When Sagar managed to get everything settled with the other villagers it was already time for dinner at his home. He's never come home this late before so he wouldn't be surprised if his mother would question about what took him so long.
Before he went into the house he called out Pyro Jack and Badb Catha to put them back in their kuda while also thanking them for taking care of any beasts that were near the group of refugees. Even though they didn't really have personalities to speak of they still acted like they were living beings so Sagar would feel slightly bad if he didn't express any form of thanks.
Walking through the door he immediately spotted his mom at her favorite spot in the house, sitting at the dining room table. She was there with Aquilia feeding her quietly, it almost seemed like she didn't notice Sagar walking in the house. Of course Sagar wasn't naive enough to think his mother didn't notice as after her recovery her senses became a lot sharper. Instead of avoiding the inevitable he walked to the table and took a seat, where he noticed a plate of food waiting for him.
Sagar started to eat quietly waiting for his mother to finish feeding Aquilia as she looked to be falling asleep in the middle of it. When Aquilia had enough she just fully fell asleep with Beatrice standing up to take her back to their room. Sagar just kept on eating waiting for his mother's return which didn't take too long.
While sitting back into her chair she said, "Well you took your time getting home today, not that I mind but I'm curious about what kept you so busy?"
Sagar didn't plan to hide too much from his mother besides the strength of the group along with what he witnessed in the cavern. Beatrice looked at her son quietly fully absorbing what he was telling her but also a bit shocked about the events he went over. Not the fact that this group was going around raiding villages but from the fact that he said he took care of it.
Her son wasn't talking about knocking them or anything like that she figured he killed the entire group. She doesn't have a problem with killing as sometimes it is a necessity to survival but the person telling her this was someone like Garris who was used to such acts, it was her child who was not even twelve yet. He may have been fighting beasts in the forest and killing them as well but this was completely different, he killed a human.
She still remembered the first time it she killed someone that it haunted her for quite sometime, now she was used to it but that still took time. Here Sagar was telling her about killing not just one or two people but an entire group numbering almost forty. From the looks of it he didn't seem affected by these events at all but that was all she could gather from his facial expressions.
The only problem was that this was her son so she knew him quite well as throughout all these years even though he expressed all sorts of positive emotions quite regularly he kept his negative ones to himself. Even though he was a kid she had not once seen him angry or throw any sort of tantrum which would be almost normal for kids but not for him. Even if he was special he was still a child she didn't understand why he would he never showed such things, was it because he was bottling it up or did he never feel that way.
It took her a while before she had a good handle on it and noticed different ticks he showed whenever he wasn't explicitly showing his emotions. For example when he was irritated his ears of all things started to move a little, when she saw it she found it to be really funny. Now her son wasn't showing any sort of familiar sign that he usually does, so she gathered that this was something she hadn't seen before.
All that was on her son's face was his blank stare and almost cold tone when addressing anything about the group he fought in the forest. She wasn't absolutely sure what he was feeling but she could sort of feel it so she did what any mother should do, she comforted her son. She brought him into her embrace and started to rub his head slowly.
Entering her hug he felt almost stiff but he seemed to calm down after a bit. Neither of them said anything and just hugged each other in silence for a while.
After a while Sagar separated from his mother and simply told her, "Thank you.", and then walked back to his room.
He sat on his bed for a while trying to get a feel of himself. He almost felt completely different since the fight ended he wasn't completely sure what it was. It was like something was always behind him watching his movements and what he did it was getting kind of creepy except that he wasn't feeling any sort of malice from this presence it seemed to mainly curiosity.
Unfortunately Sagar was too tired to really think about it anymore he just went to bed and decided to think more on it in the morning.
When waking in the morning he was still tired as his dream was a bit more engaging he would say. It didn't seem like a dream at all it was like it was actually happening more than anything. In his dream there was two figures that didn't really have a solid shape but each one was conveying different things to him. One was radiating what felt like a soft sensation that felt nice to touch while the other one radiated something menacing that felt like needles stabbing into one's skin if they touched it.
Sagar decided to see if he would have the dream again later tonight and maybe figure out what the deal was.
Like this another five months had passed and the time had come for the family to go to the capital of the Griffin Empire Verreaux to where the Drak family was located. Skoll Academy was also close to the capital as well so when Sagar when to school it wouldn't take long for him to get back whenever he wanted to visit.
As for the dreams he's been having they happen every now and then still leaving Sagar confused about what exactly was happening but he hoped he could figure it out sooner rather than later.
With everything packed and ready Sagar along with his mother and sister got into a carriage, that was actually provided by the Drak family, and started to leave Mountain Village.
