Chapter 29 - New Spokesperson

Tang Liang took in a few deep breaths of happiness. "Yah! You did that on purpose!"

See, didn't I say there was someone much scarier than Mu Yi in my life. Even stubborn Tang Liang will become an obedient child upon hearing my first brother's voice. Most of the time, my first brother tends to be very doting and kind towards me. Still, when he gets stern, I become very docile as well.

"What was that?" I put my right hand next to my ear acting like I didn't hear him accusing me. Tang Liang finally took off my flowery headband and tossed it at me. "Yah, is that how you treat your savior? Your aunt?"

"Aunt, my ass." Tang Liang crossed his leg and changed the channel on the TV.

All the entertainment channel Tang Liang was flipping through was about Shu Meiying getting slapped on set. I was portrayed as the bad guy who went on a rampage and attacked her. All because I was jealous of her over CEO Mu who was currently her man. I was about to burst out laughing. Hah, using this situation to climb up the social ladder.

So far the only good thing was that the news did not know who was it that delivered those spectacular slaps. I applaud my assistant Hui Yin for being able to cover it up completely. She is doing so much work, but here I am sitting around. Sigh, not for long though.

"By the way Liang, did you perhaps see my peach blossom hairpin when you were going through my jewelry?"

"Hmm..." Tang Liang took a moment to think before telling me he didn't see it.

Damn! I seriously must have lost it at the hotel where the reunion was held. It would be great if it dropped there, at least someone may have picked it up. My hairpin was stressing me out more than Shu Meiying's news right now.

"Oh, since I am not your aunt." I gave Tang Liang a few fake sniffs that I was about to cry. He decided to ignore me by not facing me. "My brother was dropping hints about a blind date for you?"

I didn't give my nephew number three a chance to protest. I was already half-way up the stairs when I told him of the news.

"What did you say!" Tang Liang shouted, removing his attention from the TV.

"Set up by your mom too." I tapped my finger on my chin then smiled, "No one to save you now."

"Wait! My great aunt! I was wrong!" Tang Liang got up ready to beg for my forgiveness. "Please help me again!"

"Can't!" I ran to my room, "I have to take this very important phone call."

I sat on my bed ready for Hui Yin's report.

"CEO Yun, I did everything you had asked but..."

"But?"

"Turns out CEO Mu had already canceled all contracts with Shu Meiying before I was able to get a hold of him. He said that he'll take full responsibility to what happened. He also said that he already has someone in mind to replace Shu Meiying's place."

"Oh, who?"

Interesting, I am surprised Mu Yi already found a replacement so quickly. Not only that, but he also kicked Shu Meiying to the curb like she was nothing. Well, she was really nothing without Mu Yi's help. Haa, and they were all lovey-dovey just the other day in front of everyone.

"Ahem, i-it's you..." Hui Yin voice trailed off towards the end. "He said that it has to be you no matter what. It'll be a win-win for both sides."

"Say what!" Let the CEO of New Image be the spokesperson for New Image brand and Wings perfume. No, no, no...

"Ceo Mu also said that he wants to set up a meeting with the CEO of New Image to further discuss this collaboration." Hui Yin continued her report. "Right now, he is still unaware of your identity."

"Good. Just tell CEO Mu that I would like to discuss this in person." I gave Hui Yin my final decision, "Set up a date and time. I'll be there."

"I understand." Hui Yin hung up the phone call then immediately made preparation for the upcoming meetings.

I laid on my bed curled up with my blanket tucking me in safely. Tsk, I should have never returned. I was right about returning. It'll bring me nothing but headache and troubles. It has only been a few days since I had returned too.

All my problems so far are coming from Mu Yi. The number one person I had wanted to avoid while I was here, and speaking of the devil. I picked up my ringing phone, if I didn't, I don't think it'll ever stop ringing tonight. I didn't say 'hello' or speak at all.

"Anong, please don't hang up." Mu Yi pleads, his voice was quiet and soft. "I really want to see you."

I continued to listen quietly to hear what he had to say.

"I-I don't care what you did with that man. I just want to know if you're okay?"

It felt like he was waiting for me to reply, so I gave him an "mmm" that I was okay.

Mu Yi sighed out in relief to hear she was alright, despite feeling restless that he couldn't check her in person. He knows she doesn't want to see him at this moment. She avoided all his phone calls until now. He never knew he had this side of him, patience. Patience enough to be calling someone over and over so he can hear their voice.

"I want to see you." Mu Yi repeated again. He gazed up at the bright full moon tonight, wondering if she was looking at it as well. At least, it would feel like she was closer to him that way. "I miss you..."
