"Oh, you're that boy from yesterday."
Except he wasn't shirtless this time.
I took a good look at him - unnaturally ginger spiked hair, yellowish-brown eyes, and slightly darker skin tone from my pale skin.
He pushed the group of guys surrounding Cory, walked towards me, and placed his hands on my shoulders.
"Are. You. Okay?" He asked again.
"I'm fine. What's with your entrance though?"
"I saw him," he jerked his thumb towards Cory "looking very rudely at you. I thought you were being bullied!"
"Nah." I simply said.
"You-" Cory got up, his face all blotched up as he stared the dude straight at the back of his head.
The guy turned around.
"Yes? Sorry, I didn't know you were this guys friend. I'll lea-"
"HOW DARE YOU HIT MY FACE?!?!?" Cory made his left hand into a fist and flung it to this guys head. (Jeez, what's his name?!??)
Before Cory's fist hit the guys face, he perfectly grabbed it, squeezed it, and twisted his hand behind Cory's back.
Cory screamed in pain.
"Sorry! I didn't mean to. It was a reflex!" He let go of Cory's hand as his friends went to see if he was okay.
I saw Cory slap his friends hands from helping him.
Menacingly, he said, "Fuck you Chase and your friend here. I'll never go to your shit bakery and WILL make sure no one goes there as well."
And then he marched out the classroom with his minions.
"You just made us lose 1$ worth of sales." I told him, quite sadly.
"Agh - I guess they made you sales huh?"
"Yeah. For a discount that is."
He clasped his hands together and bowed half way down.
"IM SORRY! I caused you trouble again."
"Uh, that's fine - just why are you bowing?"
"O-oh, it's just habit. My stepmom's Japanese so we had to get accustomed to her Japanese traditions at home."
"Cool."
We stood there in silence for a moment before a thought popped up in my head.
"Say, what's your name? I don't know what to call you in my internal monologue."
"Oh, you have those too?"
"Who doesn't?"
"Well, I'm Joshua Joyce! Nice to meet you!" He put his left hand in his pants pocket and extended his right arm.
"Chase Payne. For your monologue."
We shook hands - his handshake being quite harsh on my weak hand.
Joshua smiled and said, "Hope we get to be good friends in the future. And don't worry - I'll make sure to recommend your bakery. After all, you have good bread~"
"Friends?"
"Hm? Yeah, friends."
"Never had those."
Our hands went back to our sides as Joshua spout out in laughter.
"You're hilarious." He hit my back hard and grabbed my arm.
"Alright, lets go to your bakery. I'm starving."
"Uh, ok."
Joshua dragged me out the classroom and out the school we went.
