?

I threw my chopsticks at Tang Liang to make him shut up, but he was able to dodge them. Hmph, next time I'll make sure to use my bowl.

"Ahh, so fierce, that's how I like it~" Tang Liang grinned, knowing Mu Yi was listening on the other line.

"Anong, who is that? Where are you?" Mu Yi asked, though his questions were coming out more like demand for answers.

I kicked Tang Liang's long legs from under the table. He gave out a loud yelp from the pain, he rubbed his shins with his hand. Seems like that kick was not a good enough warning to make Tang Liang give up from dying by my hands.

"Please be gentler, we are just getting started, Anong~." Tang Liang continued to tease Mu Yi who was quiet the whole time.

Then I heard a snap. The only thing I can hear is 'du du du' as if the phone had been disconnected.

Chu Heng who was sitting in the passenger seat was too afraid to turn around to face his boss. "B-b-boss where would you like to go?"

Mu Yi clenched down his teeth and threw his phone on the car floor that was snapped into two by his hand. Chu Heng almost jumped out of the car to take cover. It became dead silent for a few minutes in the car before Mu Yi gave out an order where he wanted to go.

This was the first time Chu Heng had seen his boss piss to the max. Even today issue did not cause Mu Yi to bat an eye.

When Chu Heng had heard about the commotion that happened with filming their new perfume product, Wings. He wanted to tell his boss right away, but Mu Yi was in the middle of an important meeting that couldn't be interrupted either. Chu Heng had to fight his inner self to wait patiently until the meeting was over.

It didn't take long for the gossips to travel to Mu Yi's ears. Since it was something seen by a lot of employees who were not involved with the Wings project.

When the chauffeur had stopped the car, they were in front of this rundown apartment building. Mu Yi immediately walked into the building the moment the car came to a stop. Chu Heng wasn't sure why his boss wanted to come here, but he quickly followed him inside as well.

Mu Yi stood in front of Anong's apartment door. It was quiet, he couldn't hear anyone talking from inside. At first, he gave a few knocks to see if anyone will open the door or hear any noise. It remained quiet inside. His steady knocks turn into banging on the door. It was reflecting his emotions that were about to run wild.

"Boss..." Chu Heng wasn't sure what to do to calm down his boss. Mu Yi was a ticking bomb ready to go off at any second.

"What is all this racket? Who are you?" The manager of the building came running down the hallway after receiving noise complaints coming from the third floor. The manager stopped in his track when he met with Mu Yi's fierce eyes.

"Open this door, right now." Mu Yi order.

"I-I can't do that. It's against our policy to open someone else's door unless you can show proof this apartment belongs to you."

"I don't care. Do it now, or I'll break down this door if I have to." Mu Yi put his hands in his pockets, "Chu Heng."

"Yes sir," Chu Heng pressed a number on his phone.

It didn't take long for four men in black suits to come running down the hallway. Mu Yi stepped off to the side to make way for them to kick down the door.

"Wait!" The manager panicked and took out the stack of keys hanging by his side. With shaky hands, he tried to find apartment 304 key. "I need to quit this job..."

When the door was opened, the inside of the apartment was dark like no one has been home all day. It also did not look like how it was the first time Mu Yi had walked in. The apartment was... empty.

The small dining table in the kitchen that was under the window was gone. The couch Mu Yi sat on the other night was gone. He opened the door to the bedroom, and the bed where he slept with Anong by his side was gone. Her clothes, accessories, and makeup were gone. To begin with, Anong did not have many things in the apartment. Just that it never felt this empty.

Mu Yi knew it wasn't the apartment that was making him feel empty. It was the fact that Anong took away everything that showed she ever existed. It was now all gone.
