Chapter 5 - Chapter 3

When we came in birds eye view of the bakery, it was completely back to how it looked in the early morning.

"How'd she get that repaired so fast?"

Ethel asked, astounded.

Honestly, I have no idea.

We entered inside the bakery with our stupid surprised faces and turned to mamma at the same time.

She was there, cleaning the floor behind the counter. She looked up and saw us.

"I was wondering when you would get back. I was getting worried. You had a good time, yes?" She said excitedly.

"Yes. Good time. How'd you get the front entrance repaired in less than 5 hours?"

"I used half the money we earned today for the construction."

Ethel was going to ask another question but stopped, smiled, and said her goodbyes instead, then left out the room.

"Well, I'm going upstairs."

"Get ready for school tomorrow, ok?"

"Yup."

School

I didn't mention much about school, but there's nothing much to 'school.' I just sit at the corner of the classroom and is considered the "loner yet smart" guy.

Class ended, and I was getting my stuff together when a hand slammed my desk.

"Hey Chase."

I looked up from my bag and stared at the boy - well, group of boys. The ringleader smiled vigorously and zoomed in on my face.

"What do you want, Cory?" I asked bluntly, but it was stupid to ask since I already knew what he was going to ask for.

To be honest, Cory was being very seductive at that moment.

But, he always is when he feels like seducing our bakery's bread.

"You already know what we want. Give us a discount for the bread and we'll buy tons of it."

"How much do you mean to spend?"

"Hmmmm..."

Cory looked away as if wondering, then smirked. Out of his pocket he pulled out a dollar bill.

"How about this much?"

"Deal." I said without much reluctance.

"Should be."

He stuffed the dollar bill back in his pocket and motioned me to come with his group - so I did.

We were heading towards the door, Cory at the front leading, when the door smacked open and hit Cory right in the face.

I couldn't help my self from laughing when I saw Cory on the floor with a red face and in the verge of crying. It was a rare sight.

"Who the fu-"

"DUDE, ARE YOU OKAY?!?!" A familiar voice said.

I stopped laughing when I saw who'd smacked Cory.

Yup.

It was that boy from yesterday.
