Im guessing Ethel was taken back when she heard "Please take care of my son well" since I'm that that young. I'm 12. I can take care of myself.
We walked around for a bit, saying a few things to each other, looking at a few vendors, and then going back to being awkward.
Like, REAAALLLLY awkward.
"Say, why don't we take a seat over there?" She said, pointing over at a bench by a tree.
"Okay."
When we got there, it was just more silence.
At this point, I regret going out. I should've just stayed home and studied. Although that's probably why I don't have any friends...
"Sooo... what do you do on your free time?" Ethel asked.
"I don't know. Study. Read. Help Mamma at the bakery. No that I can do much. You?"
Ethel stared at me like a lunatic, then proceeded to talk about the girly things she likes to do. Like, sewing....and other boring stuff. I didn't really pay attention.
I was looking around when I spotted a cute gray, fluffy kitty across the street.
My eyes lit up as I motioned for it to come towards me.
The cat didn't notice me for a good minute, but as soon as it did, it came running towards me.
When the cat came close enough, I grabbed it and put it on my lap.
"Urrrgh, you weren't paying attention to me this whole time, right?"
"Yup."
She just gave a "hmph" sound and turned away. I didn't care though, the cats soft fur and it's purring comforted me.
I wished we could have cats in our bakery, but we weren't allowed to.
Plus Mammas allergic.
I was enjoying the cats presence when a boy came running and tripped on my extended legs. (Lmao) This shocked the cat, as it got up from my lap, jumped down, and ran away.
I was annoyed with the boy for a moment until he got up and apologized many times.
"I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry!!!!"
And the he annoyed me again my apologizing so many times.
"It's okay! You don't need to say sorry so many times. More importantly, are you okay?" Ethel asked.
"Y-yeah...I'm fine."
"Sorry. It was my fault for making you trip." I replied apologetically yet monotone.
The boy didn't say anything as he just stared at my face, then looked away with tinted pink cheeks. (Probably from the cold, except it wasn't THAT cold. He must be sensitive)
It wasn't until two seconds have passed when I noticed his bruised face.
I didn't cause that, right? He said he was fine earlier...
Before I asked him anything, he got up from his knees and sprinted out again in a hurry.
"Weird."
"What is?"
"Nothing."
"Welp. That's enough for today. Let's head back now. It's getting pretty late."
"Okay."
We got up and left back to the bakery.
I was still pretty mad about the cat leaving though.
