Chapter 33 - Finally, After A Year

Relaxing in my bathtub filled with roses, I finally put my phone sound back on. Since Hui Yin couldn't reach me by phone the first time, she sent me a detailed text instead. Very smart. It was nothing more than informing me of the upcoming meetings.

Boohoo, my relaxable days are almost over. Though, I can't say I had the luxury of being relaxed all this time.

Hui Yin: [CEO Yun, the meeting is set up for tomorrow morning at ten o'clock. I had already prepared all the paperwork.]

Hui Yin: [... Also, CEO Mu's assistant Chu Heng mentioned "strongly" that you (Yun Anong) must be present during the meeting. Without you, CEO Mu will cancel all contract with New Image.]

My oh my, Mu Yi is threatening the CEO of New Image because of me. When the CEO of New Image is me. The thought of it made me laugh out loud. He is getting cleverer in finding ways to get a hold of me lately. First of all, I will be showing up to the meeting tomorrow either way, as the CEO obviously. The rest can be discussed further at the meeting.

At the moment, there is someone else I have to deal with on my missed call list. Receiving twenty missed calls from this person, I knew what was in waiting for me.

"Hi, best friend! You called?" I used my most cheerful voice to appease his anger.

"What's up with that tone?" A voice with a hint of annoyance responded back in comparison to my cheerful tone.

Is there something strange about the way I had talked? I usually sound like this whenever I spoke with my best friend.

"Did you know how worried I was!" Feng shouted, taking a few huffs to calm himself down. He didn't get a chance to sleep a wink last night because of her, yet here she is sounding all merry.

"Huh?" I was confused about why he would be worried when nothing serious was happening. Besides all the drama, I slept like a baby last night.

"I got a text from you saying, 'I miss you very much.' I tried calling you all night long! Sending me a text like that in the middle of the night. I thought something had happened to you." Feng fumed, it really showed how worried he was last night for her. It's been a while since she appeared like she was in emotional distress.

Oh, yeah.

"Haaa, but I do miss you~" I joked, stepping out from the bathtub. I guess I did get sentimental last night after talking to Mu Yi.

Off to my side was a tall mirror twice my height, turning around I stared at my hourglass body. I wouldn't say I have the perfect body, although occasionally I will receive compliments on how much people want the shape of my body. If only I can, I would love to swap out my body for another.

"Did you sleep like the dead last night?" Feng asked, trying to change the topic. Maybe something did happen last night, and Anong is just not telling him, yet.

"Sorry, I did end up sleeping like the dead last night." I apologized, grabbing my fluffy white robe off the hook. I only turned my back to face the mirror once I had the robe on. I did not want to see my back.

"I think I called the wrong number," Feng mumbled, taking a look at his phone screen to make sure he did call the right person.

He was dumbfounded. Anong actually knows the word "sorry". She must really be feeling sorry, the only time she'll actually apologize was when she was in the wrong. Something really did happen! Forget it, he'll ask when the time comes.

"Aiya, I'm embarrassed. Don't say that!" I giggled, grabbing my hair blow dryer. "Anyway, talk to you later. See you soon!"

Feng will be landing tomorrow afternoon, finally. It's been almost a year since I had last seen him in person. Even though we do keep in contact with each other regularly through the phone or facetime. It was best to get rid of these feelings before he sees me in person. Scarily, Feng could read my mood with just a glance. I guess that's why he's my best friend.

"Wait, Anong..."

"Hmm?"

"No, nevermind. Yeah, see you soon." Feng hanged up the phone call. He couldn't go through asking her the question that has been going through his head for the past years.

After getting dressed and ready to leave my house, I opened the drawer on my nightstand. Within the drawer, there was a hidden button on the right side. If you do not look closely, you wouldn't even notice it was there. It blended in with the inside of the drawer perfectly, making it look like any normal drawer. I wouldn't have seen it either if I wasn't the creator of this drawer.

When I pressed on that button, the back of the drawer made a clicking sound that it was unlocked. Removing the small thin wood at the end of the drawer, there was a tiny ring box with a fingerprint lock. I pressed my thumb on the scanner, and it made three beeping sound that it had recognized me as the rightful owner. The cover slowly opened, revealing a diamond crescent moon ring with a star small diamond star next to it.

"Its been a while." I rubbed the jeweled crescent moon before putting it on my right index finger. It let out bright gleams with the sunlight shining through my room.
